  1. L 0-3 L 1-9 W 4-2 L 2-7 L 1-16 That's 5 games against OU this year for us. In our previous four games, they had outscored us by 17 runs total. I don't give a shit who they run ruled the first 20 games of the season. By your reasoning, Texas should have taken the 2nd place trophy after beating OSU and moved on with their summer.
  2. I have watched just about every televised game this season, and every inning of the post season regardless of teams. I attend as many games as possible in person, including the entire St. Pete/Clearwater invitational, and I coached at the highest level of travel ball for 14 years. If you think those intangibles are BS, I would suggest that maybe you are the one who hasn't watched many games, or maybe you never played sports. Texas played soft and uninterested last night, regardless of opponent. They played with a lack of intensity, and couldn't make routine plays. If you think Alyssa Washington's and Mia Scott's inability to catch a thrown ball are a direct reflection of OU's greatness, then I don't know what to tell you. Same could be said for JJ Smith swinging wildly at first pitches following a walk. OU's team is loaded, and maybe the best offensive team of all time, but history this season shows that they are not 15 runs better than this Horns team.
  3. I've never really understood playing scared in a non combat/contact sport. I mean all of these players know each other and played against each other their entire lives thru travel ball and now at college. What the hell is there to be scared of?
  4. Ok, so I am mostly disappointed by the Horns total lack of fight. This was the team I saw in Clearwater. Several times, we had kids swinging freely immediately after a walk was issued. We played defense like the softball was a hand grenade, our pitchers couldn't hit their spots, and our hitters couldn't hit their asses with both hands. It was embarrassing to watch, so I can't imaging how it felt for the players on the field. Unfortunately, only one of those groups can do anything about it. We will see tonight if they have any fight left in them or if they are just happy to be there.
  5. She could hit for them, but she ain’t starting at 2B. Iakopo is better than either of their catchers
  6. Uhhh, she ain’t fat.
  7. Is this game being played in Clearwater
  8. I know this seems like a lost cause, but we are not out of it. Get 3 outs and go score a couple. Pressure flows both ways
  9. Dolcini only has spin left, as she has lost a lot of velocity. When you are over amped, you throw thru the spin. Both pitchers had this issue, we got 1 run, they got 5. The difference is Trautwine missed out of the zone and Dolcini missed fat
  10. Score first, score early, and score often. Now we need a shutdown inning from Dolcini
  11. You can not swing at the 1st pitch there
  12. I’m a little surprised, I thought he would start Czech.
  13. The only way I know of online is The ESPN ap
  14. 25 minutes to first pitch. Time to shock the whole damn world!
  15. Enjoy every minute of the journey, regardless of how long it actually last, the memories will be there forever.
  16. The Horns are all I have left in this game that I love. My daughter finished her college career 2 years ago, and the last 3 kids from our travel teams all finished up this year as well. It was awesome seeing UCF, San Diego St., and Michigan all make regional competitions, as I was able to root for those 3 kids one more time.
  17. I will watch every inning of however many games we have left, as this team has earned that from me. Regardless of the outcome, I will never forget the ups and downs of this season. I agree that this would be the biggest upset in WCWS history, but as the girls say, "Why not us?"
  18. This game has so much to offer in the way of compelling viewership. Glad you are on board.
  19. Those people have been posting fire Sark for the last year with no luck.
  20. I would also add that our pitchers have to stay ahead in the count. OU players feast early and when ahead in the count. They tend to shorten up and hit more ground balls when behind. Then we pray the softball Gods have them hit it at us.
  21. The recipe for success against this team is to keep Jayda Coleman off the bases and make them hit 4-5 solo HR to win. Texas will need great pitching/defense and 5-6 runs to beat this team. OU has shown in their 3 losses that they get frustrated and press at the plate when they struggle. If we let them get going early, they will steamroll us
  22. Dolcini now that her arm is dead.
  23. I thought the team was going to implode after Clearwater. There was obviously something going on internally with them that they were carrying into games. Poor defense is a result of poor concentration and effort. Texas was suffering from both. There was talk on this very board that Mike White was in trouble. Somehow, this team rallied around him and each other, and they are now maybe the most cohesive group in the country. I have never witnessed a turnaround like this, at this level, late in the season. Win or lose over the next few days, I will always remember 2022.
  24. You could field a National Championship team of kids that were slighted on the recruiting trail.
