  1. Just wow... powerful moment now in the court with Botham's brother. Said he loves her. turn her life over to God. he forgives her and loves her. Requested permission to hug Amber and allowed.
  2. Twice is incorrect. Only allowed to have gun at home. https://helpforfelons.org/can-a-felon-own-a-gun-in-texas/ Sec. 46.04. UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM. (a) A person who has been convicted of a felony commits an offense if he possesses a firearm: (1) after conviction and before the fifth anniversary of the person’s release from confinement following conviction of the felony or the person’s release from supervision under community supervision, parole, or mandatory supervision, whichever date is later; or (2) after the period described by Subdivision (1), at any location other than the premises at which the person lives. The code goes into a lot more depth, and you can read it here.
  3. Limited. Just at their home. Not right to carry. https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/verify/verify-can-a-felon-legally-have-a-gun-in-texas/491829268
  4. Well I guess here comes the protest if it's anything like they are showing on WFAA
  5. Well it was actually perfect. He never argued it.. but then when he objected he got it in the open in their mind. Will it help? Highly unlikely as it's a weak association.
  6. I think she's about to pay for the sin's of all the other cops. I originally thought under 10 before the social media was admitted. Now they might hammer her higher than the suggested 28 years. I thought it was a key point they specifically made sure to pick people who put MLK as one of the most important in their life. Matching them up with the MLK parade text.
  7. Is this a common practice , for juries to return the years of the murdered person's age. It just seems an easy way to put more emotion on a number. Jury is released to deliberate....Amber won't speak.
  8. Interesting. That's true. State is discrediting sudden passion and defense objects since he never mentioned it. Overuled because it was mentioned in the documents.
  9. Defense had nothing bombshell.. of course. State has 11 more minutes.
  10. Defense rests. closing arguments time
  11. Sidebar... attorneys laughing. Lunch break Back in session at 1:30
  12. It's a nice story of helping a crackhead but.. did she help her get into the program or anything? If all she did was give her a ticket instead of arresting her, well.. it's something but. not much.
  13. Don't kill anyone... that's not gonna look good to the jury...
  14. There ya go... Brenda Sales, her best friend, just said sorry to the family for her.
  15. As the former judge said on commentary, it would likely be a HORRIBLE idea. The state will rip her apart no matter what for the texts and social media stuff. No apology will make up for the damage they would do to her on the stand again.
  16. oooh state is crossing Macpherson. sidebar after an objection. after discussing text messages the squad group would send to each other.
  17. That guy is SWAT? doesn't look very intimating.
  18. Yea... really not sure why they brought her on the stand, the detective. got nothing from that.
  19. Wonder how many cops they will call. here is #2.
  20. The black friend, Kathy Odhiambo, worked together at tgi fridays at airport. known her for 10 years. Went to same high school and college (uta). Never worked together as police officers. but kept being friends. "So caring, selfless thinks about everyone before herself" Amber is the sweetest person. She ran into the middle of 161 to get a changing table (that had blown off her car) for her pregnant black friend.
  21. Sister didn't say much. aunt didn't say much... Here we go.. the black police officer friend.
  22. Amber's mom on the stand. I was wrong and corrected below. Thanks
