Welp so O.Henry had 6 kids take drug laced gummies today bringing a rash of cops to school, a fight in the hallway and now a tiktok thread about shooting the school up.
I am not sure I will be keeping my 6th grader there for the long haul. My older son made it all the way through there and it seems like post Covid the place has just come off the fucking rails.
My friends that went private schools took waaaaay more drugs than I ever saw in public schools.

But, but, but private golf courses are a public benefit.

They pay 1/50th of what fair market value is. I actually think there is benefit to the public from golf courses. Having some green space in cities is good, even if private. Trees that aren't chopped down. Habitat for animals.
Golf courses are terrible for the environment. They require lots of water and fertilizer. Not to mention the changes in runoff and storm water retention caused by their construction. Restore those courses to their natural habitat and then we can talk.

It's owned by the state. The state despises the City of Austin. No way they participate in the council grift. They've got their own grift operation to maintain.

The state will sell Hobby building soon. So sometimes it happens. Though it hasn't happened yet.
It blows my mind that they haven't sold it yet. I hear it's a maintenance nightmare and crumbling in places. It's also sitting on an extremely valuable full city block. Sell it, build the replacement outside of downtown and put the excess cash to work.

Can you add annoying Mitsubishi guy to that list?

Anyone know the reason why the new post COVID episodes are on Paramount+ instead of HBO Max? Kind of annoying.

The amount of money that Texas lets go across the borders to Louisiana and Oklahoma is insane.

Afford has nothing to do with it. If you think I'm going somewhere that charges $19 per for mashed potatoes, you are out of your mind.
There’s a $1,000 steak on that check and the mashed potatoes are the deal breaker? Anyone that walks into one of that douchebag’s restaurants deserves to be fleeced. In a perverse way, I admire that attention horse for separating so many morons from their money.

Nothing better than the feeling when you get off the plane at SBH. You take Winair or St. Barth Commuter? Or did you splurge and do the Pilatus with Tradewinds from Puerto Rico?
Not big on context clues? Captain is wearing a Tradewind lanyard and the plane’s N number is N224TW which is printed on two separate plaques directly below the word Pilatus.

Not saying it's right, but NFL games are no place for children.

I'm guessing the elderly motorized wheelchair community is going to burn down a Luby's in Tuscan this evening.
There’s a Luby’s in Tuscany? How did that one survive and not the one in my neighborhood?

Its because the cheap ass fucks that don't want to spend quarter on a bag take them out to their car and throw them in the trunk.
I was wondering why that wasn’t a problem at my local HEB in Houston. Makes perfect sense now. Have they just quit replacing them to save on the cost of all the shrinkage?

Anyone who believes that Riley and USC started talking on Sunday and hammered out a 9-figure deal in a few hours must be completely ignorant of the words "lawyer" and "Board of Regents."
That's why coaches have agents.

Went over to FlightAware to see if I could find the plane they were on. Didn't see it, but did notice a flight to Starkvillle this morning. Hmmmm.

I don't care one bit about this, that's how allsome being in the SEC will be. Best thing the Texas athletic department has done since hiring Darrell Royal.
So in your world being totally irrelevant in football is cool because SECSECSEC? Okay.

I'm also still not sold on the idea of super conferences. I'd be more than happy if someone could wave a magic wand and conferences go back to the original 1998 BCS conference affiliations.
Same. I don't like the idea of super conferences from the perspective of being in a conference with schools that you will meet on the field once a decade or so.

GP is an incredibly stubborn and inflexible person that can't stand even the smallest amount of scrutiny. That was eventually downfall at a school where he has a statue on campus. He's not going to go work for anyone unless he has TOTAL control. So unless Sark cedes all control of the defensive side of the ball and they pay him $3mm year or more, he's not going anywhere. GP isn't convincing Kelsey to leave FW unless it's for a head coaching job.
-
Dude, GP ain't going to go work for 7WS. It's not happening.

A significant improvement over Gary the last several years. He’ll hit DFW recruiting hard, and reinvigorate the program. And GP will come here next year.
GP isn't leaving Ft. Worth to be a coordinator so unless CDC fires Sark, don't hold your breath.

Trade in a multiple national COY winner who literally resurrected the program for a career .500 coach. Bold move, Cotton. Let’s see how it works out for them.
Using that line of reasoning, Mack Brown would still be the coach at Texas.

No doubt. I was just responding to the pearl clutching about kids with gummies at O. Henry and there being a fight in the hallways.
