Given the overall lack of bitching in this thread about the press conference answers you can tell it's week 1.

Seeing that game is going to be about 90, muggy as hell, with a 60% chance of rain, I suggest we all retire indoors to the club level for cocktails and shenanigans. the price differential is quite minimal, almost alarmingly so...
That's my plan!

So the guy with a 12 yd running head start locked the guy running sideways off his feet and we are shocked? That's your take on that play? Warren probably had at least 25 pounds on the guy. He absolutely should have fared well better than that. Hell, I'm certainly no Porter defender but he would have fared better than that.

This shit never gets old. For any school.

The most amazing part of that press conference is it did more to justify why Urban should have been fired.
The actual "facts" in the report (i.e., wiping his phone) combined with all the other shit easily gave them enough to fire him for cause. It's unreal they made all of this known and came down with such a slap on the wrist. Ohio St. is confirming to the rest of the country what any of us that visited that shit hole in 2005 learned then. Absolute disgrace of a university.

For getting to the game from downtown (not renting a car), is Metro the way to go? Looks like a straight shot on the blue line about a block off our hotel (Sofitel). Any benefit to Uber? Per google, it doesn't seem like the Uber Pick up/Drop Off lot gets you that much closer but let me know if anyone has done both.

I've always said there probably isn't much of a difference between the way Stoops and Briles ran their programs. It will be interesting to see if Riley continues the Sooner tradition.

Again, anyone that visited Columbus in 05 isn't the least bit surprised about the reaction of Ohio St fans to all of this. They are flat out THE worst fan base in the country. Period. It isn't close.

Ohio State fans are some of the worst shitbags I have ever encountered. Fuck them and their wife-beating enabling bullshit. I hope all of this is true.
Seriously. No idea why we scheduled those fucks again. I'll never step foot in that State again after 2005 if I can manage it. Other than the game, worst road trip experience ever.

I knew Fox got rights last year because ABC snagged TX-US and (I think) OU/OSU. What games did ABC pick first this year allowing TX-OU to fall to Fox? Assuming TX-USC was one of them.

Looking like a 3:00p start on FOX/FS1.
Huh? Looking like that where?

If you are actively losing lots of weight/burning fat, it might jack up some of your lab results. From what I've read weight needs to plateau for a couple of months.

Heading down next week. Mosquito issue any better for those that have been recently?

Hard to blame him. Get your $$ while you can.

Just received an email. Season ticket holders can buy extra through TEXASSPORTS today if needed before they go on sell to general public.........
Yeah, they are down to singles. I bought a pair for friends at the initial season ticket sale in the corners, but what is odd is they didn't release anything between the yard lines. Yet, based on season tix still available, there are lots of premium seats (tied to massive minimum donations) unsold. I wonder if UT is going to monetize via stubhub or sell to corporate at a premium.
-
Edit. These actually sold at ridiculous price via stubhub.

From what we know of Herman I think it's safe to assume he's a pretty big asshole if you don't buy in. I don't see him being shy about his expectations with recruits so really don't see this being an issue.

Deshon seems like he never bought in which isn't surprising considering he's probably marrying Charlie Strong's daughter. Not exactly going to be hard for the coaches to combat. I have a feeling Herman is pretty direct in recruiting that if you aren't all in then Texas isn't the place for you.

Deshon seems like he sucks. Good riddance.

18 to 37 is a pretty wide range. Pretty disingenuous to include 18-25 year olds in analysis of retirement savings. A median for those between the age of 30-37 would be more interesting and would probably still support the position that they aren't on pace to retire by 6.

Rockets are only currently off the board at Golden Nugget. It's advantageous if you want to take futures on Golden State number of wins because you get one of their main contenders out. GS futures on most win on Western Conference is almost a guaranteed lock without the Rockets.
How would the Rockets taken off the betting board impact win totals on a different team? If you are saying they have an alternative future bet for western conference champ that excludes the rockets, clearly they would adjust odds accordingly.

Great Reminder tonight why original Al Beirnat's remains best in class in Dallas. Had a Filet/Lobster special that was phenomenal. Wife had a Texas Wagyu ribeye that was probably better (with leftovers I will go to work on tomorrow). Sides of Mac + creamed spinach were legit. It's been 2+ years since we last went (and harder now to go anywhere with a kiddo) but definitely will prioritize more visits. So much on that menu I want to try.

Fox has to be so pissed. Paid all of that money for broadcasting rights only to have it conflict with College Football/NFL
