  1. Hospital my wife works at had 20 admits two weeks ago, 26 one week ago and 44 today. They are working on setting up their negative pressure floor again but running into staffing issues. They relied on a lot of RAC?(think thats what she called them) nurses during the last peak. Also, a lot of the PRNs that made a killing during the winter have been taking the summer off.
  2. free beer saves the world..
  3. Ive taken zero but had 3 antibody tests from donating blood. Going to Cabo in a couple weeks so will have to take my first if they dont lift the return test requirement by then.
  4. Wife and I are vaccinated. I asked the 16 year old if he wanted it and he said no. I havent asked the 13 year old but I bet his answer is the same. These kids have gone to school in person, played soccer, and hung out with friends all year. I'm not going to force them to take the vaccine if they arent comfortable with it at this point.

The state will offer a $100 savings bond to everyone between the ages of 16 and 35 who gets vaccinated, Gov. Jim Justice, a Republican, announced at a Monday briefing
  7. Guidelines are super simple for me. No mask unless I'm flying. Living in NE Texas makes it super easy to follow these simple guidelines.
  8. Yall seriously think a lot of businesses will require a vaccine passport to enter? 95% of the places here dont even require a mask, including some school districts. Went to the fair tonight, hardly a mask to be found. On another note, wife told me they havent had anybody in the covid ICU unit in over two weeks.
  9. I'd say travel about 30 miles each direction and your experience would be much different. I know it is in NE Texas for me.
  10. I dont think people truly umderstand what its been like in NE Texas. Life has been almost normal, few businesses enforcing the mask mandate and even fewer following capacity guidelines.
  11. ive seen those signs outside many stores where its not enforced.
  12. The Walmarts here have taken down the mask signage. It was never enforced anyway.
  13. I guess its selective because the Target here offers a mask to the maskless but dont require it. Of course we are having a fair and rodeo too lol
  14. You can go into any Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc.. without a mask with no questions asked most anywhere in NE TExas.
  15. State mask mandate is over. I guess the rest of the state can catch up with NE Texas now lol
  16. A friend posted this, much smaller scale but same problems ***URGENT*** City of Kilgore Institutes Stage 3 Water restrictions! Normal winter usage is 800 gallons per minute in Kilgore, we are currently at 2,500 gallons per minute (highest usage ever), and we can only produce water at 1,300 gallons per minute. In other words, we're running out of water and we need your help. We've found dozens of homes and businesses with water pouring out from inside where the owner had no idea. Please help out by conserving and looking around to help locate leaks. If you see something, please call it in at 903-984-5081.
