  1. The prospect of a Texas/USC conference game gruntles me greatly. But I think we can all agree that ultimately, aggy is a bunch of dumb ass, tard, weirdo, cock suckers, who went off with people who ultimately took advantage of them, and to no real advancement of their position in the world. Oh well, fuck em and good ridance. I don't think we belong in the SEC, and don't want to go there, but I hope it gets kicked around so aggy can realize that they are not on the same footing as LSU.
  2. My wife was a bit concerned when my typical outburst at the television went on for several minutes, along the lines of "fuck yes, fuck you gooners, fuck ou, ou sucks, fucking trailer dwelling meth heads..." There are things in life better than beating ou, but most of them don't happen in your living room, while fully clothed, on a Tuesday.
  3. It got so quiet in the Noble Incest Center. You could hear their breath whistling past the tooth. Made all that goon horns down shit so very awesome. Go home sad to your trailer Jethro.
  4. The Slab is good for things other than Natty Lite drinkers selling crank? Cool. That's reasonably close. I've camped at Colorado Bend and a co-worker says his family does well on their boat in that area. Hadn't thought about bank fishing/wading there, but the river is pretty narrow. I wasn't planning on getting in the water below any of the dams. No Deliverance scenes for me. I appreciate the word. It'll be The Slab and Colorado Bend to start.
  5. Yes. Wading is different in a river. And kayaks are really cool. I’m just looking for places along the Colorado with good access to fishable water and a rough idea as to when the white run will be there. Anyone?
  6. Upper Travis is sandy and rocky. Same with the other parts of the Colorado. Wading isn't the same thing as the bay, but you can get out there as long as you don't step off into the abyss.
  7. I now find myself a citizen of the Highland Lakes area, so if I want to leave the boat and make a Saturday morning wade, Shaffer Bend, and bends west, all the way to Starke dam are within range, as is LBJ and Buchanan. I've fished LBJ and Buchanan enough to conclude that bank access to points worth fishing are likely limited. Haven't figured out how to access the tail race and river below Wirtz dam. I see there are some little parks on Lake Marble Falls in Cottonwood Shores and the bend parks on Travis from Shaffer on to the dam. What are the best options for wading spots, and when will the whites genrally be there? I don't fly fish so I'm throwing small baits with a spinning rod. Help appreciated. There are times I just want to go without screwing with the boat and there should be some good spots in range.
  8. What happens if by some miracle, we end up in the conference championship game? I do not think this is remotely possible, but what if?
  9. We long ago abandoned Deep East Texas first for South Texas, and now the Highland Lakes. Turned us into finesse weirdos, dropshots and such.
  10. My boys grew up on that lake. My oldest son is the reason I fish bass tournaments.
  11. We need pics of those "Alabama shakers" please.
  12. Right over those mountains... I deserve this. And no, I didn't know CTJ was an NFL veteran. A lot of people here talk like they're NFL veterans. Explains a lot.
  13. No fucking idea. Given his history, he knows a lot of sub-geniuses make fine football coaches. Strong's failures as a HC speak for themselves. I personally believe he may have been a better choice than Orlando at Tech. IMO that's about his ceiling.
  14. Only if what I'm saying is misinterpreted. I don't think Strong would make an effective DC in 2020 at a top tier program. Could he run the defense at a directional? Sure. Could he coach positions at a major? Sure. I don't think he's a brilliant man, but you don't have to be brilliant to coach football. You probably do have to be brilliant to be the HC of a successful program at a major. Probably to be a successful DC at a major. But it doesn't take a Rhodes fucking scholar to teach the art of block shedding.
  15. Here's a question: did you ever play football? I'm talking about at a fairly high level, being coached by men paid to coach football? My high school football coach won a Texas 5A state championship,. That's not CFB, but that year, he coached the best high school team in the state, if not the country. I have often wondered how he could have earned a college degree, but he didn't go to play school, so there you go. It is not rocket science; it is not brain surgery. It's like fishing: it takes a certain set of skills, and a lot of practice, but you don't have to be super smart. Running an entire college program at a mid tier on up school does require intellect, but there are a lot of solid DCs and D line coaches, and linebacker coaches, who can't spell cat if you spot them the c and the t. Great thinkers? I can recall one of those wine sippers running our program.
  16. I don't think Strong is a bad coach. He's just a terrible Head Coach. He will be a benefit in the right capacity.
  17. I would think the contract had $ included for acoustics and sound engineering, maybe not this much $. I doubt they completely left that off the list of things that needed to be done.
  18. If I did nothing else right in life, I raised a daughter who would immediately recognize this guy's game, and find a way to kick his ass. She's at Texas State, and I've never been happier about that, now that I've read this horror story. I wouldn't be surprised if she and her roommates pimp a string of middle aged men. Save me some money on tuition and books.
  19. You mean, Plaza 25, the place I spent my freshman year?
  20. Paleface Park was like the end of the universe. We usually shared it with bikers and naked nature lovers. We got really fucked up out there on many occasions. Talked a few girls into midnight skinny dips. Got damn time is a motherfucker. Silver Dollar, drinking Pearl Light out of the pitcher. Nickel beer night, 50 cent pitchers. Puking.
  21. You may be older than me. The owner when I was around (81-85, Summer 86) was a big, gay Greek dude (nttawwt) who only hired the prettiest frat guys to work there.
  22. Medium rare GM cheeseburger was the cure for what ailed you. That big fish in the aquarium, and your girl could enjoy the eye candy dudes working there. As for everclear margs, our 1st stop was the taco bar at Jorge's. Those margaritas were dangerous, and you got greasy little tacos to go with it as long as you drank. Then on to sixth. Last stop was either Katz or Kerby Lane (on Kerby Ln). If we were too drunk for that, we'd wait until late morning to stumble into the Omletry. What a great time. Windy Point, Barton Springs Hamiltons, and no crowds to speak of. I've heard Madison is still kind of like that, but I wouldn't know...
  23. Getting a little maroon in here. But fuck that guy.
