  1. I’m glad I made my plans for the Big East Tournament. The Garden is awesome when St. John’s is good. When we were in the Big East I went 29 consecutive years. Terrific fun.
  2. Although I would not be surprised if the talks resume after a few months as I don’t see Nissan’s situation improving
  3. Apparently I missed the collapse of the talks. https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/inside-collapse-nissan-hondas-60-billion-mega-deal-2025-02-12/
  4. I’m very interested in how the Honda takeover/merger with Nissan proceeds.
  5. This Houston team is fun to watch.
  6. We had a nice win over a bad Syracuse team tonight. Syracuse came in and had a 16-point lead in the first half and the boys didn’t quit, won 80-69. Still, three bad losses this month I predict; at UNC, at Wake and home to a terrible UVa team are going to keep us out of the NCAA
  7. Nobody got shot with all of these people dancing on top of that many classic cars? Nobody?
  8. I think it is a terrible idea. Just stupid. They are going to kill it. The greed will destroy this. You need everyone to be involved for it to be healthy. SuperBestFriendsConference; 84 teams, 7 in each pod. Rotate the non-pod games and the 12 pod winners go to the playoffs.
  9. That’s why I turned off the game. I’m not paying attention to that crap. Terrible. They ruin a good game with that.
  10. Blaney’s uncle Dale was a hot shot basketball player at WVU. Ryan’s grandma could never understand that I, as a Pitt guy, would boo the shit out of him when we played WVU. The Blaneys are part owners of Sharon Speedway just across the border into Ohio, one exit in off I-80
  11. Reddick has raced at our local dirt track, as has Larson. Super fun to see these guys on dirt. Tony Stewart used to come and race too.
  12. Yeah, Busch was spot on. So was Preece, I think that was him, who said after Busch, that they are getting close to someone not walking away from these types of wrecks.
  13. I jinxed him.
  14. Holy Cow, falling into it. Good for Byron not getting clobbered.
  15. I wouldn’t mind seeing Cindric get the win
  16. I pull for Blaney these days. I knew his grandfather when he was racing on dirt. He was a big help to me in my early writing career. Lou Blaney was one of the best. Ryan’s dad, Dave, and his uncle Dale, were fantastic Sprint Car drivers. Dave was very successful on the World of Outlaws tour. I knew Ryan, just a bit, when he was a kid. Always was nice.
  17. I hate the end of these NASCAR races. This shit where they all drive bumper to bumper to bumper is terrible, and then, always with fewer than 10 laps to go we get the big wreck. Hate it.
  18. That was an ass-kicking of Prime UCONN level.
  19. It is nice to not just go straight to Spring Football.
  20. The grandfather of a friend of mine did the music for Mr. Roger’s. There is a statue of Mr. Rogers outside of the Steelers/Pitt stadium, inside an altered old bridge pier. It’s pretty cool. On game days you always see people, and not just kids, getting their picture taken with the statue.
  21. I don’t think anyone saw Auburn out scoring Alabama, 36-15, from 3-point shooting. Crazy exciting game. Like Pearl said, they will most likely meet again, possibly even two more times.
  22. Great finish by AU not to blow that one. Well done, Tigers. War Eagle!
  23. Big East Mayhem! So looking forward to attending the Big East again in a couple weeks.
  24. Auburn is amazing at how poorly the offense plays when they get a big lead. I know, this is a monster rivalry game and that lead was not going to be maintained but, against a ton of other teams they can make a lead disappear in an instant. That’s one reason I am not sold on this AU team getting to the Final Four. Can they? Of course but, I’d not bet on it. Crazy game for us at Pitt today with our two starting guards out of action. That meant the bench had to get involved and they actually had to run an offense, rather than the dribble for 20-25 seconds with nobody moving without the ball and then a bad shot late in the clock. Yeah, it was a win over Miami, who is not having a good year but, it was fun to watch an actual offense. Got home to watch the end of the WVU at Baylor game. It’s always extremely enjoyable to watch WVU lose in gut-wrenching fashion.
