meh, not sure if that even carries much weight anymore. he's yet to show he can help a team win

Yeah but he’s been playing with end-of-days Eli (1 season) and fucking Daniel Jones as the QBs whose passing ability would theoretically open up some running lanes. He’s also played his entire career behind a line that’s somehow been less reliable than ours over the same time period.

Speaking of which, I’m incredibly glad I don’t have Caserio’s job - if I did, we’d be saddled with Evan Neal instead of Stingley. I thought he was going to be a stud but he might not even make it out of his 3rd training camp….

We aren’t beating tech and Baylor on the road.

So yes, we will finish 2-2 or possibly 1-3. That is not out of the realm of possibility. And losing the first game in KC also has a higher probability than most care to admit. It’s going to be dicey down the stretch.

What I worry about now is team morale.

Same here; I didn’t see a lack of effort last night, but the body language once shit started going south had the “here we fucking go again” look to me…

Perhaps we need to define how "important" is used as a descriptor.  Certainly the word can be used within the realm of music, its development, originality, so on and so forth. The same can apply to individual songwriters and musicians.  All within the framework of music.  Innovators, virtuosos, classics, etc.  Sure.  There are surely important people, songs and compositions.

Using "important" as a descriptor when referring to any particular music or musical piece itself or to the musician / composer / singer as if its importance is somehow world-affecting on the macro level seems aggrandizing and silly to me.

I recall a few years ago that Guns and Roses had a new album or a tour that was kicking off and the promotional spot on TV delicately mentioned that it was "the most important" such and such of the last so many years.  Important?  Really?  What makes those meatheads and their music so important?   We're talking GnR here.  Sure, you can really dig them, rock out to them and enjoy them.  Important?  Hardly.

Similarly, Brandi Carlile released The Joke and someone on Surly decreed the song to be "so important!"  Certainly they can like the song.  I agree it is thoughtful, well sung and arranged.  Important?  For someone?  Sure.  Just important because,  "well it's important!"  Nah.

It's just my opinion.  I'm not looking to fight over it.  You asked.

    OK....let's fight.

Do you think that presidential debates are ‘important’?

Texans cap space after the announcement. This guy is a pretty good follow for front office coverage.

You can also add $5.5MM to that total if we part ways with Robert Woods amd $2.5MM for Davis Mills, although for the latter we ought to give him a parting bonus of like $5MM for throwing the TD against Indy in 2022 that brought us CJ….

  6. 2024 cap is $255MM, 30 more than last year and roughly 12 more than Spotrac/Over The Cap have been estimating. Obviously goes up the same for everyone, but probably disproportionately benefits teams who were on the fence about using the franchise tag be those who weren’t. This almost definitely takes guys like Madabuike and Brian Burns off the market….

  7. First spring game today; obviously they don’t mean shit but in the storyline most interesting to me, Jack Leiter had a clean 3-batter inning. If he or White or Kent or whoever could pitch well enough to push their way into the first 5 that really improves our pre-July outlook….

  8. Wonder how many of those misses came mid-3rd quarter or later in a 10 point or less* game; I bet not many. He’s had some misses, but I feel like when shit was tight Bert has responded.

    * - Yeah I know, ‘fewer’ but that looked fucked up when I typed it originally….

SMU? They may still hold a grudge from their death penalty days. They were selling THE LIES OF TEXAS ARE UPON US T-shirts and bumpers stickers even after the NCAA reported that they gathered incriminating evidence from almost 20 schools.

I heard the “seat donation” on one in the last couple years was 100k a year with a 10yr commit. + the cost fo the tickets (and catering) I assume

That’s the catch - on its face it’s dirt cheap but the catering is where they get you….

Let's say #3 UGA loses the CCG and is (12-1). And let's say #15 KSU is 9-3 and wins the Big 12, gets a first round bye, and plays UGA in round two. KSU then defeats UGA.

I suspect UGA will complain that KSU had an undeserved advantage because of the bye. They'll argue it was undeserved because KSU is lower ranked.

Substitute any BIG/SEC team and any XII/ACC team. I suspect it'll happen within the first few years.

To NeverMarry’s point above, in this scenario Georgia would have had a week off after the B12 title game, so the argument is ‘they got 2 weeks off and we only got 1’. I don’t think they get much sympathy, plus if you want the bye, win the fucking CCG…

Related:  5AM flight this morning.  2 different random pairs who just met on the plane, just yammering on about nothing important for 45min/ hour.

Small talk is a waste of time.  Hearing others do it is even more painful.   Shut your pie hole and stop droning on for crisake.

    Fucking this….

OK, i am going to probably come off as a penny pinching rube here, but I have been a season ticket holder for 20 years and have never made a donation - just payed the base price on the invoice. Been in the same 4 seats for about 10 years and happy.

Section 102 between rows 18-40, so in Tier 3.

is that somehow different this year? Now to get my same seats, i need to pay $385 and $150 per seat to keep my seat location? If i dont pay the additional $150, i get pushed to Tier 4?

i find the whole seat donation thing intentionally vague.

Nothing vague about it; they’re going to make you start paying a donation to keep your seats or they’re going to downgrade them.

Thank you for using Tex - goodbye, and good luck!

At least it wasn't an Oiler's-level choke job.

That was among the worst of the Moon era playoff teams. The KC loss and the Denver loss were far worse. At the time of the KC loss we were the best team in the NFL…
