Why? People in the country put their animals down every day for legitimate reasons. I don’t think her target demo would find anything remarkable about her doing the same.

Unless what she wrote is being grossly misrepresented that’s not what happened.

Careful this isn’t the opposite of the “Trump is winning young voters” phenomenon. Polling is just broken

I get it but I trust NPR more than the others. Also their gross numbers match what the others are showing ie it’s a dead heat, and for the reasons above that have us all worried. If you look at the sub polls and consider historically who gets out and actually votes, it’s very worrisome for Trump. I mean I guess it’s possible that a group that historically doesn’t vote will turn out for Trump in record numbers, but I doubt it. And if fewer of an already small percentage stay home instead of voting for Biden, it’s not nearly as meaningful as over 45 men flipping to Biden and the elderly preferring him by 12 points

  3. In many of these situations mom has psych and or substance abuse issues. From having friends who foster, I know two who had young children (both toddlers) in their homes whom the court subsequently removed from foster in favor of blood relatives. In both cases they eventually returned to the foster families who were then allowed to adopt them. The lucky one came back with a cast on his arm. The other has cortical blindness from blunt trauma to the head

She then told a story of an individual coming into her restaurant and paying for food.

“Just recently I had a migrant come into my cafe that recently passed through the borders and paid for their food with one of the prepaid cards they were given,” said Gray. “How is that as a slap in the face as a proud American who worked hard, just like each one of you? And to be affected by the food costs, utility costs, to have someone just come and just willy nilly pay for their food, in my cafe, with prepaid dollars that was funded by us.”

But Gray, according to federal court records, has received her own prepaid food.

She has filed for bankruptcy three times in the past decade and reported receiving Food Share benefits in the most recent filing.

Gray, in an interview, acknowledged receiving the benefits, but said there is a difference: she is a U.S. citizen. “I have worked since I was 16,” said Gray, 45. “I paid into the system.”

Tesla is recoverable but it doesn’t appear that Elon is taking 1 step to do so. He refuses to acknowledge that his actions are the reason for the downfall.

A few years ago I had decided that my next vehicle would be a Tesla. Now there is a zero chance that I would buy one. I don’t trust that Elon doesn’t have the ability to remotely kill any Tesla just because he gets mad at 3am. And I don’t mean kill my hypothetical Tesla but all teslas.

He actually thinks they all belong to him

Ok. I'm going to give you the magic phrase to try...

    "Now imagine they're all black."

On a serious note I have a few older black patients who farm/ranch. Very few of their kids have any interest in helping out. They can’t even get their grandkids to come out to ride horses, shoot guns, etc. much less shred the pasture, repair fences, vaccinate and castrate livestock and such. We have the same issue with our family farm. The only people willing to do this work seem to be families from southern Mexico and Central America. And their kids aren’t following in the parents’ footsteps. It’s going to be a big problem in the near future I’m afraid

The truly amazing thing is that she thought that telling that story would somehow be good for her political career.

the most disenfranchised American is still better off than 90+% of the world

The bigger indicator for societal strife is not absolute poverty levels, it’s relative disparity between the haves, and have nots. It’s a really big problem in our country and it’s only getting bigger.

Honestly, have you posted this before because I feel like I'm having deja vu.  Anyway, I agree with the second part 100%...but I think you misread my first part.  I'm against mass immigration, not for it.

i’m pretty sure I have. I’m not arguing that you are pro mass immigration, just pointing out that the Republican party is and why.

I think by just about any objective measure it is clear that mass immigration is not only beneficial but necessary for our country to continue prospering. That’s obviously fodder for a different thread

country" - I think mass immigration is bad.  I've explained why before, but if asked I can rehash it.  But, it's not very salacious.

Both sides agree mass immigration is great. One side wants it to be legal and above board. The other side wants to keep it illegal for campaign scare tactics and an inexhaustible supply of cheap labor

you can fix illegal immigration tomorrow by making it a 10 year penitentiary crime for the CEO of any company caught employing undocumented labor. I wonder why that never gets proposed?

Agree to disagree. What you’re describing in the rest of your post I would call “picking your battles.” But I don’t get the sense from the other posts of yours I have read that that is what you are doing here.

eta I agree with your position that not all authoritarianism is fascism. The current problem here in the US is that the people in power who are trying to implement authoritarian policies check most if not all the fascism boxes

I’ve been reading a lot about this Supercharger team gutting;, all I can really say is that it makes zero sense at all. Of all the moves, this has to be the dumbest one. Their charging network was their strength. It set them apart from any and everyone. You can’t drive anywhere without seeing superchargers. It’s almost frustrating (primarily not seeing non-Tesla chargers).

But it was a thing he understood - if you make EVs you needed a way to charge them at places other than your house. They have the big lead, but if they aren’t working at it, that can shrink or be lost.

Ketamine is a hell of a drug.

You are way overthinking this. People are telling him things he doesn’t want to hear. That’s literally it.
