  1. Obviously I’m biased to the winner, but regardless that was a great race no matter who won.

Silverstone is absolutely the best circuit for actual racing on the calendar.

    Awesome.

  2. I am in the market for my first American Tele, and I saw Fender just released some limited edition Performer models. That Honeyburst Tele with the satin finish really caught my eye. Any thoughts on a spruce body on a Tele?

I have the predecessor to the American Performer, which is the American Special. It’s nice. Looks just like the 2 tone sunburst with black guard tele of the timber line in the link.

  3. This has been going around a ton on social media. Theres another example with Vettel as well. I haven’t been following the sport that long  and I understand Max was in the wrong today, but this can’t be that easy for lando to avoid right?

I mean, sure he could. This move itself wasn’t that bad in a vacuum. The previous one was worse. But there’s a build up to it. It was eventually going to happen when the stewards decided to simply not do anything up to this point.

Remember that this move at the very same corner is what pretty much kicked off the whole “let them race” thing from Red Bull starting in 2019 which came to a head in 2021 and has basically allowed these kinds of moves since.

  4. Max just doesn’t know how to race when he’s actually being challenged. Never has.

Yep. This is why he has stated several times that he doesn’t like close racing. He cannot do it.

He had several shitty moves before the contact, too.

  5. They are both terrible. Danica says some insane shit and Jenson looks like he’s about to die every time he’s with her.

Nico is awful beyond his driver insight. He has zero personality and you need some to be a main commentator.

It does not help that Danica is an actual crazy person, too.

  6. i keep seeing stuff like this about people complaining about Lewis and how MB are treating him
i mean...yeah. what did you expect them to do? it's what almost any team is going to do in that situation, prioritize the guy that's there for the long(er) term and deprioritize the guy who announced he was leaving the team before the season even started. for a major competitor.
this isn't Sainz leaving Ferrari for Williams.

I mean, there are stans for every driver (well, maybe not EVERY driver….. does Ocon have any?). No surprise that Lewis has a lot of them. Not unlike that one Danny Ric fan that has been posted here before.

This season just kind of is what it is for Lewis.

  7. Yeah, the AFM/DFM lifters will generally all fail at some point. Some at 25k, some at 100k, some even longer with lots of maintenance.

Best bet is to use synthetic and change your oil every 5k. Those lifters don’t like extended changes and need quality stuff.

You can always disable it, too.

  8. I just don't understand how they can fuck up things so badly. Work with the teams, come to mutually beneficial decisions.
Make the rules fair, make them affordable, & make them enforceable.
In the end racing is supposed to be about competition, not who is seen at the races.

Yeah the removal of the MGU-H was kind of done to appease Porsche (who isn’t even entering now) and Audi (whose level of commitment seems kind of shaky anyway), so this is what we have. They should have just let them use more fuel and had less reliance on battery (2026 will use a larger battery/MGU-K component).

  9. I'm not sure how accurate this is but, these guys running the show, if this is true, are assholes and should be punched.

It’s a shitshow for sure, but I don’t believe Obbs is correct there. We will get more info as we go forward of course.

  10. I should clarify that I don’t mind the look really. The 2006 car thing wasn’t a shot, but just that I feel that the power unit is going be a disaster with how heavy they still are.

  11. Well, the 2026 aero regs seem pretty hampered by the weak 2026 engine.

Active aero, cars that look like modern versions of 2006 cars, and active aero (like DRS) on the front wing too because they won’t go fast enough on the straights otherwise.

    Yikes.

  12. Also, you can remove swirls pretty easily if they’re just from washing. Can easily pay someone to do a paint correction or learn how yourself using a DA polisher.

You can get the car ceramic coated once you correct the paint to give it a lot more protection, too. That can be expensive, but you can learn to do it yourself, too. The more pro level finishes are harder to apply, though they last even longer. Basically, the longer it lasts, the harder it is to apply.

If not, just use a quality ceramic spray coating like Griot’s 3 in 1 and reapply every 6-12 months. It won’t provide as much protection, but it’ll make the vehicle easier to keep clean/wash, and provide nice water beading.

  13. What do people use to wash their vehicles at home to avoid paint swirls? I've never been a wash at home guy and I don't really want to become one but I hate those paint swirls. If my vehicle had swirls when I acquired it, am I already screwed and it doesn't matter how I wash it?
I've also scratched it twice. I'm so annoyed. The first time was my kid trying to help me take the hard top off. The second was today at the power wash cleaning out the bbq pit. The damn hose had a puncture in it so the nozzle swung unexpectedly and made a nice 10-12" scratch on my passenger door. Both are just deep enough that the scratch remover polish I have fades them but doesn't remove them. I can't quite get a fingernail in either. Suggestions?

Use a foam cannon on a pressure washer to lift a lot of the loose dirt first and rinse it off. Then, do a contact wash with a few new microfiber cloths or a nice microfiber mitt. You can re-use cloths, but make sure they’re 100% free and dirt free. It’s not a horrible idea to just use one or two new microfibers for each wash, then just use those for trim/interior/tires going forward so you know you have guaranteed clean cloths.

If you don’t have a pressure washer, you can use a pump sprayer for foam application which doesn’t require a pressure washer. You can just apply it one panel at a time because it’s kind of a pain to do it with a hand pump sprayer.

Look up AMMONYC on YouTube. Larry’s videos are pretty great and he’s a good teacher.
