  1. The boys are fed, prepped, and on the bus to the arena. I’ve been drinking since 8am-ish. Can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning. Nothing of consequence has gotten decided or done in my domicile except cooling beer. Food is for pussies. Its fucking 80 minutes to tip. I just want to stop and apologize to Aggy. We realize now that your gone, a massive hole in our souls has to be satisfied and filled. Without you, we’re suffering. Does Omaha fill it? Sadly, no. Elite 8’s, Conference titles? No and no. Now I see what has become of us. I envy the schools you get beat by now. I’m jealous. They get that fix that only an injection of aggy tears can...it doesn’t matter. Maybe today is the day that our accomplishment overshadowes your pain and delusions. 4:1
  2. 3 seed in Tulsa is where Tech will be. Good luck Horns.
  3. Huggins team has nothing to lose so this will likely be another nasty street fight. Just don’t see Tech giving up another half like that one.
  4. What comes up, must come down...that’s all I can figure. Better to lay an egg in the first half here than next week. Still think they will get back in it.
  5. I honestly don’t care if it’s a share. Not even going to watch. Just pumped for our team.
  6. The ISU upheaval like someone else said can cut both ways for Tech. Only theory I have is that the Cyclones were focused to win the Conference (especially after the win in LBK) and one loss became 2, and so on. It’s harder to herd talented college players than people think. This is the biggest basketball game of the season, and arguably in the Beard era for Texas Tech. We Techsans (despite numerous examples of clutch and clinic in recent situations) are not going to rest easy. Honestly, I wish I could enjoy this more than I am. btw, I don’t care if kitty wins or not..A Tech win to get a share or better is validation. Fuck Baylor.
  7. Tech is playing much better basketball than the game in Austin 5 weeks ago.
  8. long way to go. K State could get a leg up tonight at Baylor. Probably should given Baylor has more injuries. But can’t be trusted. For Tech to win it we probably have to run the table and I just don’t see that happening. ISU was there until today. Baylor? Nope KU has a bad week shooting and they are done. Therefore im betting on a tie with the streak intact.
  9. Eh, Rats. This was the Cyclones night and I thought we might steal it from them in the end anyway. Not to be. Going to be a fist fight until the end.
  10. True, but they are still the champs until somebody takes it from them on the court.
  11. Step father. Hacking cough. Every 3/4 minutes clear cough clear. Gets louder thru the day, can hear thru the walls. Gotdamn TV is at 39. Too ignorant and geriatric to engage surround sound. Bragged about trip to Ruidoso this summer and how he avoided the high tourist meal prices by discovering Subway.
  12. Leach would not see it as leaving Pullman. He would see it as an oppurtunity to vindicate. He knows he is never getting his day in court. He is never going to get to depose the principals. He was certain of being right back then, and I just think he’d relish the adulation of him back on the throne in Lubbock. I believe he would see it as greater than winning in court. Lets face it. This is the show we all want to see.
  13. Leach has a unique ego. So I can see him wanting to return and take on more power. I can see him figuratively lining whats left of the traitorous cabal for execution. When he first arrived at Tech his boss Myers was hamstringing his recruiting budget for fucking postage. As he built up the program with bowl wins. The push-pull between the two would grow. You do that shit for 9 years and then lose your job over some bullshit that is made into a national circus...then end up in Pullman. That sticks in your craw. So much so every time someone mentions Tech he is happy to remind them of their old sins against him. So the whole ex players gets rich and wants to throw the money to right the wrong scenario is right up Leach alley. I can see this happening. Fuck RP.
  14. Flight inbound from Pullman just went to delayed. Seems hoaxish. We will probably end up hiring the coaching equivalent of Beth Mullins or actually hire Beth Mullins. Is that her name? The annoying lady football play by play thing? Yeah, this is why we cant have anything nice.
  15. We may be getting Leach back. Two of his former players have gotten wealthy in the oil business. Cody Campbell and John Sellers. So evidently they have put together a package for $100 million for Tech facilities and it includes making Leach whole from 09, the Wazzou buyout, etc. This was a rumor yesterday. Then this plane tracking bullshit got going today that has sucked 9 hours of my life. Double Eagles plane is about to land in Lubbock from Pullman. Fuckin A if this is real.
  16. Just reading this thread, there are some misconceptions about what Tech can afford. Truth is, things have changed drastically in the last 2 decades in terms of money available for hiring coaching talent. I believe we have been tighter than most in this regard. Even if we could compete on that level with Texas or aggy (we cannot), we wouldn’t. Were not too far off the pace IMO. We do dumb shit, but not with the money. We’d open funding for Dana for sure, and Venables if he checks out. Dana would work. BV would not....just not a fit, imo. Only knock on Venables is he has never had all of the responsibility before, and were not interested in going thru another trial period. Personally, i think there are better HC candidates on the Clemson staff than BV. We would not consider The Major and he probably would not want to be in Lubbock. The Troy HC Neal Brown is doing well and I like him as a darkhorse over Littrell. He was the only bright spot on Tubs staff at Tech and bounced back nicely. One thing he has over the others is that he has taken inferior talent into Norman and blown their doors off despite his HC cutting his nuts. There is this notion that if we would just get a defense, all problems solved. Pfft. Bama has a goddamn D. Nobody else does. Only freaks across the 2 deep is shutdown D possible. But we could be better. Other than that, the Utah St HC has a record but i have no clue about him. If this were 2 years ago Id want PJ Fleck...just to see the show. Beat OU. Again. Please.
  17. Do not disagree with this assessment. But yesterday was it for me. I think. Im too much of a lifelong diehard. What I fear the most is a shit hire and being the new Kansas or the Baylor during the doormat days. I just cant understand how the team that executed so easily in Stillwater just implodes in 6 weeks. Just a slow but total slide to the bottom. Pfft.
  18. Football has been cruel to Kliff. 2 years ago we were scoring 50 a game in conference and losing by 10. Now his D gives up only 21 and he loses by 2 scores. Buyout is allegedly 7 million. Then Tech would have to pony up on a new hire. Despite this streak and apathy. I just do not see anyone wanting to write that check. Fuck it. Give him and Bowman’s lung another year. Or not. I worry that Tech overreacts and the new hire loses every single game. Then what?
  19. Cheers on victory horns. Jett Duffey giveth and he taketh away. Thats the first game ive seen the horns play. Offensive play calling fuckups aside, I like how Ehlinger uses the talent around him. Stud attitude. Helluva drive to finish. Not sure our starter would have made as many plays against your D. Though I believe he would have exploited some matchups better. Discipline is not up to par with elite teams, imo. But slightly better than Tech. I figured had we put yall in a 14-0 hole we could have altered the horns gameplan. But you saw it. There was no way Jett was going to not turn the ball over. Anyway, bet the game next year means more than this one.
  20. Leach is my litmus test. If you are aware and you dig his scene. Were going to get along.
  21. Defense travels, is the old saying. So I expect to be in the game in Ames this year. I really think that KK and the staff are in a position that they havent had in their tenure. Depth and flexibility on defense. Special teams is stable. Offense can gameplan and use all its tools. Line play has been solid so far. I like our chances.
