  1. They were forced out of that location years ago iirc and relocated to Burnet just south of the Allandale HEB.
  2. relevant post from r/austin
  3. Almost as hilarious as claiming John Roberts isn't a political actor when the reality is that he's overseen the most activist Supreme Court since the Lochner era.
  4. https://newrepublic.com/article/192949/john-roberts-rebuke-trump-judges
  5. You're wrong, based on his rulings alone. See: Trump vs Anderson and Trump vs United States
  6. He's a full-on right-wing nut just like Alito and Thomas and he does not care at all about the Americans who are hurt by this Court's rulings and he's not the institutionalist many believe him to be. I think he wants a slower roll than Alito and Thomas in enacting their extremist vision of the America they desire, but his vision is the same. He also doesn't give a flying fuck about democracy and he's happy with the Court's power and knows that as long as he doesn't do anything that will shake the trees of the other two branches of government, as long as he doesn't challenge Trump's supreme authority, his station is secure and his extremist vision of the remaking of America is guaranteed. It's just a question of how fast it happens.
  7. You are not nearly as rational or objective as you think you are if you can't see John Roberts for who he has always been.
  8. On what real world evidence do you base your hopium?
  9. The immunity case was a dead giveaway and anyone who thinks the Supreme Court will get in the way of him running for a third term is a naive fool.
  10. The fuck are you talking about? This is exactly what centrist dipshits advise and it's exactly what Dems have been doing, with little success.
  11. any tips for getting MLB.TV app+vpn to work on my Google Pixel phone? I'm able to watcn on my desktop but not on my phone.
  12. let's just hope he's not Singleton 2.0
  13. That has been the case my entire voting life, and I voted Dukakis/Bentsen when I was 18.
  14. that's half true. it's the players when the offense is getting on base and scoring a lot of runs; it's the hitting coach when the offense sucks.
  15. The offensive performance is way way way too small of a sample size for the predictable freakout on surly. Alvarez, Walker, and Diaz have an OPS of .325, .200, and .304 through five games. That's obviously going to get significantly better. The pitching has been solid so far, but the bats really need to get some juice going to avoid another shitty month to start the season.
  16. mfer couldn't have done that for us in the postseason? or, like, ever?
  17. i like how @wildcat09 is absolutely cooking in this thread on the last two pages. Cry about neg rep more, everything s/he said is spot-on.
  18. 2 runs a game isn't gonna get us in the postseason
  19. Hader got lucky on the last pitch of the game. Caratini called for it down and Hader left that slider right in the middle of the strike zone. That was the second-hardest hit ball of the game (107.8 exit velo) behind Yordan's double and had an xba of .750. Fortunately right at Pena or Altuve's arm might have been tested there.
  20. not likely with Hader's salary
  21. does it work on your phone? i couldn't get my setup on either my desktop or my phone (Express VPN + MLBTV app) to work on the video side, audio pbp. I had the same issue last year for a while and then a few weeks into the season I was able to watch on my desktop with Express VPN but never really able to watch on my phone iirc.
  22. same it's trash today
  23. Explain. If the charge is being too optimistic about holding our leaders accountable for their crimes, that's one I will plead guilty to on the condition that you detail how that is "the problem" vs the actual crimes themselves and the failure of those in position to punish political corruption. I completely agree with you about Citizens United, but that case was decided a year into Obama's first term so I'm not really sure what your point is considering it doesn't change my view of Obama's approach to the Bush administration's lawlessness. If a country like Brazil, with a well-established predilection for right-wing authoritarianism, can hold an insurrectionist like Jair Bolsonaro accountable for his political crimes despite also having social media widely available to its citizens, there's no reason American citizens should expect less.
