This is a vast exaggeration. OJ put most of his wealth in real estate - the house where he lives somewhere in Florida. No matter how much your house is worth it is exempt from seizure in Florida. So whether you’re trying to collect 133 million or $133, you can’t sell a persons home in Florida - no matter how expensive -  to pay off the judgment.  And no matter how rich you are, or how much you have in ERISA 401k retirement accounts, no creditors, other than the IRS, can normally seize an ERISA account.   Those protections apply to everyone no matter how much money they have.

Now, you can do creative things using trust accounts if you are rich that poor people cannot do.  They can move a ton of money from savings accounts and investment accounts to a trust - and then they no longer own that money. Because they do longer on the money you can’t seize it.  Timing and intent determine if you can get away with it. My lawyer knowledge is bankruptcy light, so somebody else feel free to explain it far better than I did.

I am probably too stupid to understand any of the politics, but assuming it was legal to be open 24/7, what's stopping them from closing at 9 and on Sundays for profit reasons?  That's how other businesses operate.

Their concern is that once 1 chain opens on Sundays they will have to follow suit. Effectively the law protects them from a moron competitor to the detriment of the consumer.

I think he's a piece of shit, belongs in jail, single handedly dog whistled people to come out and hate my people and my brothers and sisters we are marginalized for other reasons (all th isms and phobias), and threatened our way of life as a free people, so my disdain for him could not be stronger. but a blind squirrel can find an acorn and a stopped clock is right twice a day. so that's it. fact remains, he was the first president to deviate from the make China our friend and they will see the light foreign policy that probably dates back to Nixon's visit. a fundamentally disastrous policy in hindsight.

Trump was correct on China. However, as always, his and his team’s incompetence removes any credit for this. If we want to make any progress on China, it will take the US and Europe jointly working this and punishing China for their behavior.  Trump decided to piss off the world before actually doing anything on China which removed any opportunity for real success.

The Trump tariffs on China which Biden has chosen to continue are mostly being borne through higher prices on US consumers and have likely cost American jobs on a net basis. Additionally, the American taxpayer went on the hook for billions in additional farm subsidies when American farmers cried about the retaliatory Chinese tariffs.  It’s a dumbass policy straight out of the 1700s.

Would that Ewers was that guy.  I just don't think he is and that actually may be one of the problems with this team.

As I keep saying, I think this team is a little bit mindfucked still and I think a fiery leader (who himself is not mindfucked) might have helped us move past that.

I’m really interested to see how Ewers responds. After his first year at UT, I never would have guessed that he would get his body in shape for the past season. He clearly put in a lot of work last offseason. Maybe he can lead the team into putting in that kind of effort?

  5. 2023 was a great season. Time for the coaches to grind in the portal and address some needs. The team needs to put in the work during the off-season and continue to improve. 2 fumbles and drive-killing offensive penalties were the difference last night against a great offense.

Quinn needs to take a page from the greatest:

”Whoever wants to beat Michigan in 2024, offseason workouts start…”

RC Slocum from a different state but still country, with a better university with more resources, a once in a lifetime recruit and lucked into a life time horn 3 star that proved to be a true coach on the field at QB. Take Colt and VY away and his career here would have been no different that RC at Aggy.

    * and I’m still grateful for all his what-have-yous because of those two rose bowls with VY.

Without Tim Brewster, Mack doesn’t even bother recruiting VY because it was too hard. So I attribute that title and era to him.
