any recs on a phone mount?  the one i got comes apart where the phone holding part and the bike holding part come together.

The clamp ones all generally suck. I have one but it's only used on trainer. If you want to actually carry on the road, I recommend getting a phone case, and epoxying a Wahoo or Garmin mount on back of it.

Going to be there Thursday-Monday... Staying in Kensington. Does anyone have any specific restaurant recommendations in that area?

Me too, if you mosey over to Mayfair let me know.

Are you staying on Cromwell Rd, or up towards Notting Hill?

Nothing quite like rotating the crank to feed that OC monster, at least that's been my experience.  I'm lucky to have good road riding routes available.

Just coming out of rotator cuff surgery, after 5 weeks off the bike, and about a year not able to do planks.  Its nice to be on the other side of that, but the fitness hole is going to take all summer to climb out of.  I've committed to a metric century with 2500 ft elevation in 4 weeks.  I'll be taking that in from way back, I guess.

    Great looking bike, 650.

I understand the feeling, I was off the bike for over 6 months due to all sorts of stuff, life mostly. 12 weeks in and I'm just now feeling barely reasonable.

I get skittish with road biking as well.  I'm lucky to have a ton of paved trails, and that's where I do almost all of my solo riding, and about 2/3rds of my group riding.  The main exception is my old man and I ride a 40 mile loop past some of our farms once a week come summer, but that's in the flatlands where you can hear cars coming from miles away, and they can see you.  Never felt uncomfortable in that scenario.

To me, the key is really knowing the roads and their rhythms. And it's not something you can get from Google maps, you have to actually know them.

Also, I spend a lot of time riding at 4:30 in the morning, which helps.

Gorgeous.  Hope you get it dialed in perfectly.

One reason I got it from this shop is they have a real top shelf fitter. I've refined my own fit over the years which is probably 99% there, but I want this set up perfectly. This guy is great down to all the details of cleat shimmimg and the whole 9 yards.

Which was my point that a 75 foot boat doesn’t tell you anything. That’s anywhere from less than a $100k used houseboat you can run yourself on a lake/river to bumping 8 figures for a new Viking convertible. Where do you want to use it, do you want to run it yourself, is 75 ft pulled out of the air or is there a reason behind it, etc? If cabin space is the main thing and you are looking for gulf use, you can get a 50ish foot OA Pilothouse that will have three berths and be much easier to deal with.

    I agree.

For the record a ‘75 foot boat is a pretty broad range and can go anywhere from a shaggy 10%er to a shaggy a .00001%er. They are very specific to the use you are looking for and where you plan to use it. I know a number of people that run 75+ foot Sumerset/Fantasy/Horizon’s which are perfect for lake/river use and can be had in the low to mid 6 figures. If you are looking for Gulf use, you’re looking for something completely different and need a big budget. Then the size depends completely on the style you are looking for. You could get two berths in the 50 foot range if you look at trawlers like Ocean Alexander’s and similar styles and find them in the mid 6 figures. If you want to cover more ground more quickly, you’ve got to go up in size for the same interior space and your budget will get into 7 figures quickly.

A decent 75 foot yacht is about 3 million dollars minimum for a gently used one, and a full time crew of 3 and costs about half a million a year to run. On top of that you physically couldn't get one to Lake Travis.

A Horizon is also basically a floating piece of Tupperware. With my conversations with GFTMR, I'm pretty sure he is looking for something a little different.

Is this thread dead? We need some of you 1%ers to buy something cool and post pics.

I'm trying to unwind the yacht program at the moment, but it may be picking up steam again. I was aiming to get more into cars as they are so much cheaper and easier, but alas, I keep getting sucked back in.
