  1. Pulp at Red Rocks Monday.
  2. Pretty sure it would've been for the land value. The last offer I remember him talking about was five million, and he said he'd sell for ten.
  3. I saw $750k and then $1.1MM in two different places, and I couldn't get the site you used to come up so thanks for that. And if they'd offered him $3.5 or whatever now, then yeah, maybe he waited too long and should've taken it. But these "offers" were in 2017, 2018, and then maybe 2021 was the last one I saw, and the values at that time were under $500k. I find the believability on that one to be right in line with other people I've known who had legendary places in town but were trying to generate unrealistic offers so they could cash out. It's a tactic. The people I've known didn't end up getting their prices.
  4. Yeah, I'll believe that he turned down real offers of $3MM, 3.5MM and 5MM seven years ago on a piece of land valued at less than $750k today. It's hucksterism, but if you want to believe folk tales, go ahead.
  5. He's been spinning that horseshit story for more than ten years now. Every time he tells it the number gets bigger.

    SXSW 2025

Both SoCo Stomp and the Yard Dog party were crammed full and at times in a one out-one in situation. My guess is that was partly because the draw for acts in SXSW proper were weak so people went elsewhere. South Congress was busy as I've ever seen it and downtown was pretty empty.
  7. Pulp in Birmingham in June.
  8. Miller's Crossing White Heat The Long Good Friday The Public Enemy The Friends of Eddie Coyle
  9. Second both of these. I mean, how much bread are you gonna slice? Keep it simple, and those Dexters or Mercers are fine.
  10. Pass your fingers under a stream of water and flick the water off, so that your fingers are just a little damp. Then run them through the beans in the hopper before you grind them. If that doesn't give you guys something to work with, I'm not sure what will.
  11. I saw him at ACL Live five years ago, with Ian Moore opening so there was value added. Trower was great, was just as hot playing as he's ever been and I hadn't seen him since sometime in the mid-80s. His band was fine, nothing special, didn't get in the way so I'd say if you're a Trower fan you probably won't be disappointed.
  12. Yeah, that arm is something on a different level.
  13. Townes Van Zandt, so drunk he fell off his chair after 15-20 minutes of incoherent drunken mumbling at Cactus Cafe.
  14. That's a good price for Choice.
  15. I remember reading something from one of the local pitmasters a while back about chicken and that it took up too much space on the smoker for the amount of $$$ it brought in, and that was why a lot of places stopped serving chicken.
