Mack was telling the team before those games that we could lose and still have a good season. I doubt many players went into those games expecting to win.

Agree with Mack.  I don't watch UT football for the wins but more to get to know the good kids and good families.  I'm cheering only for them to become great accountants and teachers with their diplomas they are earning by playing a game.

I miss Brett Robin on second Saturdays in October.

Besides, we’re gone for stretches from either property, so maintaining a bunch of annual vegetables and herbs is kinda difficult.

Interesting.  We have a place too but been hesitant to plant a fruit tree the last few years because a plant store told me they would need lots of water first two years.

Do you have irrigation system of some sort?  Or do you let Mother nature mother nature and see what survives?

  3. Ok, headed there with 7 and 12 year old for 2 days (part of long road trip) and would appreciate advice.

    1)   Mt Pleasant or Charleston hotel?  Don't need to be in cool mix since I have two heavy anchors in tow that prevent actual adult fun.

    2)  Already wrote down various restaurants to choose from out of this thread so appreciate it all.  Any final comments on family friendly places?  We go to bars and stuff with them...but tend to bail before cool people and/or crowd gets there.  Can I go eat at like 5 p.m. at a place like Husk with them or is it too cool a spot?

  4. I built a financial model for an LNG facility a Long, Long Time ago that, to be Frank (see what i did there), made me learn the deep underlying nature of a facility like that.

At the time, you needed massive contracts with folks wiling to guarantee they would buy the LNG.  No private company on earth could finance it without an offtaker or two that would guarantee a minimum revenue stream.

Hence why there aren't more LNG facilities built even though the need was evident 20+ years ago.

I don’t understand. Juan in a million makes good food, but it’s not spectacular or anything. I thought the draw was 1. Solid breakfast, 2. Absurd sized tacos.

There are tons of places that make tacos as good or better than Juan in a million. Laredo does. But yeah, tacos aren’t as big. Get two or three.

I don't know if it's nostalgia but I have been to Laredo and been to many other places and no one is at Juan's level for breakfast tacos.

The fact you said tons of others when l haven't found one shows our taste buds are not calibrated.  We could never date.

Last time I went to Gerardo’s this happened to me.  She got the worst of it when her sled caught fire.  After running into the back of me she sued for no less than $1 million and no more than $10 million.

    IC settled with her.  $2500.00.

Not to derail thread but why would she (1) sue  and (2) get any money if she ran into you?

Back into the rails...I miss Juan in a Million.  Only Austin restaurant I miss or haven't found a superior replacement for in Houston.

    Truth still delivers

Not pictured is the 4 quart sides we had

    Tot casserole
    Brussels
    Potato salad
    Mac and chee

    Stellar

Brah, no corn pudding?  Was there on Wed and still consistently great.

  8. I bought a Polaris Rzr 170 for my then 4 and 10 year olds (its a side by side but basically a go kart).  It is designed for that age and has been fantastic so far.

Only drawback is I'm 6'0" and my knees hit the dash.  If you are 6'1", now way you fit and thus would not be able to sit in there with them to teach them how to drive.

I’m 24 and mainly hangout in houston. I’m trying to cut down on my commute.

In my mid 20's, worked in Connecticut.  Had to choose whether to mimize daily commute or fun-related commute.  Chose to live in Manhattan, locking in one hour daily commute, because higher probability of consistently dipping my little peen into ladies. No ragrets.

  10. Suggestions on best place to market a rental home in Austin (near Rollingwood)?  Going to self-manage but wondering where people who have enough money to pay high rents but not enough money to own said home go looking for a rental nowadays.

Last time I rented this house, I rented to a family with a Kindergartener who wanted A-rated Eanes schools and I said "how great would it be for them to stay here until she graduates"....and that little girl is now graduating so they are finally moving out in May.

Let's run this no-churn bitch back.

Been doing my part to help inflation this weekend..

Had the people at Kroger redo my checkout after not honoring the buy 1 get 1 free hot Italian links earlier in the week. Kroger routinely does shit like this, as well as charge 10, 20, 39 extra cents on tortillas and other products. Walgreens is second worst and they get sued all the time for bait and switch. I am their nightmare.

Refused my tab at a bar after charging 50 cents more than list price on Montucky. Manager came and apologized profusely like a bitch. Did this all because I’m a hero of the working class and care about poor guys in this thread.

  12. Sides way more important than non-Trinity choice.  I'd say weighted value should be

    35% brisket

    25% ribs

    20% sausage

    15% sides

    3% dessert

2% non-trinity, I have high estrogen category so I order turkey at BBQ restaurant category

Did you watch Le Bureau? I've heard netflix is making a knock-off US version.

I know Fauda has its own thread. Been avoiding it to avoid any spoilers. But the newest season is pretty damn good.

If I recall correctly Season 1 of Lupin was pretty good but S2 was odd.

I hadn't even heard of Le Bureau so will have to watch a trailer or something.

Lupin season 1 was ok but still battled through it and Season 2.  Show could have been one season long and covered everything and would have been better, IMO.

The point is, the SEC has won plenty of minor sports titles, including A&M, over the last 2+ decades.  I don't think Texas will necessarily waltz in and dominate in those particular sports.  We might.

Yeah, we will most definitely not dominate.  However, I'd love to go 2X aggies each year at a minimum.

But 2 times 0 is 0 so maybe 2x aggies PLUS be top 3 in conference championships or something like that.

i couldn't find Florida's SEC championships in the 2 min on google i was going to devote to the topic, but they have 17 national championships since Aggy joined in 2012.

But if you don't do the research, that means I'd have to and that's not what the internet is for.  The internet is to take data from a complete stranger and use it like no truer words have ever been written.

So i did a quick dive on this.    They have 18 SEC Championships since joining (of course aggy being aggy, they listed SEC west championships and end of season tourneys that I had to back out of what they have listed).

Over the same amount of time we have 83.

However lets assume SEC is harder to win championships (Florida always in top 5 of Directors cup as an example).   Aggy still only avg'd about 2.8/yr conference championships over their last 10 years of Big 12 play.     They have always been under achievers.

And 1/3 of their SEC championships are in Swimming/Diving and volleyball, and well....   we know how that is going to go.

Nice job.  So how many conf championships did Florida win per year?  We can assume we will be around that # given more competitive nature and FL will slide down a bit.

Then aggies will slide down annual amount too...so what is that #?  18 divided by 10?  Is that how long they've been dominating the SEC?

So that 1.8 becomes 1.3 per year.

Without knowing FL average, my gut guess is we overtake in 5 years.
