  1. After watching the first 2 games I will say that defensively the athleticism this team brings will give anyone they face trouble as long as they stay disciplined. With their range there's no reason to over help or trail cutters. If they keep everything in front of them and make folks have to play over the top, they're going to be a handful cause they should be monsters on the defensive glass with all the length they have there. The guards controlling dribble penetration is paramount as that will keep those bigs out of foul trouble and on the court for that rim protection. But that goes for Kai, GB3 & Sims as well. When they get out on the perimeter there's no reason for them to be overly aggressive, just let those littles try to shoot over you and if they try to drive use that length and athleticism to stem their penetration. No reason their feet should ever get outside the arc imo.

Offense is stll basic as we still don't run any semblance of a set. Just pick & rolls with a few dribble handoffs mixed in. I'd like to see them set a rule that the majority of 3s should come off catch and shoot opportunities. There's almost no reason for them to dribble into a 3. And if they drive with the intent on looking for cutting bigs, that in essence should be the focus of our offense. Catch it on the perimeter and if they close out too hard use that quickness to get into the paint. But not to force a finish, but rather force the D to collapse and hit one of those uber athletic bigs with rim cuts. Cause those guys CAN FINISH and score OVER just about anyone (bare in mind they will get fouled so hopefully they improve there. Sims FT stroke looks a lot better). But i'll be honest with you, throwing the ball to Sims or Kai in spots where they have to create shots for themselves other than a 1 dribble finish is a liability imo. They are not throw it into the post and let them work kind of bigs. They're more finishers to me. Granted i din't include GB in that as i've yet to see him get it in the post and try to work to get a shot. I did see him cut off a screen into the lane and get a beautiful AND-1. That kind of cutting action is gonna be deadly with him.

Looking forward to see this team develop. As many have mentioned, there's talent size and athleticism galore. Excited to see where it all ends up!

I’d rather play at 12:30 so we don’t have to compete with MSU/Duke or Kentucky/Kansas. I want to watch those too.

    TexasSports says 12:30

ESPN has it as a 12:30pm CST tip as well. I'm with you. I'm working from home, so don't mind the early tip either.

  3. I doubt either of them get traded before the season starts. Especially Russ. His stock is so low now, they'd need to wait until he plays well in the regular season before teams get interested enough to make meaningful offers.

Harden just needs to accept that he's here for the foreseeable future. He has no leverage now that it's known he's interested in being moved. And it's the NBA. Players don't holdout due to the restrictions in their CBA

I usually advocate taking the best player available, and if you are drafting for need you move up or down to get value. A lot of high end RB sitting on the board right now, but I doubt BoB would take one. Even if David Johnson is 100%, would you really pass up Swift or Dobbins? If so, trade down a little and get another 4th to build more low cost depth. BoB is going to fuck us again this offseason and pick that Iowa corn boy AJ Esperanto.

As for tonight, i generally agree with this kind of approach. However, with the embarrassing performance in which the defense would still be hemorrhaging points had the clock not run out...I absolutely see defense as a TOP priority. I'll take anything on that side of the ball not only this pick but the next one as well. I don't care what offensive players are available. There's an absolute need there if you consider yourself a contender. You should know w/o a doubt that ur not nearly capable of dealing with a team like KC...if you're doing any kind of real self-assessing that is!

  5. If's and buts - I know. But if you had the choice would you keep Derion Conley & Duke Johnson or would you all rather have those additional 3rd round picks right now? Meaning you'd have (4) picks tonight instead of (2). I know which way i'd lean. I'd personally like to have the picks that were used for those guys instead. That's just me and my revisionism.

Jordan would’ve never followed someone like DWade around like a little puppy dog.

As Jordan said, from his first day on the Bulls he targeted the team captain and went after him. LBJ was perfectly happy to be second fiddle to someone who wasn’t as good as him.

Not to pick and it could just be a matter of interpretation, but when he made that statement, I took it as though he was talking about seeking out "other" teams captains. Not necessarily the captain of the current Bulls teams. To me he was talking about his place in the league in general - rather than just that Bulls team.

  7. It's so hard to say differentiate right now - what' is Jimmy's authentic "real" emotion or thought process or what's part of some long con. I love that aspect of it, cause it makes certain things impossible to try to predict. But it's also part of what Kim's apprehension is based on. She doesn't know for sure what Jimmy's end game is going to really be going forward. Part of that uncertainty is that Jimmy doesn't know dam himself half the time.

I love how they shoot him contemplating/2nd guessing certain decisions, in real time. He considers doing the right thing and following Kim's wishes only to not be able to help himself and ends up going threw with it anyway (or at least to some degree). Same thing with Lalo Salamanca...he sees the family of the victim in the court room, camera sits on him thinking it over, but ultimately snaps back into Saul Goodman and finishes the sell job.

As Kim said though, now with all that's transpired, how will she ever really know if she's part of the con or actually the uninformed mark/target of the scheme (like she was in the Mesa Verde situation)?

Just great TV, imo...i actually find myself anticipating the tension in certain scenes and pausing it just to get myself ready to watch the intensity that's to come!

  8. Really digging the show thus far. A few corny lines that make you roll your eyes, but plenty of good stuff that overcomes it.

Both Terry and Heath left town and got infected, returned home and then left town again - creating the opportunities which lead to their demise (and that of the victims). But whatever's happening to the Jack character and whatever happened to the chick, don't look to include either of them leaving town. Wondering if this is an intentional pattern change or more coincidental?

Also in the other situations, not only are the victim and "host" impacted significantly, but the families are tragically affected as well: Chick's family & victim's; Heath's family (not sure about his victim's or maybe just didn't pick up on it); but definitely Terry's victim's family. Curious why then the Maitlands haven't experienced as much 'grief' as the other affected families?

  9. I thought the Episode was excellent. There's definitely an element of supernatural at play here & the new Private Investigator's perspective is a great prism, I think at least, to see that through.

The Maitland daughter staring at the mom while she slept crept me out. And her descriptions of her "visitor's" 4 different appearances adds to certain theories that are out there & could help explain the fingerprint belt buckle mystery being for the same person, only they're ancient years apart in age.

The alcoholic cop doesn't seem to be involved with Maitland's situation but looks ready to become the next victim/host himself!

I may have had too many adult bevs during the NFL games, but for some reason i failed to follow/understand the jailhouse subplot and where that fit into the episode.
