Today's Republican Party would have sided with the British during the American Revolution.
When ever they use the word patriots, we should call them Tories.- 4

It’s scary looking at who I will be voting for as the most moderate Republicans.
-
Well, if Josh Hawley is crowing about it, it must be true!
If only something had been done when the Republicans held the the White House and both houses of Congress.- 1

I vote in the Republican primary in order to give a vote to least crazy candidates in the local elections. Because those offices are won with such few votes I feel my vote is actually making a difference in pulling the politics toward the center.

I wasn’t even sure what thread to post this. My cousin. https://www.itemonline.com/opinion/letter-to-the-editor-marjean-creager/article_9e28788e-6a72-5d32-aa22-934d7f0e3561.html

We should tank our economy. That should slow movement across the border. Or we could give up fresh produce while letting our yards go wild, our houses go dusty, and our infrastructure go to shit.

far too many people out there that think 1/6 was the same as lighting trash bins on fire outside the portland federal building, and that trump trying to overturn the 2020 election is the same as trump getting impeached for soliciting campaign donations from the russian and ukrainian governments.
Hell, there are far too many people who think Ashli Babbitt was murdered in cold blood while she walked around the Capitol with a camera. -
Seen headed north through McKinney. Maybe headed to a Shelly Luther campaign rally, but there are plenty of other reasonable guesses to be had.

Shouldn't that be Sir Merrick, not St. Merrick?
I think it references Saint George.- 2

Despite being POTUS, he hasn’t progressed from selling shitty steaks and wine. -
I completely agree.
I am a proponent of hitting the unvaxxed where it hurts. Deny them care or charge them through the nose for it.
But, but, but… that’s discrimination! So unfair!- 1

Russia

Looking at historical trends, there has always been an ebb and flow of Russian/Soviet military might and projection of power. The Russians are currently in an upward trend that should continue for at least another 15-20 years. We need to plan policy accordingly. Putin is providing the necessary political stability so I expect the current trends to continue until he is dead. At that point, it will be about time for a Russian decline and some of this pressure from Russia will disappear. Future events will be influenced by how stable Russian will be internally once Putin is gone.

I think even Trump couldn't deny that there'd be something wholly unique about being the only human being in the history of the world, and will never be matched, to lose a popular vote three times, a general election twice, three times divorced, bankrupt the same casino twice, Impeached twice, and probably face multiple indictments.
That's a whole lot of losing.

my god, this thread.
the answer is clearly legal, safe, and rare for abortion. we should pull out all the stops: proper sex education, public funding of planned parenthood for people without access to a primary care physician, and free birth control for everyone.
you want to control abortion? you attack the root causes. all pro-life people seem to want to do is address the endpoint. how about we not get to that endpoint, or at least attempt to limit those results? it's fairly basic.
The Drug War is an example of why outlawing abortion will not reduce abortion. I say this all the time and no one listens.- 1

I'm not a racist I just support racists and their racist policies. I prefer to ignore how they hurt other people and focus on all the good it does for me and people like me.
I’m not a racist because Candace Owens told me so! See… I have black people on my feed!- 1

It is certainly true for me (though I don’t think I’ve actually joined in on that particular joke) and I’m certainly not the smartest poster here.
I use that joke. Trump was taking credit for the economy before he was sworn in.- 1

We used Happy Limo for transportation to and from the airport. Worked great. We had a stretch limo for the return trip.
First night we had the chef tasting at Jaleo. It was a hit with everyone… can’t beat the table sangria for value.
One in our party was very limited for food choices. Everywhere we went, the chef came out and designed a custom meal.
The dessert party at MK was worth the cost for reserved seating for the evening show.
The Lion King Show was disappointing… a shell of its former glory. Make reservations if you want to hang out at Nomad Lounge.
The Voices of Liberty have returned to the rotunda. I was high score at Test Track. Spice Road was excellent. We did the Rose and Crown for the night show… my wife got the reservation by walking up mid-day.
Despite the complaints about the new ride system, my wife handled it like a pro. We never waited in line and road both Flight of Passage and Rise of the Resistance twice. We seriously sucked at Smuggler’s Run, but the two Asian fellows who got stuck as engineers thought it awesome. We enjoyed having them with us as much as doing the ride.
We did Oga’s Cantina late. Worth the reservation. The inter-active games are fun, but bring a battery charger.
We stayed at Port Orlean’s French Quarter. Lots of new employees with resulting frustrations.
BTW, a daughter of a long-time friend will be working at Galactic Cruiser.
