  1. Oh, I've only seen pics of that chili but I'm assuming her enchiladas would be any different. Both would inflict intense intestinal distress. Jade's cooking = Putin's war planning.
  2. For a second there I thought those were snapshots of Jade's enchiladas.
  3. Medusa article about Navalny clarifying his position about this SMO. Changes some of his previous statements that Crimea is Russian. Now, it very clearly belongs to Ukraine. Also talks about paying reparations to them. Overall an excellent strongly worded letter to management. https://meduza.io/feature/2023/02/20/aleksey-navalnyy-opublikoval-15-printsipov-svoey-politicheskoy-platformy-o-voyne-i-poslevoennom-ustroystve-rossii
  4. So with the anniversary coming up and Putin planning a big speech it is going to be interesting what the stated strategy is for 2023. Russia's advantages are 1) holding current territory 2) ruthlessness 3) bodies and 4) ability to withstand a ton of shit. On that last point, Putin is calculating (or more accurately hoping) that the average Russian is more willing to suffer thru sanctions than the West is able to stick to them. However the rumors that he wants some decisive victories in next month or so, talks about getting the RU airforce more involved indicates the desire to see an early win. Which undercuts one of his supposed advantages. So it will be interesting to see if he commits to an all-out offensive or continues with the long term meat grinder approach.
  5. My Russian is a little rusty but I think it say, "Putin's got a tiny pee-pee." How much is in the Surly fund? For his big speech tomorrow I would love to fly a banner that says, "Putin is not our standard".
  6. Yep, for me the most interesting part of this whole conflict is the backdoor dealings in Putin's cabinet. Hopefully a few years after this war is finished and Putin is long buried we get some details what was happening with the internal power struggles. As ruthless and brutal that Putin appears to be, he still hasn't squeezed that iron grip as hard as you expect. Aside from a few Gazprom managers and silvoki heads getting mysteriously ejected from Windows there hasn't been as much turnover as expected. Shoigu appears to have some Greg Davis level of immunity in the Kremlin. I'm extremely curious what dirt he has on Putin to stay in his role for this long. Putin hasn't tried rein in the bickering from Prigozhin or Kadyrov. He has demoted Gerasimov but already reinstated him. Even the non cabinet stuff has shown some of his weakness. It took some time before he called up for another conscription wave even though it was quite clear more bodies would be needed. Also his political dissidents such as Navalny could only be jailed and not executed (aside from sprinkling some poison in his Underoos). I believe Russia has reinstated the death penalty after the start of the war but Putin still has to maintain a modicum of legal decency and can't just fabricate every malicious desire into existence. Which all indicates to me this guy is scrambling to stay in charge. He has grossly miscalculated this whole affair, found out he's surrounded a bunch of yahoos, and painted himself into a dark corner.
  7. Think of a typical college backyard party but a complete sausage fest. About 30-40 dudes congregating around a single keg in the middle. They are all enjoying themselves but you know everyone wants to leave and go somewhere where they can get some real pussy action. Suddenly a detonation 2 to 3 yards from dead center. Easily a dozen or two instant KIAs. A few from the corners are able to run off but everyone else just completely motionless. Absolutely brutal and lethal. And gives me warm fuzzies like a Bomar blindside sack.
  8. Sounds like a type of cologne that a male model would sell.
  9. Which is also why Putin's decision to eventually invade Ukraine multiplies the stupid factor by aggy squared. If he had just stayed the course of magnifying dissent in the West, continued to expand the need for Russian energy (Nordstream 2), and maintained the appearance of a non-aggresor then there could have been a good chance that NATO would have disbanded. Achieving his strategic objective of not having a hostile, unified European presence on his borders plus more political freedom to push whatever agenda that they wanted going forward. Albeit that would have been a much longer time frame (5-15 yrs) and Putin wouldn't have been around to soak up that glory of restoring USSR 2: Kremlin's Boogaloo.
  10. Is this the thread to talk about corruption? Qatar scandal is now rocking through EU Parliament. Bags of cash literally found laying around. Even aggy cheat better than these people.
  11. There's a bunch of stuff on YouTube GothamChess has a playlist of different openings that are short, 10 mins, which gives enough of a taste to get started. Funny watching him here where he is more buttoned up. After a few years of streaming he is more on the goofy personality side but he keeps things entertaining. He's also got a great series on guess the ELO. Chessfactor has a lot of good material as well, which is more technical but not too dry. If you want more glamor then the Boatez sisters can liven things up. Definitely more of a streamer personality channel but don't let the good looks fool you, they are solid players. I don't think they have too much training content but here is a clip with a solid list of beginner tips. And for the grand daddy of chess channels you can check out agadmator which only does recaps for top level players. They are short 10-15 min vids. While it may be higher level, its easy enough to follow and helpful to see some of the top level tactics in action.
  12. Niiiice. Makes me want to strap some propellers on her and re-enact a B-17 bombing raid. Get shot down over the English Channel only to successfully motorboat our way to safety.
