I got the Retrax One because a buddy has it on a 2500 Chevy Duramax and he loves it. The main benefits for me are the ability to securely lock stuff inside the truck bed (along with a locking tailgate) and waterproof transport of gear in the bed.
Locking: I frequently ride around with a fishing rod holder, roto molded cooler and/or metal gas can in the bed of the truck. Instead of worrying about using a bike cable and two padlocks to lock all that stuff to a tie-down point - I just lock the tailgate and Retrax. The gear in the bed is initially out-of-view for casual thieves who might eyeball whatever gear was left there. I don't know about long-term storage of super expensive gear in there but for opportunity thieves - the locks are sufficient to keep them away if they do decide to spend a minute making an attempt to get into the bed while you're in a store/restaurant or something.
Water: I live where it rains. A lot. Four guys can use the cab of the truck to go on a quail trip and four duffel bags + gun cases can ride in the bed out of the rain using the Retrax. No more luggage taking up room on the back seat or in the back floorboard. I have only had mine for a few weeks but I haven't seen any water get through it. Even after a drive through car wash.
This wasn't a big consideration for me because my truck came with bed liner from the factory but: I think with the Retrax you could get away with a metal bed floor, rubber mat and plastic toolbox. You could spend the $$$ on Retrax and save on the spray-in bed liner and metal, locking toolbox. Depends on how you want to set it up but it's an option for sure. For now I'm riding around with the Husky plastic tool chest - I could probably get away with it for the life of the truck. I suspect I'll eventually get a welded, metal toolbox . If my truck had come with a bare metal bed I would have dropped in a rubber mat, the Husky and gone from there.
I don't know what you mean by t slot accessories but if it's a Toyota reference - I haven't tried to use mine yet. They're still in the packaging. Will they work? I thought they wouldn't. At least with the Retrax One.

Anyone have a Samsung Galaxy watch? I like the looks of one of the models. Post up a report

This is on the canal. My buddy is 6-5. He's on a dock 5' off the level of the canal. Those are dock boxes behind him. There's water in those light bulbs. Storm surge had to be huge.

Took a dock walk. This is a pontoon boat flipped over. 30'Pro Line behind it. Hard to see the distance but these two anchors are hanging about 12' above the ground

Everything was covered in this horrible mud. Note boats behind the parking lot at the boat basin in the background. Huge vessel was submerged in the basin right in front of both ramps.

Here's the other door to the building. SAR found a body here by the skiff on Friday. Didn't bring a sledge hammer. Could've used it

Looks like there trip to Mexico Beach is on for tomorrow. Only thing that could kill it is LE saying no access. Will take some first hand pictures.
Reports from Jackson County and western Gadsden County areas grim. All church steeples down. Miles and miles of timber chopped at 20'. No gas or dollar stores open anywhere. Small town store fronts blown out to main street.

This storm was supposed to make landfall closer to St George Island up until the track started shifting Westward on Tuesday. I was watching every update from Tallahassee.
I am thinking Mexico Beach was mostly evacuated as its a place which is probably 90%+ second (beach) homes. Panama City on the other hand is a population center.
May be riding down to Mexico Beach tomorrow and try to salvage my buddy's stuff from his condo. Will try to take pictures if we make the trip.
Generac GP6500E still purring like a kitten here. City power starting to come back on in nearby areas. My cooperative says their substations should be powered up by the end of today. Got the Stihl running with a new spark plug and some starter fluid. Four wheeler may be fubar.

Got a bad feeling there's a lot of dead in Panama City. Storm kind of sneeked up on them.

Cape San Blas is now an island according to Instagram

Lots of media attention at the coast but I am hearing there's extensive, deadly damage inland in poor / rural areas north of 10. Towns like Marianna, Sneads and Gretna apparently got crushed

Mexico City-
OH shit my buddy's condo is in that building on the right. Just to the right of that bridge. Building looks intact once they get the neighbors houses out of the parking lot. Thinking the docks on the back side are toast.

Power could be a while. I live way out in the woods. Local electricity cooperative. Not city power. No way to really know. Wouldn't be surprised if it was Sunday.
I do have DirecTV and a handshake deal with several friends who have city power and cable to let them watch football here Saturday if they bring gas cans.

Checking in on generator power from the suburbs North of Tallahassee! Generac GP6500E FTMFW.
Just got 4g back after about 18hrs without any connectivity.
Ask me anything about Michael. Survived it with two little kids. Chainsaw bit the dust. Four wheeler also needs some attention.

Necro bump. Where to watch a game there? Say a Longhorn game... Hypothetically while the Horns play a bunch of bible thumping rapists...
Any first-hand experience? Staying at Andaz.

Got the nerf bars on myself. Got them from Amazon. Amazon stubby FM antenna also swapped in.
Had a Retrax One installed by a dealer.
Running a plastic tool box for the moment. May eventually get a custom welded tool chest under the Retrax roll.
Husky liners are in the wish list. Maybe replacing the rear bumper with a Fab Fours. Also maybe Air Lift airbags again depending on how badly it sags with a bay boat.

I completely agree. I scrolled up and quoted the wrong post actually.
One thing to consider: I represented owners of one of those gold buying shops years ago when the economy was down and they were everywhere. The second hand dealer gold shops are highly regulated by state statutes because they're basically perfect fence locations. Just something to think about. Not sure they'd be legally able to purchase gold you brought in the front door that just popped out of your egg sinker mold.

Many states in the US have a "lost and found" statute that makes it a crime to not report "abandoned property". Not sure whether it would apply under these facts but it'd be the starting place for my local prosecutors.About all they can get you for (assuming you melt it and they don’t somehow track it back to a crime which would open all sorts of possibilities) would be money laundering and possibly tax evasion.
No idea what the law in Germany is though.

Grapple bucket is a life saver for Hurricane Michael clean up. We have hardwoods laid down everywhere at the deer lease. Running a 48hp Kubota. 4700 I think is the model number.

Two guys run saws and cut everything to about 8-10' then the tractor makes quick work of getting the pieces out to the road for FEMA pickup.
Our crew could do this routine for months at the deer lease and still have work to do. Here's the only Pic that I could dig out of my phone. This is us loading up a few years ago to put in food plots.
