  1. Don't you choose to live in Oklahoma, or am I confusing my posters?
  2. This. It's always been stilted acting and over-exposition adventures of the week in a cool universe. Break ship, fix ship, upgrade ship, get back to ship, lose ship, find ship, explode ship, build new ship. The underlying "get baby Yoda to the Jedis" storyline just held the disjointed episodic chapters together better than whatever it is the Mandalorians are doing.
  3. Does college still do the 3pt and dunk contest stuff at the end of the year, where the men's and women's 3pt champs face off? Because Clark is going to roast the men.
  4. Ya know, I bet Lincoln Riley regrets his decision everyday!
  5. I disagree. He's doing the only thing that he can do. He has to thread the needle. He knows that he probably needs some of MAGA to win the primary, and he needs all of MAGA to win the general. MAGA doesn't respond to rational things like "He deserves his day in court." He has to say stupid shit like "No extradition from my state!" DeSantis is praying that Trump's crimes are serious enough to allow him to win the primary (good fucking luck) without saying anything negative about Trump. Then, after that, he can use Trump as a martyr and talk about finishing his work, pardoning him, and ending these conservative witch hunts once and for all. (All while Trump is probably continuing to mock him relentlessly.) Should be fun to watch.
  6. I mean, I'm probably put them at at least 20/1 against the field, but I'm not sure that I'd put any team in the West better than 10/1. Someone's gotta win in. Your butthole willing to take that 5% chance?
  7. I don't think anyone here is in a fucking militia, dude. Or any other gunowner that I encounter on a normal basis. I'm a fucking Aggie, and I currently work directly with the military; I know plenty of dudes with sweet built-up ARs that have them for the reasons you mention. That's why I was surprised fartingmonk tried to carry the militia's water because of one off-handed comment about them. But apologies again for the thread jack. Carry on.
  8. I admittedly don't have much experience with the "good" militias.
  9. Nefarious reasons like intimidating Pride events where open carry is legal? I guess they didn't break any laws though, so all good yeah? Dude...are you a militia member? Weird hill to die on. The timeline of the proliferation of AR weapons absolutely corresponded with the number of militia groups skyrocketing. The latter buys lots of the former. No, not the majority, but they have embraced the modern tacti-cool gun culture as hard as anyone. The multiple AR owner market seems to have a type, and it ain't hunters or those concerned with self defense. I thought I made my points pretty clear. Apparently not. Probably tried to sneak in too much needless snark. A lot bouncing around. Apologies.
  10. So your argument, in 2023, is that a permit requirement to buy a handgun is racially motivated to keep black people from defending themselves against things similar to the lynchings of 100 years ago, and that's why it should have been repealed? Just making sure that I'm understanding you correctly. Why would it disproportionately disenfranchise them today? Are you saying that the sheriffs making the assessment are still racist today and would deny them their rights, even with no criminal history? If that's your argument, I can probably get on board. ...But that's not why their GOP House repealed it.
  11. You serious, bro? Nope. I very clearly said some. Is the litmus test for responsible gun ownership that they haven't shot anybody yet? Well, I guess it's good that I didn't say that then.
  12. Also, intentional or otherwise, thanks for the making the case for the real impact of effective gun laws. Completely anecdotal and useless (but what else is this thread for at this point): the reason I don't currently own is largely because I live in California. I considered buying a shotgun to shoot clays with my friends in the desert, but it wasn't worth the entry cost or the hassle to me, despite knowing I'd pass a background check and having disposable income. Granted, I know a pissed off 18 year old would probably have more resolve than me, but it shouldn't be easy.
  13. Dude... I can't even make any jokes about it anymore. I'll leave it to the true Laker haters here.
  14. Well, that's depressing. I take back whatever stupid point it was that I was trying to make.
  15. Pretty sure you're the only person on here that I've ever called racist. So you've got that going for you, which is nice. Really not taking having your old handle outed very well, dude.
  16. Fair point. Obviously it starts with the manufacturers and would be happening to some extent without militias or dudes with massive arsenals preparing for the war, the government, the apocalypse, the zombies, the next pandemic, etc.
  17. I mean, aren't they? Or, at the very least, scared to be marginalized by a progressive black president. I don't know, I don't make a habit of reading militia webpages' mission statements. What do you think it the reason for the correlation between Obama and militia growth exploding? Which at least contributed to some of the change in the overall gun culture.
  18. Your reading compensation blows, dude. Are you in a militia? Are you considering joining one? Everyone I know owns a gun. I used to and probably will again. None of those people have dramatically impacted the exponential growth of ARs in the past two decade. Look it up: the rapid rise of militia groups took off at the onset of the Obama era. Just a fact.
  19. Oh noooooooooooo. I'm sorry the truth hurts, and you can't hide from your past. Also, who had Hunter Biden on their bingo card? It used to be my middle square with Sack.
  20. Adorable that you'd probably categorize yourself in the first category. Like creating a new handle gives you a clean slate to start fresh, and all is forgotten. Welcome to the internet.
  21. Of course not. But we should definitely still try some of them, no? This idea that a handful of posters have been passing around that common ground on gun reforms can't be found anymore because both sides are too extreme has no basis in reality and is flat out deflection. Only one side has routinely displayed zero interest whatsoever--nada--in finding common ground. They won't even address it anymore. Plenty of blue-tinted states have reached common ground on statewide gun control measures. No, not all of the laws are perfect. Some are even clumsy and ineffective...but none of them are even remotely in the same ballpark as "We're coming to take your guns" or whatever extremes gunowners are afraid of. Some states are at least fucking trying. But, like North Carolina proved a couple of days ago, Florida proved yesterday (conceal carry without a permit), and the Bruen ruling is going to prove moving forward, the political party owned by the gun lobby will snuff out any and all sensible reforms at earliest opportunity. No, the gun lobby will never ever budge an inch; maybe it's time we try to find elected leaders not beholden to them?
  22. That dude knew every single person's name in that entire building. Every one. He's been talking to this elected leaders for months. Probably years. If more people had the courage, commitment, patience, and ability to stay calm (and I sure as shit don't) like him, we might actually get somewhere.
  23. No. But neither does "nothing can ever be done because blah blah blah both sides, so what does it matter."
  24. Maybe it's not a puff piece, but you know they had to have handled her with someone resembling kid gloves, or that coward would have walked the fuck out. Great job, guys.
  25. The Australian Grand Prix rules. I know it's a little rough for you guys, but I get to watch qualifying and the race on Friday and Saturday night with a drink in my hand, right after my kids (and probably my wife) go to bed. Beats waking up on Sunday at 5:45 to watch...with a drink in my hand.
