if you are in the 100s, make sure you are in row 20 or lower.  thankfully we were but above that, you have an overhang that completely obstructs anything above about eye level.

Thanks. I guess we're not exactly in the same spot - just above where you were in 211

nolongeru2 won’t approve but I was surprised with how good they sounded. Bono had to key down for sure but he belted pretty good. Loved the show. Sphere definitely lives up to the hype. Despite the unpopular sentiment on this particular forum, the edge is one of my favorite guitarists for his sonic contributions and he was great. Good times and recommended.

Looks like your seats were about exactly where mine are. Thanks for the pics and vid. Looks amazing.

  3. They put on a great show. Saw them in Austin and then in New Orleans before LCD Soundsystem last summer. Always a good time.

I'm going to U2 at the Sphere in Vegas this Saturday night. I don't really listen to U2 any more, grown bored of them, but I'm going for the spectacle. I suspect I'll enjoy it.

Going to the National tonight at Moody. Haven’t been to Austin since 2016. Things are a little different here.

Wife and I will be there tonight on the floor. Things are definitely different here from 2016. Still love this town. And looking forward to the show.

  5. Gonna go see Greensky Bluegrass Friday at the small Moody downtown. I don't know their music, going with a friend who likes them, but sounds like they're contemporaries of Billy Strings and play a similar bluegrass/rock/jamband style. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

  6. My boss is down there right now too, banging his 25 year old smoking hot girlfriend. He's 60 something. I'd say maybe you'll run into him, but I doubt he ever leaves his hotel room. Can't say that I blame him.

I am staying at the Hilton Anatole, which is across the street.  According to google though, it's a .9 mile/3 min drive, but a 2.1 mile 48 minute walk to the Market Center Station which I am not going to do.  Is this accurate?

I am not opposed to use driving to Fair Park.  Are the lots there (like outside gate 5) pay lots, or do you need some type of pass?  I haven't been in a couple of years and everytime I have gone, I have had a ride and not paid much attention to the parking intricacies.

I'm staying at the Tru next door to you. I mapped out a route using Google Maps street view that looks like it will work cutting under the interstate and through the parking lot for the World Trade Center. There's a walkway over the train tracks to get to the Market Center station from there. Little over a half mile walk. If it doesn't work for some reason, I'll just take an Uber.

Express VPN is working like a charm in South Africa as well. I've used it in lots of different countries without issue. I'd start there.

I’ve used NordVPN with great success in South America and I’m no tech guru.

Seeing Wilco at a sold-out Cain's tonight for the umpteenth time.

Can't freaking wait. Haven't seen the guys since right before the pandemic.

I'll report back with shitty iPhone pix.

Really wish they weren't playing an outside show in Austin on this tour. I've sworn those off until the temps drop below 90 which may never happen.

  10. Seeing Son Volt Thursday at Scoot Inn. Looking forward to it, as they're playing Trace front to back and that's one of my all time favorite albums.

If anyone has extras for that show and is looking to sell let me know. Live Nation dickhead fucksticks have taken over and resale prices are through the roof. I have some friends who want to go.

  11. Saw Idles, Jamie XX and LCD in New Orleans Friday. Idles rocked my ass off as usual. Jamie XX was a DJ. I will never get the idea of a DJ playing a big stage show - DJs are for clubs and always will be IMO. LCD put on a great show, maybe the best I’ve seen from them and my wife agreed. Very energetic and into it. Hot and sweaty ass night in New Orleans but we had a great time.  You guys in Dallas really missed out.

Bonus pre-show on tiny side stage from Lost Bayou Ramblers was perfect for the occasion. Those guys are good. See them if you ever get the chance. If you understand coonass French you might even get some of the lyrics.
