  1. I fly the San Jacinto Flag on April 21. My copy is very thin, almost like silk. It's OK to fly outside one day a year, but if anybody knows of a thicker version, please let me know. We also fly the Alamo flag during the siege, and the Gonzales flag on October 2. The neighbors always think we are flying the Mexican flag in late Feb-early March.
  2. I also fly the Texas flag from the legislature. You can get it in either cotton or polyester. We have the cotton version and it is good quality and a good value. Maybe you can request one that was flown on a day when Dan Patrick was out of state.
  3. It is pathetic that a state as large as Texas, with our storied past, is represented by our current crop of state leaders. We have affirmed that our capitol was built for giants, but is inhabited by pygmies.
  4. When is Liberty University going to send their crackpot paleontology team in to debunk this scientific gibberish?
  5. Great action shot of the Cottonmouth, Swayze.
  6. The tag on our Vitex recommended pruning each year to keep the foliage manageable. We have had ours over 3 years now and prune them back each year in the fall/winter. You also need to keep cutting the blooms off if you want them to continue producing new blooms through the summer.
  7. Is there a way to cook chicken strips (fresh not frozen) in an air fryer that tastes good? I did some dipped in buttermilk, then breaded in flour and panko bread crumbs. I sprayed them with olive oil and cooking spray and cooked for 12 minutes. I've never eaten shake and bake chicken, but I'm guessing that is how it tastes. Am I better off sticking with Crisco and a frying pan?
  8. Gave a framed copy of the Travis Letter to my first born son for his First Christmas present.
  9. Get your son a few of the Ian Fleming books to read. They may be dated, but they really establish Bond as a character. I enjoyed the silly humor of Roger Moore's Bond as a kid, but after reading the books, I saw that Sean Connery was the Bond that Fleming wrote (same case could be made for Daniel Craig)
  10. Anyone have any experience with Jack Mason watches? Just noticed their billboard this weekend, they look nice for the price range ($200-$300)
  11. I never realized how much John Sharp looks like Rodney Dangerfield
  12. Lots of good recs in here. We went last summer, family trip. We did a house on Sapodilla Bay, which was great. Las Brisas is great restaurant in that area. Also loved Coco Bistro and Da Conch Shack. Only thing that seemed touristy about the Thursday Fish Fry was hawking cheap t-shirts, the food there was good (well follow the long lines for the best food). We also did a fishing trip with Panoply. It was pricey, but hell, everything in T&C is pricey! We didn't have a bad meal there and every place was kid-friendly. We look forward to going back and visiting some of the other islands like Middle Caicos and Pine Cay.