  13. I think the fire hit the Michael Bay DVD bin at the right time.
  14. Another Russia smoking attack. Shopping center go BOOM. Big bada boom.
  15. Was hoping for more carnage but that last shot has some nice wing damage. Of course Russia is not going to show the worst damage shots. Just wish Ukrainians had more to work with. If they could have had a salvo of 6-10 fired at once they could've wiped out most of what was on that strip. That would've been a hell of a sucker punch. Now we will see how RU reconfigures their air defenses.
  16. If the 1000km range is true then is a game changer if able to produce in quantity. Russian milbloggers are having a conniption fit about their air bases getting bombed.
  17. Long range attacks could be related to this: https://en.defence-ua.com/weapon_and_tech/secret_weapon_by_ukraines_ukroboronprom_1000km_range_75kg_warhead_what_it_can_be-4571.html "Secret Weapon by Ukraine’s Ukroboronprom: 1000km Range, 75kg Warhead. What It Can Be Defense Express ukr.defense.news@gmail.com October 18, 2022 Photo credit: Ukroboronprom The development of remote warfare means for Ukraine is more than important when it comes to the need to destroy targets at a range of hundreds of kilometers Ukraine’s Ukroboronprom State Military Concern published an interesting post announcing about the development of a weapon that will become the longest "arm" of the fire weapons currently available in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Of course, it is quite difficult to guess what it is going to be exactly, but the size of the warhead, the range and the photo of the possible fuselage itself suggest that it may be a fairly large kamikaze drone. That is, the estimated wingspan and weight should be approximately more than 4 meters, and the take-off weight of more than 200 kg. Read more: Ukrainian Police Shooting Down a Shahed Drone During Attack on Kyiv (Video) At the same time, the range of 1000 km (if they meant the range of damage, and not the range of the flight) opens the question regarding the means of guidance. If we do not take into account the purely theoretical possibility of establishing a satellite connection, then such a range does not make it possible to implement a direct control channel. MBDA's Fire Shadow kamikaze drone had a range of up to 100km due to the issue of guidance / Illustrative photo from open sources In these conditions, the simplest implementation will be ordinary satellite navigation, which allows to hit stationary objects with coordinates known in advance. However, its accuracy may not be enough for surgical strikes at targets. In this case the question of accuracy is compensated by mass, and in some cases it is even more expedient. For example, when it comes to the need to disable enemy airfields. More difficult, but much more useful, can be the possibility of installing a passive homing radar head on a kamikaze drone to destroy enemy air defense systems and surveillance radars. At the same time, high-tech means of guidance in autonomous mode are considered quite expensive for the carrier, considering a high probability of interception by the enemy. In particular, it is much more effective to install a conditional thermal imaging homing head with contour recognition in a ground-based stealth cruise missile, which has a much greater chance of breaking through the enemy's air defense system than a slow-moving drone. IAI Harpy is an Israeli kamikaze drone for destroying enemy radars / Illustrative photo from open sources But despite everything, the most important issue is the completion of development terms and the pace of mass production. Because in fact the main advantage of the Shahed-136 is the quantity: the russian federation received a significant number of these kamikaze drones. And the tactics is simple: several dozen drones are launched at the same time, even though only a few of them break through. So, it’s not a question of creation of single samples, but the need for mass production of hundreds of them to achieve the appropriate effect and oversaturate the channels of the enemy's air defense systems. Which, in turn, puts a demand on the cost of such a kamikaze drone, technological production cycles and production capacities.
  18. Wish we were playing by Wrestlemania rules and this was a tag team match. Ukraine tags out and Finland tags in with this guy just in time for winter:
  19. There was a spokesperson that mentioned 100k Ukrainian casualties. Another Kyiv source tried to clarify and said that it was 10-20k KIAs and 80k in casualties. Where about 70k of those did return to front line. So only 30k total out of action. Which sounds like too much sunshine pumping for me. I would love to believe it but I'm guessing it's quite higher than that. How much is the trillion dollar question. Undoubtedly UA has the superior kill ratio but it is really hard to project total number of boots on the ground.
  20. Hopefully some huddled Russian groups can become prime artillery target practice.
  21. Is there still an Oshmans Sports around? Used to hit that up at Northcross Mall as a kid and then go across the street to Swensens Ice Cream. Also plus rep for the Hastings mention...I would go to the north side one in RR.
  22. Well talking about Russian disinformation, this Riga chica does a great job dismantling Russian propaganda.
  23. Galeev has a thread going into more details about the new restrictions on personal aid. It sounds completely idiotic but it's simply a matter of authoritatarian control. Anything operating outside of the Kremlin or its approved oligarchs is seen as a threat. Even though people are trying to do what the government should be doing: providing for their troops. Thank goodness they are such power starved dipshits. When I first heard about the mobniks forced into buying their own gear with marked up prices I was stunned. Not sure if it's all mail ordered or if they have some regional warehouses but my first reaction as a mobnik would be taking the company on the first field exercise: looting the general store. Just tell the owner to bill Vova Putin for everything and if he didn't like that then he can be part of the live fire drills. Seriously boggles the mind how fucked up that whole country is.
