We have tickets for the show on Sunday.  I'm really looking forward to it.

If they remake The Sound of Music, though, I don't know if I could stomach it.

It was bad and I'm a big fan of musicals and Carrie Underwood's voice and legs.

Colareb makes decent straps for relatively cheap ~40-60. Search Amazon. I have the names of different strap makers I've bought custom made straps from. What is your price range and what are you looking for, e.g. NATO style, leather, exotic leather, etc.?

Take a look at the pic above. Any ideas what that strap is?  That watch comes with a black Horween strap which I don't think that is.  I like that refined thin, reddish brown leather with the stitching.  Thanks....

All the time with my Vacheron. The quick change is awesome.

Do you source them online or locally?  I'm over in the Newport News area every few months ( I like eating at Water Street Grille in old Yorktown area by the Coleman bridge) if there is a shop I should look at around there or Va Beach.

They provide us cheap labor, the driving force behind a lot of our economy, specifically Texas.

everything about Wall ignores this and I fear it's winning in the public opinion.

One would hope that this would finally be the impetus for Congress to actually come up and pass a full comprehensive immigration policy that included huge fines for employers hiring illegals, a very generous/open worker visa program, and a secure border.  If we have laws on the books about legal entry, then enforce them or change them as selective enforcement of any law is incredibly dangerous.  I also would love to see a list of what the punishment is for each country (Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, etc) if an American enters (or overstays) illegally. Maybe we should just copy it for each.  You want to change a bad law, then the easiest way is to enforce it fully.

Just got one of these sent from Hong Kong. Looks amazing on a leather band. Merry Christmas to me

Do some of y'all with several daily wear watches change up the strap/bracelet back and forth just for a different look?  If so, where do you source the different straps?  OEM, custom leather shops, online shops?

Seems like this would be marketing 101. A generic butthole isn't going to generate the same amount of interest as say an Alyssa Milano starfish.

We know that you originally wrote Brad Pitt starfish, and then changed it right before hitting submit.

Fair enough - hyperbole got the best of me.
More accurate would have been “who will he intentionally hurt?” He’s going to do so. The fact that nukes are among his potential tools is a big fucking problem.

Serious question,....are you just venting over Trump's idiocy, or do you truly believe that he (or whomever is POTUS) has the unilateral ability to order/launch nukes without several others in the chain?

Nomos is good.  They have an aesthetic they adhere to (Bauhaus) and do much of their work in-house.  That's something you won't get in the Swiss world until you're in 5 digit territory.  They offer many case sizes which is really refreshing.

Some of my colleagues who aren't "watch people" have Nomos because it's supporting small scale independent businesses.

The nice thing about Nomos is offering horsehide strap.  Very fit for purpose.  I have a Ludwig and a sundial as a trinket (check it out).

I need to go see one in person at a dealer, because if I decide it do it, the dial color from looking at pictures is all over the place.  I like what that pic I found shows, but then I also see pictures of it (the same model which looks to me like the Tangente 38 Datum #130) which are almost pure white.  I don't want a pure white one.  And then the price has quite a range depending upon country and dealer.

The other guy with Sinn 956....fucking fantastic

It really is.  I wish I could get a Sinn and a Nomos to go on vacation together and make a baby.

  9. One of the problems with buying a new watch, is that unless you are saturated or tapped out, you start to look around more at different ones or similar ones or even complimentary ones to what you may recently purchased.  With buying that new Sinn 6099 mentioned above , and it being the holiday season, I have had an opportunity to look and read about many out there.  My German fetish is fairly pure and I have had for daily wear my Sinn 104 for awhile, but while researching for my 6099 purchase, I came across another watch maker, Nomos-Glashutte.  The minimalist design of these is just fascinating and quite a change from my Sinns.  Take a look at this picture I found online:

    nomos.jpg

Wow is that beautiful to me (the watch, not the hairy beast wearing it) and such a contrast to my others.  Has anyone here had a Nomos and can give feedback?  They make their own movement and reading about them it seems they are well thought of.  I am about as far from a snob as possible, but it also appears that Nomos markets a bit differently than other luxury watch brands in that you can buy them anywhere, even thru Amazon (though the price isn't the best).  What sayeth the Surly Watch Mafia?   And no, I can't justify the purchase of an A. Lange & Sohne to satisfy any of my German desires. LOL.

His dad, Frank, was the head coach at WVU after the Hoopies ran some failed dope named Bobby Bowden out of town.

It was obvious he was a bum and would never amount to anything as a head coach.
