  1. Yeah, I've been worrying about this. Now every high school star in the country is going to want to play for Texas. It just won't be fair for other teams.
  2. Likin' the Rhino
  3. They will. Ought to be a pretty good second half. People just catching their breath. Adjusting to the Quinn injury
  4. Suspect Sark can't use the full playbook at this point with Manning. Gotta work thru that
  5. This is the kind of team we should dominate on the ground. Come'on Sark. We Oughta roll up 300-400 yds rushing today
  6. Nice 7 play 80 yd drive coming up. 35 at half
  7. Streaming sucks right now. Think the whole nation has tuned in to see what Manning's got
  8. Looked like an injury Quinn was familiar with. Seemed resigned to his fate. Not a happy camper. Fortunately we have two great backups
  9. That said... no more designed runs. Keep the kid healthy
  10. Holy fuck.... Manning!
  11. 58-9 UT. Dogs called off middle of third QTR, but Arch still manages a score or two.
  12. Your memory is better than mine, but your argument isn't. Garrett went 15 of 40. 20 of 40 would've won a very sweet national title with our starting QB on the bench. Hopefully a lot of second stringers got to play last Sat. I don't have any info on that. It's a sad fact that injuries can happen at any time to just about anyone. You never know. Manning could be called on to finish the OU game. I want him ready. I want that natty this fucking year. If that happens it would be an amazing story you can tell your step-grandkids about. Imagine, Manning comes off the bench and leads Horns to last second win over Powerhouse OU. Let's get this kid some playing time. As for the Bulleting Board, I'm gonna keep my shotgun handy, just in case. Could be a CIA op run outta Austin. Finally, in addition to Manning's playing time, there's this:
  13. So you wanted the "Nudest" NFL fans. Don't think that's allowed here... or is it?
  14. Awww. That's so fucking sweet. I hope they put that on the team's bulleting board next week. "Remember guys, winning is important, but being a good sport means alot too."
  15. Can you imagine. A major blowout in front of 80,000 or so Aggies on National TV. Now you're talking. I think maybe you call off the dogs at 70-9.
  16. What would Alabama have done? What would Darrell Royal have done. I can recall week-in, week-out, Royal beating the hell out of the TCUs of the world. I don't think going easy was part of his make-up
  17. Finally, some recognition: Poll: Eagles, Cowboys Voted ‘Rudest’ NFL Fans, Sean Payton ‘Rudest’ Coach Eagles, Cowboys Voted 'Rudest' NFL Fans, Sean Payton 'Rudest' Coach (breitbart.com)
  18. Don't worry, he'll be playing against UTSA or whoever, next week. It's pretty much the same thing. My scenario had him (and a boatload of other 2nd and 3rd stringers) kicking ass in the fourth quarter, gaining absolutely invaluable experience as we head toward a championship run beginning mid-season. But let's face it, that's not a valid opinion. Not enough sunshine.
  19. Would have preferred to leave Michigan with a spanking they'd be moaning about ten years from now. When true freshman Garrett Gilbert walked on the field in our 2009 National Championship against Alabama, he brought with him something like 15 of 22 completions in his previous 9 appearances that year. Heck, that's almost 2.5 passes per game (okay, most likely against crappy opponents). Shoulda been ready. Against Alabama, he went 15 of 40. Even with that, seems like we were still in that game up until the waning moments. (FWIW, after college, he spent 7 yrs in the NFL.)
  20. Great call, Cleveland. Refs can't help you now
  21. Looks like the refs have stepped up their efforts to keep the game close (for the benefit of the viewers, of course).
  22. Anyone here who thinks Sark didn't take his foot off the gas in the Second half? I'm debating whether it was because he didn't want to tear a rookie head coach a new asshole in front of the nation, or was it because he didn't want to share any more of our playbook. I think a better option would have been to go balls to the wall and have us up say 55-10 one drive into the fourth quarter, let every schoolboy in the nation get a look at America's next dynasty (in fucking Austin fucking Texas, not some backwoods dirtwater town) , and let Arch play almost the entire fourth quarter. Final score UT 65, National Champions 13.
  23. In Ewers last possession or two he didn't do much, but I think he threw one or two passes. There might have been six or seven minutes left. Game fucking out of reach to Michigan, and it would have been awesome to see Arch complete a pass or two, maybe get a first down or two, run five or six minutes off the clock and end the drive with a TD. Coulda easily happened. Talk about excitement. Talk about a confidence builder. And don't think for a minute that because Arch's folks like Austin or belong to some fucking country club, etc, that they didn't care if their all-star son, that every college in the country wanted, a kid who had a stellar high school career, only got to hand the ball off three times into the line. They have the highest expectations in the world for their kid. As do we all. We know what he's capable of. I'd like to hear Sark's reasons.
  24. Yeah. If only that had been a 65-yard run...-)
