It's because he's American.
He said he came over to England to avoid the draft after the draft lottery. Married an English woman to be able to stay.

If there’s a thread for this, my apologies. But this show slid under the radar and it was a great watch. Not only does it basically star Walken (huge fan) but his part reminded me so much of my grandfather, hell even used some of the same sayings. Anyway, definitely a funny show that was written and directed by the tall, dorky Stephen merchant and he’s also in it. I guarantee laughs. The side “drama” is also great and moves the show along but wasn’t the real point of watching it. https://youtu.be/7hxqPxXV27E
Watched the first episode last night. Pretty good so far. Big Merchant and Walken fan, so the cast is a hit.

Why is KXAN running an Amy Schneider rerun when new contestants are scheduled?

My Echo SRM 225 won’t stay going or loses power under a load. I have changed air and fuel filters and it has always been run on Tru-fuel. Today, it did fine for a couple of hours. Then trouble trimming. Sometimes it dies when I try to accelerate to full speed.
would a carberator cleaner help? It is about six years old, kept garaged, and used about once a month.
I need to do some heavy trimming tomorrow.

Welp, so much for that. I just received an email from UT saying they will no longer provide unlimited storage. Starting November 2022 it will be reduced to 1 gig. That sucks.Access to UT Google apps (including Drive) will go away at that time for all who are not students, faculty or staff. The 1 gig is the email storage only.

Students, faculty, and staff will be limited to 5GB of storage for their Gmail and Google Workspace accounts.
- Alumni, former students, and retirees will be limited to 1GB of email storage and will have access to Gmail only.
- Alumni and Retiree accounts will be limited to 1 GB of email. Google Workspace applications other than Gmail, including Drive, will no longer be available. You must reduce your Gmail storage below 1 GB and move files stored in Drive or other Google Workspace applications to a new location.
Knowledge Base Article - Service Portal (service-now.com)
That really sucks, as I have beaucoup storage out there. Most is backup, but some I need to move elsewhere.
Too good to last, I guess.

In the reddish district flashing lights
I looked around this place
I found his clothes there on the table
A little smile across his face
And though I tried with all of my sadness
Somehow I just could not weep
For a man who looked to me
Like he died laughin' in his sleepplay a yank song, pulled him one last round…
We made 'em leave his boots on
The day they laid him down

I ate at this Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. I can’t remember the name. Very popular, line out the door. Relatively small, nothing fancy, you’d share a table with strangers. If people tried to sit around chatting after their meal, the old lady would come and yell at them to get out so someone else could sit down. That place was awesome.
It was that way at Izzy's in Cincinnati. Had a guy (local radio personality, I think) who would seat people anywhere there was room during the lunch rush. He would try to keep couples and groups together. Jokingly, but firmly would get you up and out when you were through.

He was cool the one time I ran into him and had no problem with my kid having a UT cap on.
Yes, he's a Sooner, but.....watch the documentary about him.
Also, if he was Trumpy, I think it'd be easy to find stuff on him. Instead I find stuff like this:
To further extend the Bosworth diversion, two of my grandsons (one with a longhorn cap and throwing a Hook 'em) got their photo with him and Ricky at ACL.
My daughter said they were both very nice to the boys.

I'm a little tardy but have been watching Harlan Coben's shows on Netflix - The Stranger and Stay Close. Both really good murder-mystery shows.
Really enjoyed Stay Close. It was a little confusing at first, with all the different plot lines with the different characters. After wife and I got used to the characters and began to see their roles, it proved to be well done.
We're big James Nesbitt and Jo Joyner fans, and the cast contains several other solid British TV regulars.

Looking at the text of the workbook in the photo, it is illustrative that the sentence reads, "...people who reject the Bible..."
Very cut and dried thinking.
I'm wondering if it is ever made clear regarding humans and dinosaurs existing together as to how they got along? Domesticating a brontosaurus would've been quite the struggle I imagine.
Hey, those of us who grew up in the '50s aren't surprised.

Any guesses if Amy is trans? NTTAWWT When she first came on, I wondered if she was just a somewhat masculine appearing woman. In one show, she mentioned a former girlfriend. Then, the other day, she mentioned having an unusual tattoo - of Princess Ozma of Oz, who was a girl changed into and raised as a boy (Tippitarius) and later transformed back into a girl.
Whatever, she is a really good contestant, and it's fun to watch her dominate.

So, was out and about yesterday doing errands. Last fall, in the days leading up to the election there was this one particular intersection of 2 state highways I pass through. On that corner, some carny was peddling Trump flags, etc. The days he setup shop, there was always people there buying the damned flags.
Yesterday, he was out again with a new assortment of flags. This time, the flags were some variety of Trump 2024, Trump Save America, Fuck Joe Biden, you get the idea. Even had a huge banner (paraphrasing) Trump Save America Merchandise sold here
And there were people out buying that shit. I can only imagine as Christmas gifts.
Don't forget myriad versions of the stars and bars. Surprisingly, I haven't seen a Nazi swastika flag -- yet.

I'd kill for 2-J's to still be around.
We rented a house at 3715 Medical Pkwy in 68-67. The back yard backed up to 2-J's back property. My parents came down to visit us and I walked over to Mayton's Minimax on the corner of Lamar and 38th with my 13 year old younger brother to pick up something. While in line, three armed guys came in and robbed the place. They clocked old man Mayton on the head and got off with a bag of money from the office and registers. A bit scary with angry guys waving pistols all around. I think they were caught later that day.
2j's was okay. My son liked the small carousel they had on the parking lot.

Britbox has turned into our most frequently watched streaming option. I don't care much for Britain at all (lived there for 2 years) but now really enjoy their detective shows/murder mysteries.
Acorn also has a lot of good British/Aussie/NZ detective shows/murder mysteries.

Got my Moderna booster on Monday. Arm was a little sore that evening, similar to after effects of second shot. Achy all night and Tuesday morning. Took some Sodium Naproxen. All normal since Tuesday evening. Wife had no after effects.
