  1. While the gas is a good deal for the customers, Costco does make a profit on the gas
  2. I almost bought a place in Panorama Towers right across highway from Aria. This was way back 2009-2011 when the real estate got whacked and nice condos were a deal. But i wasn’t going to move out there full time. I should have pulled the trigger could have made decent money and had a sweet place to stay.
  3. They passed a local ordinance banning the cards from littering and that mostly ended the practice. Seems like that happened a few years ago.
  4. Holy crap that’s gonna be something if enforced at all. But I assume passed out sleeping or selling bottled water still okay.
  5. Since Covid I just haven’t jumped back into the routine of regular or even semi regular poker. Probably will get back into it at some point. On a big trip right now in Thailand (Bangkok and Koh Samui) and headed to Singapore next will see if they have poker at Marina Bay Sands that’s an amazing casino can’t wait to see it.
  6. The black book explained (LVRJ): A new name was added in December to Nevada’s List of Excluded Persons, the so-called “black book” listing of individuals who are forever banned from Nevada casinos. Mississippi resident Shaun Joseph Benward, a self-described magician and illusionist who worked with an accomplice to distract roulette dealers in schemes to steal money from casinos, was the 36th entry on the list after a vote by the Nevada Gaming Commission. What exactly is the “black book?” According to the Control Board, it’s a list of persons compiled since 1960 of persons involved in casino cheating that have a felony conviction, have committed a crime involving “moral turpitude” or violating gaming laws in other states, have failed to disclose an interest in a gaming establishment, willfully evaded paying taxes or have a “notorious and unsavory reputation,” as defined by state and federal investigators. Gaming industry leaders offer suggestions to regulators about individuals who should be placed on the list. The state’s attorney general’s office evaluates a prospective addition, investigates the individual’s record, then compiles a detailed report. That report summarizes the individual’s transgressions and concludes with a proposal nominating that person to the list through a review and vote by the three-member Gaming Control Board. While gathering the report takes hours of investigation and research by the attorney general’s office, the session before the Control Board takes about 15-30 minutes. Once approved, the individual is then notified of the nomination and can request a hearing before the five-member Nevada Gaming Commission to oppose inclusion and can be represented by legal counsel who can gather evidence to counter the allegations. The commission then has the authority to place the name on the list and it becomes a licensee’s responsibility to keep that person out of the casino. Persons listed on the black book found in casinos can face new misdemeanor criminal charges. Exceptions to the rule are small restricted licensees, such as convenience stores, restaurants, bars and taverns. In the case of Benward, the attorney general’s office offered a full report in September and the nomination was unanimously approved. Through a lengthy notification process, it took until late December to prepare for the agenda item to formally place the name on the list. Unlike some other states, Nevada Control Board agents that oversee the list have purposely kept it small over the years in order to list only the worst of the worst. Over time, the focus of the list has changed with most of the initial inductees being organized crime figures. Among the earliest names on the list: John Louis Battaglia, Michael Coppola, Louis Tom Dragna, Sam Giancana, and Tony “The Ant” Spilotro. After the wave of reputed mobsters was added, cheaters who used mechanical devices or distraction techniques were targeted. Most recently, regulators took a step toward outlawing persons with a history of human trafficking to be banned. Once a person is named to Nevada’s List of Excluded Persons, they’re there for life – although they can appeal that. No one has ever successfully appealed their placement. Every couple of years, the attorney general’s office reviews the whereabouts of persons on the list and will seek a regulatory action to purge the names of persons they can confirm have died. https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/what-is-nevadas-black-book-2974761/
  7. Guess they need a space with lots of available land so near Primm fits the bill. Would almost be considered another LA area airport lol If they ever got high speed rail running that could almost be a workable location
  8. I finally hit one for the first time last year with quad 3s for $599
  9. Fontainbleau casino now open on the north part of the strip looks nice. 4 pics in the link:
  10. Texas is back! Sushihorn is back?!
  11. Wu tang residency
  12. They fixed the car and had a 10 place penalty no way around it because of the rulebook. He got hosed after qualifying 2nd and then started in 12th. The race was better than expected given the setup. I could have gone but opted to sit out year one with the potential clusterfuck situation. Word is the logistics weren’t too bad for fans. It was a big deal event for sure. Private jet parking overbooked and jets did drop off and had to park in adjacent states. And the money fronted before the weekend for gambling set records, beating out the big fight weekends.
  13. 5 Star culture and 5 Star players
  14. Off to a hot start: Tempers flared at the Las Vegas Grand Prix after the first practice of the $500 million race was halted nine minutes into the session Thursday night because Carlos Sainz Jr. ran over a water valve cover that badly damaged his Ferrari. The FIA said Sainz hit the concrete frame around the cover. It took another 11 minutes for the governing body to call all cars off track so it could inspect the entire circuit. The start of a second practice scheduled for midnight Thursday was delayed, and Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur raged that the "just unacceptable" incident would keep Sainz from participating. Ferrari had to replace the entire chassis and other components and was summoned to speak to F1's stewards to determine if the repairs would draw a penalty. Video:
  15. Instagram reels has pics from the plane but can’t see anyone else
  16. He’s been on my flight also, Carrot Top not SC ha. I chatted with him before boarding he was friendly. It was quite bizarre because these 2 girls sitting in front of coach were flying to Vegas to get married and they asked the FA to ask Carrot Top (who was in first) if they could get a picture with him. Dude got up and went back in aisle and took a pic with them mid flight. Never seen that before. But if you search his social media (I don’t recommend this ha) over the years he’s posted videos about behavior of people on planes so let’s keep an eye out for the SC edition? Without knowing any of the facts, I’m already gonna take SC side of any argument. Carrot Top is pretty whacky IRL as one might expect.
  17. Vintner Grill in Summerlin Sen of Japan or Kaizen Fusion for sushi
  18. When you live in Houston and Dallas and have access to the best steak joints in the country, going to one in Vegas is generally for different reasons, if at all. So I pretty much only go to STK at Cosmo on occasion and that’s for the party atmosphere and hot girls. I’m mostly worthless when asked about where to get steaks in Vegas. I’m usually focused on any other type of restaurant except perhaps Mexican food (and obviously BBQ) when in town. Having said that, it is understandable that a group of guys like to have a bachelor party meal at a steak place or maybe people don’t live near awesome steakhouses.
  19. One lengthy review just out today. More or less favorable. I’ve also never made the trek out to Brooklyn for the original. http://www.eatinglv.com/
  20. The video showed that it looks totally done. I thought one of the gossip guys said open Nov 1 but when you click a link to make a reservation it is showing open in 2 days on Thursday October 19.
  21. I believe November 1st
  22. Peter Luger now accepting reservations
  23. I’m not sure what the percentages are but if you travel around the country you will find many places where it is a button straddle. I’ve seen it in Florida and Mississippi. I had been more used to the UTG straddle.
  24. I did it once, technically. Long time ago the cute HR girl at my firm was a sooner and she had access to some vender tickets front row in the upper deck on about the 45 yard line on the Sooner side. We won the game and I was pretty close to non-methead side so it was a winning day all around plus I realized how great the view was in that location. I wouldn’t venture any further into enemy territory though.
