I am a martyr to the cause.Β I will die on this cross for the rest of you.Β While the sunshine pumping and excitement nears a fever pitch this week, I stand before you, to testify, in the Holy Name of Bill Parcells, that we are 0-11 until proven otherwise.
It worked last year.Β After our second loss to Maryland, I vowed, NEVAR AGAIN.Β Β NEVER would I believe or buy in to any hype.Β That I would cite the Holy Scripture of The Parcells, paid for with the lives of many Bothans.Β I caught all kinds of shit for staying negative after condom, tripling down after roaches, and ONLY after a final painful turtling result over the purple wizard did i put down my cross and join the rest of you.
So, here in week 1, I will say it: Thermensa has yet to win an opener and until he does so he still hasn't.
There is no week 2 opponent until we have destroyed the week 1 opponent.Β Which Therm has yet to do.Β He is 0 for 2.
As of today, we have zero wins in 2019, we haven't won an opener, and aggy are looking at an undefeated season.Β DOOM AND GLOOM BABY.
WE ARE WHAT OUR RECORD SAYS WE ARE.

"Losing their mind" and "obsessing" seems like exaggeration. The guy is predictably disparaged here since he called the entire Texas fan base a "cesspool" for wanting a very bad coach to be dismissed.
He used that word in that situation - not about the fan bases defending the rapists at Baylor or Penn St, not about the lunatics holding rallies at Ohio St when Urban caught some heat for knowingly employing a wife-beater, not about the psychopaths at Auburn that try to sign new coaches before firing current ones and openly paying Cam Newton hundreds of thousands of dollars...none of those obnoxious assholes were criticized; rather, he said it about Texas fans, who were enduring the 3rd consecutive losing season, wanting to replace the very well-compensated coach. Β Again, the comment lacked perspective when literally all of this shit had happened in the few years leading up to the point at which he made that statement, other than the Ohio St thing, during which, oh by the way, he was among Urban's ardent supporters. (And again, I know he made the "cesspool" comment partially just to rile up the redneck morons in front of whom he was speaking.)Β
I'm not losing my mind or obsessing over this...I think today is the only time I've ever commented on it...I just remember that he said it. And if he is jeered by Texas fans, well, that's pretty harmless and understandable, and yes, "typical" in that most fan bases would take exception to it. I think most of us are fully aware that it isn't life and death and I don't think anyone is losing sleep over it.Β
Also - what do you have against holding a good grudge? While we're at it, fuck Aaron Rodgers and his whining about the Rose Bowl. Fuck Mark Mangino and his whining after he lost to Texas. Fuck the Pellinis too.Β

Might be a reach but I think Herby is sucking our dick so he doesnβt get relentlessly booed when CGD comes to Austin week 2. When he does get booed heβll push the Texas fans are assholes narrative.

That's fine. But the joke isnt funny.
when the dish collapses, kills hundreds, and injures thousands, all in the name of having more seats than the sips, are we going to stand down?

I just ran to the store for some cilantro. A giant ass fucking duallyΒ with mud flaps Iβve never seen before is parked on my street. The front of the car has an upside down longhorn trailer hitch cover in bright ass burnt orange.Β Its the only flare on the truck. Amazingly no aTm stickers, SEC stickers, 12th man stickers.Β
Hate us more than they love themselves indeed.Β
you should have put a note under his windshield wiper:
"the minimum requirement is 15 pieces of flair, and only 2%ers have 15 pieces of flair"

Anybody else see CFB live tonight? Not sure if it re airs later but they aired the LHN piece narrated by Galindo and then had Manny Acho and Dusty Dvoracek give their thoughts. Some very nice words from Dusty (they were teammates in Chicago) as well as from Manny.
Edit: looks like it re-airs on ESPNU at 8. The Ced piece was about 30 minutes in
3pm tomorrow ESPN2 is next airing i can find but don't know if that is new or a repeat of above

The thing is, if Cedric was doing what I suspect he was (and what I've seen a jillion bikes on 2222 doing) -- hauling ass well above the speed limit -- it really doesn't matter.Β That's why the speed limits on limited-visibility roads (with hills, curves, etc.) really matter.
The van driver looks, sees no vehicle.Β She pulls out.Β As she's doing so, the bike tops the hill, going (e.g.) 75 instead of 45.Β Instead of the van having 3 seconds to clear the intersection before a previously-unseen 45 mph vehicle gets there, it has 1.6 seconds.Β The speed to reaction time translation is really, really important.Β It's the biggest reason that posted speeds are what they are in these areas.
I live in the neighborhood -- there are plenty of hills and semi-blind corners.Β On more than one occasion, I have looked, seen no vehicle, pulled onto the road, only to see a vehicle traveling WAY too fast coming towards me.Β Thus far, I've been able to punch it, and/or the other vehicle has been able to slow down, so as to avoid a wreck.Β But wrecks like this happen, and if the bike is traveling too fast, it's likely the bike's fault.Β I hate to think that Ced got himself and that gal killed, but based on my experiences on these roadways, as well as the report already noting that witnesses observed the bike traveling quite fast, tell me that's likely the case.
Unfortunately, we could lock the thread here.

He's got a good agent. He had some success, there was "talk" about NFL teams pursuing him,Β so Iowa signed him to a 10-year deal with a massive buyout. Then his teamsΒ went in the tank, hitting a low of 4-8 in 2012,Β butΒ Iowa couldn't afford to fire him. He gave up recruiting in Florida. Then in 2015 he took advantage of a schedule where Iowa's cross-divisional opponents were Maryland andΒ Indiana, and won the B1G West. (In his defense, he was undefeated in his division with wins at Wisconsin, at Northwestern, and at Nebraska.) So Iowa gave him another big contract extension.Β
The terms of the new contract didn'tΒ hamstring the school like the old one did. But the standards were set pretty low. Kirk gets his annual raise as long as he wins seven games. But he's achieved that every year since, going 8-5, 8-5, and 9-4. He seems to have righted the shipΒ for the most part, given their expectations.Β
in other words, iowa are aggy, without the FCS cushion.
advantage aggy.

That State Final against SA MacArthur was transcendent. Have a friend who was a coordinator for Mac. Said they only had two days to prepare due to the other finalist being disqualified and no practice time but it didnβt matter. Ced brutalized them.
Just tragic. Waaaay too young. Sincere prayers for the Benson family, his daughter, the family of his passenger and all who knew them. Rest well, 32. Thanks for the good times and memories. Hook βem.good to see you around.... let's get some hutchins soon.

Benson was crazy consistent in 2004 the only games he didn't break 100 yards in were Oklahoma (GDGD) and Michigan (because Vince went off) we were 12-1 and Cedric was our MVP.
RIP to a Longhorn legend.
Shame on people here for taking his passing to push your anti-motorcycle agendas.Β I will gladly die on my iron horse as it has given me more happiness and joy than any of you could ever fathom.Β Hell I've taken one motorcycle to all 48 of the lower states I'd never do that shit in a car.i don't ride, i laid down my first one at age 15.Β however i agree this one is on the road not the machine

Don't forget Susan Sullivan's fine ass, either.
Sullivan's character was not in the original theatrical release.Β Her character was written in to create an extended version for TV that aired over 2 nights on it's debut.
