  1. And here we go. Hahaha holy shit
  2. Don’t really have a problem with this but I’m not sure why we need to prohibit it either. We don’t have the infrastructure in place to do it properly, we don’t have the will to do it properly, and I’m not sure it would ever work in the U.S. basically it’s a waste of money.
  3. So maybe I’ve missed it, but shockingly few people have tested positive, and nobody got a “surprise” positive. Has anyone tested negative that had a previous lab confirmed case?
  4. Damn. The more I watch that the more amazing it is. You don’t want your neighbors roof blowing off and landing on your roof and you don’t want their whole house breaking loose and running into yours. There was almost none of that. the sections or blocks that got obliterated are maybe small tornadoes. At least that’s what we decided after Harvey. Hall my block was blown to pieces. 2 houses had standing back walls but the front was literally gone. The other houses on the street only had flood damage, or damage from the debris flying off a neighbors house. My house was fine until the neighbors roof decided to say fuck it I’m outta here.
  5. They didn’t have the surge. I know the weather channel, was saying possible 12 foot or more but this storm was fairly small and didn’t sit out in the gulf as a cat5. Got really, really lucky. On the other hand I know a bunch of those houses that look ok actually are very fucked up.
  6. Yeah. His wife was on the boat and watched it happen. I’m not going to give anymore details, but it was nightmare fuel.
  7. Not exactly sure where you are going with this, but I taught my golden retriever to sit, shake, and lay down in about 5 minutes. In minute 6 as soon as I so much as looked at him he would sit, then shake, then lay down before I could even say a word. He was an asshole, too.
  8. Local rats had a hell of a hurricane after party. it was crazy. Roof gone, all the walls gone but the shelves were fairly intact and well over half the bottles were fine.
  9. I mean yeah he’s right it could happen I guess. Rita had like 50 foot waves and multiple floaters broke loose. I think one did capsize. But this storm didn’t have nearly that amount of punch.
  10. Ha. Hell no.
  11. But still wouldn’t capsize. Thunderhorse had a structural failure.
  12. They finally changed the rules again sometime in July. You can call and get appointments now like you used to be able to do.
  13. Saturday a guy dove in the water off a boat, hit his head and broke his neck. EMS came to Fisherman’s Wharf but no bueno. Sunday a guy jumped in behind a boat to retrieve an anchor while the boat was still in gear. basically chopped him in half. EMS came…. You get the picture. No idea if either was alcohol related but it’s yet another reminder to be careful down here whether you are on the beach or on a boat.
  14. I knew I recognized your name just couldn’t remember why. I was also at the ‘05 aggy game, skipped the Colorado beat down , but made it to Pasadena to watch Vince bring it home. What an epic year that was. hook ‘em
  15. Yup
  16. Not the looter that was a woman. he’s stocking the shelves for when the locals come back. Seriously, TABC made them pour all of that out. Everyone stood around watching and laughing/crying.
  17. I had a small camera. This one is a little better.
  18. Was that in Port A? I know a bunch of condo owners here that got hosed, but that doesn’t sound right. She got nothing from her personal insurance and nothing from the HOA insurance?
  19. I know a few of the 80 some-odd idiots fairly well that stayed in Port A during Hurricane Harvey. The next day she found this scene at the liquor store across from IGA. She went across the street and got a cart at IGA and filled it up. I don’t really blame her.
  20. First time I have ever seen this. Only happens on unread content page. It doesn’t really bother me, it’s just different. iPad, safari.
  21. Also after they return he is going to give me a quote for another run based on time, fuel, etc. I don’t think that’s the way we want to go here. They will get plenty of supplies and if it’s like Port A they will get too much. They will need money, clothes, decent food, and beer.
  22. I think that was all rumors, and even if Mars or similar got loose it shouldn’t be a big deal. The bigger boats should be able to get out there today, it’s 6 foot seas at 6 secs which isn’t fun, but not horrible. The problem is going to be getting the people to the boats. Friend of mine that owns a crew boat based here started running up that way about an hour ago. It’s ummm, not pretty down there.
  23. Ok, so they are leaving Thursday morning and have been told they can only go as far as Baton Rouge to drop off. From there other trucks will take the supplies further south. So my original thought was good, we’ve got some time to figure out how to help later. Will start a separate thread for that after I’ve talked to immamac.
  24. Ok, 4 hours of sleep I’m good to go. Yes, but it’s always slow when it comes to hurricanes. We weren’t able to get back into Port A for almost 4 days days after Harvey. Their focus right now is power and frankly they don’t really care about the other damage yet. But I suspect you’ll start hearing about the oil and gas infrastructure today…. That’s a little different. No news on the LOOP yet so good, I think? Im headed over to Zarsky Lumber when they open this morning and will be able to talk to the guy coordinating tomorrow’s shipment of supplies.
