  1. I can't believe they still haven't fixed the portal window nonsense. It's absolutely ridiculous that it coincides with the playoffs (and give me a break about spring semester nonsense, figure it out). It got a lot of publicity last year when Malik felt like he had no choice but to leave before the Sugar Bowl. Wait until this year when it impacts all 12 or at least 8 teams. Just wait until someone playing for the title deals with injuries and is impacted by losing key depth pieces they should have on the roster because the powers that be in college athletics are absolute morons.
  2. I saw he came in when they were up a ton against whatever shit team they played before Auburn and he completely sucked including throwing a bad pick. Unless that was all a ruse seems like he is probably done as 3rd string that came in later looked better apparently. Crazier things have happened in football with backup QB's for sure, but he's been ineffective enough I imagine we could adjust ok on the fly if necessary.
  3. $500 for the absolute shit seats in the zone is still really damn impressive (I sat there in 2011 and won't again). It's a one time auto price bump for renewal of rivalry combined with most meaningful Texas/Aggy game since 1995 so I'm not surprised by pricing. I was going to pay what it took to make the renewal game even if well more than I wanted to pay and I know quite a few other horns that felt the same.
  4. Completely fucked this game up. Damn
  5. Michigan was a cool atmosphere (I was there) but it's not going to be anything like this Saturday night.
  6. Feels right to me. There is going to be a lot of $$ coming in on A&M ML as a home dog in a rivalry game.
  7. My aggie cousin made the same point that apparently A&M never gets holding calls go against them. Of course, we've seen us get a soft or non-existent holding call damn near every conference game. Something has got to give this week.
  8. Sorry to tell you this but nobody obsesses with you dude. You just have frequently terrible yet extremely confident takes that people react to. Then you get incredibly defensive and verbose, and then it goes on and on. For like a decade or more straight LOL.
  9. I watched the press conference. It was the typical non-chalant non-answer Sark (or any other coach in America) would give to that question. Especially considering they haven't practiced today. There was absolutely nothing to take from it. So of course some idiot $9.95er would try to read something into it.
  10. You are right. A ton of posters quoted it because it was a fair, balanced nuanced take and not typical Derka Derkaing a topic. We're all wrong and you are right. Per usual.
  11. Because giving fucking zero credit for success to the player that plays the most important position on the team is pure idiocy.
  12. JFC. That's certainly a take.
  13. Agree with this. Tech has herd mentality of drunk morons (as does Ohio State) whihc you don't get at A&M. But you are right there are absolutely going to be a handful of die hard Ags that will not be able to mentally handle losing to Texas if it happens and will snap.
  14. Creating big momentum changing defensive plays is how they win the game. I think both sides know it. Will be interesting to see how Sark schemes it. And yes, 3's ankle a huge wildcard. Of all the games I would want a healthy Ewers over Arch it is this one.
  15. I haven't really had too bad of an experience there to date (believe this will be my 8th trip). I'll be tailgating at my aggy cousin's tailgate that will have a decent mix of Texas fans. Have several aggy friends I look forward to seeing. A&M has always been more cordial in my experience compared to Tech for example but maybe just due to mixed friendships/family. I do get the feeling it may get a bit more heated this year. If they beat us they will be absolutely miserable and if they lose probably some drunks that will be best to avoid. I'll be sitting with my wife in an aggy section with no known backup so that will be interesting. I thought about buying a Texas Schloss baseball jersey and wearing it but that might just be asking for trouble LOL.
  16. Yep. I was there for that one as a young 15 year old. Great day. Will be there Saturday night as well. Can't wait.
  17. Aggy. At least that's pretty consistent looking at advanced stats. Pretty clear to me biggest issue coming into game week is Quinn's ankle. This game probably more than any other is a game I want a healthy 3 behind center. People can claim Kyle Field is "overrated" all they want but it's going to be an absolute fucking madhouse Saturday night and they are going to play aggressive as hell and try to win with big plays on D. I feel pretty good about our chances if 3 is healthy.
  18. This was my read of the situation from the stands. I don't think he was concerned even after that play. I also tend to think if it wasn't senior day maybe he sits Quinn. Real test is going to be next week. If ankle not healed and he is a sitting duck for that A&M rush D (I have zero doubt Elko will 100% be aggressive as hell and live with the results) does he turn to Arch? I know he doesn't want a controversy but Quinn was night and day yesterday before and after injury. Post injury Quinn will not beat A&M. You could see it immediately the play after it happened and for the rest of that drive. I'm sure they weren't showing it on TV but bad body language trying to fight through it obviously hurting.
  19. Our kicking game is a joke. Obviously not a coaching issue. It's a talent issue. We have a top 3 D and top 10 O and a bottom tier ST's. We did a hell of a job overall with roster construction this year but dropped the ball here obviously. Need to get better next year. Those 10+ yards we are losing on average on each punt really adds up and has helped keep teams in games. It will really hurt us against better teams in the playoffs.
  20. Preach Sark. Too many Texas fans are irrational and shitty just as water is wet. We've somehow already reverted back to Ohio State/Georgia/Bama level of expectations despite being the epitome of average (and at times worse) for well over a decade until '23. I was as frustrated at times during the Arkie game as anyone but the amount of bitching I've seen almost a week later about a 10 point road win where we kneeled the ball out in the red zone has been exhausting. You don't have to look far over at OU and their current trajectory to remember that regardless of how the rest of this season plays out we are in fact finally living in the good times again.
  21. Nice bounce back after Monday's shitter
  22. The throw he made against OU 49-0 between 2 defenders to JT was as elite as they come. I think that is the reason for the frustration with Quinn. Fair or not, you show that kind of potential your first year as a starter, the expectations are that you play at a high to elite level consistently by 3rd year. My personal expectations were, barring injury, no doubt he would be at the heisman ceremony. It's expectations relative to performance that is the source of the complaints I think. He's been a really good QB for us. I think everyone hopes he can take us on a 3 game heater to end the season and snag a playoff bye and he is 100% capable of doing that.
  23. They are just different QB's. That aside, Sam was more consistent. Quinn is better than Sam overall when he is "on" IMO without much question. I'm not sure Sam could have won that game @ Bama last year. But Quinn's floor is lower. When his fastball isn't working, he doesn't have Sam's ability to make things happen with his legs.
  24. It's a solid spot to watch games. Pretty much my go to in town if there is a game on I want to see and I'm not watching from a Sportsbook.
  25. Right. I edited too slowly. There was a calculator someone posted somewhere yesterday that let you play out outcomes and it had us in over Georgia I believe which made no sense.
