Is leasing always bad? I haven't really heard the arguments and I've never leased a car but I have been curious about not "owning" a depreciating asset.

Leasing is better than buying a car every 5 years.  Assuming like most people access to a vehicle is a necessity to you, don't think of the car as the asset, the asset is not having to pay for it.  Of course that means being seen around town in an older vehicle, and a lot of people see cars as status symbols rather than a functional tool.

Exactly.  Hell, the guns should not even have a firing pin.

edit:  I suppose they would need a firing pin to shoot the blanks.  But not sure how that works.

Would need it for blanks.  I would guess in a movie like John Wick where the gun firing is added with VFX those guns are probably disabled from firing in some way.

How does that make sense? Every top guy on the team's NIL exceeds the scholarship value and they still get the scholarship.

Billy Walton got recruited over. Dude saw the writing on the wall.

I guess it would be a player election.  It seems like he's taking one for the team if true.  I wouldn't expect many others to pay tuition for the betterment of the numbers.

You can take 1,2,3,7 and I wouldn't ask for anything in return.

Baked beans are disgusting no matter who made them.  The others can be good, but most of the time aren't.

My first thought was because he was a pedophile. But, Priscilla claims they had no sex until they were married; by then, she was 21. Apologies EAP, you song thief.

Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent kids, not just someone under the age of consent.

I have nothing to back this up, but a couple of thoughts:

We are a larger country today by 100 million or so there's that.

Also, might have been some undiagnosed fatalities way back then which would have lessened the observed pool of allergy sufferers v  today.

There was a Netflix doc series several years ago and each episode was some scandal in the food industry.  One was peanut allergy and a restaurants use of peanut oil and lying about it.  I think the episode claimed that there was a shift in doctor's recommendation at some point where they all started advising parents to keep newborns away from certain foods until they were of age, and that actually created a boom in food allergies.

The only way Poor Things is better than The Lobster is lots of naked Emma Stone.

In all other aspects, I thought The Lobster was a better film.

I felt like Poor Things was trying too hard to be artsy and clever with it's campy sets and fish eyed lenses.

BTW, can you spoiler the one scene you found so offensive?  Nothing is standing out.

    Probably the dog one

I might be nitpicking but what the hell.

    1. What was with all the bodies launching all over the place and still getting up and ready to rock.
    2. The obese bartender character, not sure I understood, what was the point?

    3. The bar owner, why have her rolling a softball on her desk, don’t get me wrong she looked totally like an ex-softball player. Was there supposed to be a tie in or a backstory.

    4. The love interest- it would have been better and more believable to cast Maggie Gyllenhaal as the GF. Off screen sibling action would have been better than watching what looked like kissing cousins on screen. Totally flat no spark.

    5. The main bad guy was such a waste. Were they going for spoiled rich brat, scared trouble maker, was he supposed to be feared? The Prison dad sending the muscle was kind of convenient.

The obese bartender clearly represented Liman's abstract expressionistic view that our society has become too dependent on technology.

My wife's car has auto on/off brights.  It works well for oncoming traffic, but not for cars ahead of you.  You've got to be right on top of them for it to shut off.  I am constantly telling her to turn her fucking brights off when she's following someone.

get ready for every drive to start at the 35.

NFL head coaches are so risk averse and resistant to change that they'll just give teams the additional 15 yards.

remember the NFL moved the XP line back for kicks to encourage teams to go for 2. so of course NFL head coaches kept kicking instead.

2 point conversions have gone up.

  11. Movie was pretty bad, and not in a good way.  Also the director complaining about a lack of the theatrical release looks really funny now.  This had straight to video written all over it.  Jake got shredded though, but outside of that he didn't appear to give much of an attempt at acting.

  12. Do people go to breeders for a pit?  I've only seen two types of people with a pit bull.  Ignorant people who adopted from a shelter, or trash.  I guess I never really thought about were the trash are getting their pits from.
