More of a testament of Cam Newton than anything regarding Gene Chizek IMHO, my point is that if a terrible coach can go undefeated at place which went winless within a few years, the place is more valuable than one thought haha
No worries, had a feeling that may have been your intention to include them but I honestly had to double check to make sure for U Dub. I like the idea of those who are proven in the pools within the modern era and call it day, but at the same time I kinda feel that College Football requires a "Class System" to survive; otherwise it is essentially an NFL lite and will lose its charm.
Would also cut out Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Washington, and others. Honestly feel that Washington deserves a seat at the table over Oregon, the O in the middle of Autzen means Zero National Championships after all.
Buddy went to UF (has a National Championship Ring) same time when Leak was QB under Urban, same bullshit of Leak and the other players never going to class and many being illiterate. Something about stones and glass houses... Otherwise I didn't know that y'all cared this much to dunk on Bobby after he just passed away, thought y'all were the class of the SEC?
In 1981 they went through a gauntlet Bowden coined Octoberfest; they played at Ohio State, at Notre Dame, at Pitt, and at LSU all back to back. They won most of those games, just lost to Dan Marino Pitt. Crazy to think FSU had schedules like that 40 years ago.
I agree, when I lived there always thought that a MLB team in San Antonio would kill it. Used to go to the games that HEB would put on at the Alamodome, was always a good time.
I always thought Texas wasn't the South too. When I lived in San Antonio the girl I dated there truly believed that Texas was the South. Always felt that Texas is more of its own identity the longer I lived there.
Ahhh the Texas/Ohio St/Texas/Bama//FSU/USC/etc... are evil villains argument. I just assumed if they hate you, embrace it. It just means those other fan bases are jealous of ya
His son Terry said it was pancreatic cancer, that really sucks. Glad Bobby is in good spirits during this all, he is a great guy and wish him the best on his remaining days. Thanks Bobby for building FSU, we would be nothing without you.
I agree that the Big XII would be harder opponent wise for Nebraska; however I believe Nebraska recruiting would more than likely improve in the Big XII due to having greater exposure within the State of Texas. Arkansas would have an easier schedule due to being out of the SEC West. Either team will be in a premier league so a 10-2 Arky/ Nebbers would probably have a much higher probability in a hypothetical Big XII vs their current homes with an expanded playoffs.
Not sure why Texas or OU would want to leave the Big XII when they are in better position to remain kings of their domain. If I was the Big XII I would push Nebraska and Arkansas to join the conference. I am sure both school will display hubris on being in a "better" conference; however both know in their hearts that they belong in the Big XII due to historic rivalries, geographical fit, and most importantly having a better chance to actually make the playoffs.
