  1. Tell me you didn’t watch the game without telling me you didn’t watch the game. This wasn’t normal home calls. If you had watched the game, you would know why Tech fans are upset.
  2. This ref crew can burn in hell. That’s fucking ridiculous.
  3. WVU plows into our guy no whistle. But Tech gets called if we breathe on them too hard.
  4. I think the transfer portal muddies the waters in this area even more. Now you have to be able to put together a team that can win with players who may only be there 1 or 2 years (either due to transferring in, or players who transfer out). Totally changes the coaching dynamic going forward. The good news for both UT and Tech is that they both have coaches who have experience putting together teams within this new paradigm.
  5. Same here. I have zero animosity towards Beard at this point, but I've been frustrated with the offense for the past couple of years. 2019 he just had the right players in place to make that particular offense work better. I thought Beard did a helluva coaching job last night contrary to what some of the Horn fans here have said. Beard is a passionate and energetic coach, and he knows how to get his players to play at high levels. But I like how Mark Adams coaches and manages a game as well. As I have said repeatedly, it's too early for either side to claim they got the better coach. TBD.
  6. And aren't you an SMU fan/alumn/employee?
  7. Well, you extrapolated that from us talking about a difference in offensive philosophies. Who is the better coach remains to be seen. But I can tell you that this Tech offense has been more fun to watch than the past ones.
  8. Agreed. I have really enjoyed watching this Tech team drive to the basket so much more than did before.
  9. We must be talking about two different plays. The Williams 3 was a clean dish. If Jones tripped later, he tripped over himself.
  10. How? There was no contact.
  11. Damn. So sorry. Puts this stuff in proper perspective. Prayers for you and your family.
  12. You know damn well those people paid good money to come watch the refs officiate.
  13. Kansas has a player with the last name Yes You Fuck You. That makes me laugh.
  14. Yep. That was a bit awkward.
  15. What is this butter story?
  16. Well at least we actually have degrees. Many of us with advanced degrees.
  17. No way. Guaranteed they’ve got enough security to keep that from happening. But I have a bad feeling about tonight’s game. Students won’t rush the court if their team loses.
  18. I realize I have no dog in this hunt, but a statue for someone who only played one season? TJ Ford seemed to do more for UT basketball than KD, didn’t he?
  19. One mile isn't enough. I would make it a 3 mile radius.
  20. LOL...I'm a Tech fan and that account is too ridiculous to believe. I do believe that Beard gave Adams the hard, hard sale to join him, and I imagine he was miffed when Adams chose not to, but got over it (I assume that, because they were friends for too long and I think Beard is now genuinely happy for Adams). I do believe that Beard recruited some of the players to join him. That's it. The rest of that is fiction.
  21. What I wouldn't give to have Arms and Williams for another couple of years. One and done makes me both love and hate the transfer portal at the same time.
  22. Ah come on...I'm not making a strawman argument. Just responding to many of the comments in this thread where it seems the UT fans can't understand why the Tech fans have animosity toward Beard. Read some of these posts...it feels like Tech fans have to justify why they are upset with Beard. To me, it seems pretty natural. I've also posted that I think after tonight it's all going to cool down dramatically and people aren't really going to care as much. I also think this whole thing is detrimental to Tech's chances tonight. It's all been way overblown and I have a bad feeling that UT is going to come out loose, Tech is going to come out way too amped up and tight, and that's a bad combination for the home team.
