I guess I am in the minority here, but, while I know Grovers are the superior machines, I just prefer the look of Klusons. They just look right to me.

Lol at the price and not making the LP available separately, though.

Changed the oil on the FJ today.
Great job by the toyota engineers.
Go from:- unscrew one plastic thing
- rub a little oil on the new one
- screw it on
- take off rock shield
- take off little metal flat piece
- shove plastic piece in to housing and spray oil everywhere
- get special tool and take off housing and spray oil everywhere
- drain and clean housing
- replace gasket on housing
- put filter in housing
- screw housing in
- replace gasket on outside of housing
- put metal piece back in place
- replace rock shield
It really is my least favorite part of the damn vehicle.
Can also add to that: have rock shield bolts previously over tightened before your ownership that cause them to strip out. Part is not replaceable since it’s part of the core support, so I had to drill and tap. Went ahead and did all 4 so I have new threads and same bolt size on all of them. Stupid. I might actually get this just so I don’t ever have to touch it again.

One month between R3 and R4 and then back to back Baku -> Miami. A bit inefficient there...
Miami is in a damn parking lot - surely they don't need to shoehorn it in like that.
Because China got canceled. I thought they were looking for a replacement but I guess they never found one. -
Done. Looks like clicking the link itself does it all for you, so that’s easy.

Toyota’s management structure was god-awful. It’s no wonder they didn’t make any noise.
They had way too much red tape between the race team in Cologne and everything else in Japan.
At first, Honda had the same problems when they came back (and they aren’t even a chassis constructor), but they got it figured out.
Gazoo Racing (set up by Akio Toyoda) has been better, but was too late for the F1 effort.- 1

From a team valuation perspective, that increase has mostly come from the cost cap.

Also, James Vowles is going to be the TP at Williams.
I like James, but I think this is actually an OK thing for Mercedes. Their strategy department was in need of a shakeup.- 1

If you go into it as a comedy/to watch the zoom zoom in 4K/HDR, it’s a better experience.

What is crawl control? Can you not just put in lockers and lower gears anymore? I had 4.88s and lunchbox drivers in a dd jeep.
Off-road cruise control, basically. -
Those the Ultra Raptors? How do you like them? I considered the new ones, but went with the Brooks Cascadia 16.

Deep cut. I briefly played football with Glen in high school. He was....not good at it. Say what you will about Katfid, but he knows his white people.
I believe he was more of a lacrosse bro. Good dude, though. -
Trying not to drool on myself for an hour and sixteen minutes while watching this is hard.- 2

Only major thing I can thing of off-road wise would be crawl control, but some of the later model FJs do have that (mine does, I think it’s 2013-2014 models that had the option).

I would have died happy if Tony Scott had made an F1 movie. Ron Howard gave it his best shot but there's just something off about Rush.
Yeah, Rush was good, but I just don’t ever find myself wanting to re-watch it.- 2

Monaco 1982 since the ending is hilarious.

I’m behind on the DVR, but at 2:12 in the first quarter right before the (unnecessary) Josh Downs interview, it looked like some kid on the East defense did a “make it rain” move, complete with paper money. You could see bills floating down. WTF?

Stolen from Reddit
Of course, Porsche tried to do that, they just got shut out by RBR.
Ferrari will also be doing it, though they aren’t confirmed to do IMSA yet (car spec is the same, though). Alpine as well. -
So, hypothetically speaking, if one wanted to remove sharpie from a nitro guitar, a Magic Eraser should do the trick, no? Nitrocellulose is pourous and I expect it to hold onto the ink pretty well, but has anyone attempted something like this?

I might make an offer, but if removing that signature fucks up the finish it's going to royally suck.
Would the dry erase marker trick not work here? -

Its endless audiophile jargon and marketing blabber designed to get middle aged dudes to part with their spare change for a reissue of an album where you can usually pick up the pressing from the original era for less than ten bucks.
Many, if not most times, the original pressing is the best. That’s why I posted all the info that I did above on what to look for. Sometimes it is harder to find clean copies, though. It just kind of depends. -

Good Nick Carver video here. The paper he uses for his customer print is the same stuff I use.
It really is a great feeling seeing your stuff in a physical format. I highly recommend it.
