Pinto Canyon Road, yes. I haven’t actually been down it yet myself, though.

I agree they should quit going down this path, I'm just saying it's not like they even have a clue what the right path is. The observable stuff, like sidepods does almost nothing. It's all about the underfloor. That's a huge difference between these aero regs and the previous ones. It's much harder to copy/catch up.
I agree 100% with this. It is sort of ironic though that the cap is now what will keep the dominant team in front. -
I don't think it matters what "concept" Merc pursue. RB and AM have something figured out with the underfloor that no one else knows. Merc might be able to find more improvement going with a different concept, but unless they have some drastically better way to run the floor (which they could already be incorporating to their current concept), then they going to be way behind no matter what.
Well, obviously. But what they mean is they need to do a wholesale change and figure out what special missing piece is that they’ve missed, and not continue to spend money on a dead end.- 1

Formula 1 is one of the most elitist sports in the world. The top teams are act like it is an honor for the other teams to share the track. (See MA/Cadillac bid).
*I love it as is, and don’t care if they make changes one way or the other.
It is, but I have to say that I’m pretty concerned with what Liberty seems to want to do with the sport. It is 100% money driven for them at the expense of everything else, and while it’s still mostly okay right now, I fear for the future.- 2

looks like i got lucky and it's JUST outside of the past decade by luck not knowledge haha

i need to go back and watch some highlights from 2012 thanks!
McLaren was further back there than they looked, too. They were super quick but very unreliable. I think Lewis retired from the lead 4 times.
Also, COTA’s first race was that year.
Wow, time flies.- 1

The W14 isn’t a wholly bad car either. Like it’s not too bad to drive, it doesn’t bounce anymore, it’s just slow. That typically means it’s lacking downforce.
I saw a tweet that their seemingly positive trend last year (and the win at Brazil*) convinced them they were moving in the right direction. And maybe they were, but again, RB just owned everybody way more so than was expected.
*I knew it was George’s fault!! /s -
So is it safe to say that after this year the Mercedes "dropped cookie dough" design is going to be done away with?
It sure seems like it. I think that they were going in thinking that they could fight after some development the year, but the kicker was that RB showed up and just drug their nuts across everyone’s face, so the gap ended up just way more than just simple refinement/upgrades can catch. If RB didn’t exist, then sure they could battle AM and Ferrari this year, but I think it will be like 2014 all over again. The RB19 is just insane.
Toto seemed so exasperated that he even told Sky that their big upgrade for Baku/Imola was 3 tenths. 3 tenths is good, but it ain’t catching Red Bull when they’re 1s+ ahead. I wouldn’t be surprised if they scrapped that now. Or, since it’s already in production, they put it on the car and just roll with that for ROS and do as best as they can, and then just get to work on developing a different concept.- 1

RoGro hasn't had nearly as many WTF moments in IndyCar.
Yeah, I think he’s doing just fine over there.

I really like The Lodge, actually. It ain’t fancy, and sometimes the water smells like sulphur, but it’s a cool place. Here’s some random photos.

Same. My nephews are Filipino, raised in Thailand and Hong Kong, so I didn't get to spend a lot of time w/ them. When Albon showed up, I messaged them in hopes that they'd be stoked for a Thai driver on the grid and they'd start following F1 (they kind of identify as Thai due to living there about 10yrs - my brother still has a house there). It worked on the oldest one and he has been hooked ever since.
Thought Alex both probably got put on RBR too soon, and demoted too soon - not sure wtf else they wanted out of a rookie than to be the best driver behind the Mercs, Ferrari and Max the 2nd half of the season. Hell, dude would have had a podium if HAM hadn't crashed him out in Brazil. If he can find a way to get into the Top 10 WDC this year, I'll be ecstatic.
Here’s a nice piece by Alex. Kind of gives some insight on how RBR works as well.

It was also a bit too hot for the softs. They were overheating in S3. Q should be really exciting.

Has Horner ever admitted they broke the rules? DTS just had him spouting off every dodge, excuse and “yeah, but” he could manage.
He kinda had an “oops, lol” thing for a few seconds.- 1

Is there a reason RB didn't put two cars out there? Quick glance, it looks like all the other teams did.
They got more than double the laps of any other car so I guess it evens out but I would think they'd want to test two different setups.
They’re all using one car. Just all other teams did half and half using both drivers.- 2

I never minded him tbh. But when I was watching a few minutes today, he was talking about Lewis and how even though George was cruising to 5th place finishes, it was Lewis who was sacrificing his season to get a deeper understanding of the car so that the team could improve. Gag.
Lol. @G650 and I even said as much at the time. Will certainly put a more dramatic spin on it, but I don’t know why this is some big conspiracy.- 1

I feel like they just want more in-season uncertainty and they feel they get that by reducing testing. In reality I think it hurts the smaller teams more, though.

Got some Panther City yesterday. Still good, but not as good as before the expansion, at least on this visit.
Brisket was a bit salty.
And goddamn, the prices.
