  1. Pound it down their fucking throats

  3. Figured there was a chance he'd miss it at 45yds, but after that run... What a bunch of fuckheads
  4. I'll take that deal over Dak any day. Evers is smart. Fucking Dak.... He's also accurate, just like a young Troy Aikman. Aikman fucking rocked almost immediately (yeah, I know. That first year was more like rocky... but there was never any doubt that he was gonna be great.). Imagine old Jer' shuffling off to Buffalo about the same time. New, non-barnyard coach? Get some excitement back into the mix. The team probably needs to take a bath this year. Get some very high draft pics. Another good reason for dumping Dak. The sooner he's a bad memory, the better.
  5. Longhorns, 45-14
  6. It's hard to believe a QB who has never been a starter in the NFL can't simply come in and immediately give an all-star performance. Obviously Lance needs to go. But suppose over the season, a thousand reps helps him improve by 50%. Next year he only throws 2 pics per game, or maybe one? Next year he improves his ability to tuck and run, maybe makes one or two fifty yarders per game? He's fast, right? How's he gonna look behind a team that adds an extra fifty million or so to their cap? Maybe a couple of unstoppable young pass rushers? Two or so premier offensive linemen (who will pull up those around them)? Fuck Dak. He's injury prone. He peaked a couple of years ago.
  7. So much the better. Deliver a little Texas hospitality to those Alabamans
  8. Ran into a '63 grad last weekend. A few fond memories. 1963: Roger Staubach brings in his #2 Navy squad to face #1 Texas on New Years Day in the Cotton Bowl. National Championship on the line. Duke Fucking Carlisle at QB and we kicked their asses. Something like 28-6 as I recall. Carlisle led the team in rushing with 54 yards! Tommy Nobis only sophmore starter. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=texas+vs+navy+1964+cotton+bowl+ Joe Namath bring Alabama to the Cotton Bowl. Late in the game they're at our one yard line - a score and they win - and a Namath keeper falls short. Friend had it on good authority that the ref told Namath that he was "Two Inches Short." We saw some great football in those days. UT was perenially in the Top Five. 1969 Cotton Bowl: Joe Theisman and Notre Dame lose to Texas for Nat'l Championship. I think Street was our QB. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=texas+vs+notre+dame+1970+cotton+bowl Theisman returns next year. UT 32 game win streak on the line, and even with nine fumbles, Eddie Phillips gets us to the ND ten yardline in the final drive, but we lose, dammit. Phillips first home challenge earlier that year against UCLA. 22 game win streak on the line... Fifty yard TD pass with 12 seconds left.
  9. So Barnyard Mike and Hillbilly Fart Parade at odds (good riddance): From Athlon Sports/MSN Serious Internal Tension Reportedly Brewing Within Cowboys Organization
  10. Mother fucker. Geez. Well the game would be over if it wasn't for those two Motherfucking Errors.
  11. Nice play at first
  12. There's something awkward about that SS's throwing motion. It looks a little too sidearm for accuracy
  13. 247Sports updated preseason rankings. Georgia, Ohio State swap places. Updated Preseason College Football Rankings Feature A New No. 1 Team (msn.com) Crawford's top-ten was as follows: Ohio State Buckeyes Georgia Bulldogs Texas Longhorns Oregon Ducks Alabama Crimson Tide Ole Miss Rebels Michigan Wolverines Missouri Tigers Penn State Nittany Lions Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  14. Breaking news: Fat Mike announces eminent release of his new "Barnstorm Offense" which will feature schemes so sophisticated and unstoppable that it won't require good players to implement. He developed the offense back when he was unemployed and evaluating trends, but has waited to "unleash" it until the time was right. "Who wants to watch a bunch of primadonas anyhow," he was quoted as saying... by someone... "It's more fun to watch a bunch of average players led by average players pulling together as a hard-working team... Kinda like a team of oxen or horses..." Also, "Put on your workboots. Next season gonna be a real hoe-down."
  15. MSN headline: Cowboys draft nightmare comes true. Panthers select Brooks
  16. Five year projection Cowboys stand by Dak. His stats get worse every year. The team gets worse every year. Cowboys can't get rid of him. Trey Lance traded. Makes strides as backup. Gets starter role. Wins Super Bowl. Junior Jones arrested and imprisoned for trying to smother father in his sleep. Jerry Jones continues to run team from Iron Lung. As hail mary, rehires Jason Garrett to return Cowboys to greatness. Garrett, who has been in his garage workshop studying NFL trends for three years, brings back Dave Campo, another Trend Watcher. Cowboys convince Dak to retire and then win ten games. Senile Jones loses Cowboys in poker game to unemployed construction worker. Court upholds. Fans celebrate. New era begins. So folks, only five more years of this shit and we'll be ready to roll.
  17. New Influencer named Andrea Botez. Has a nice look. Chess Player
  18. Jones has always gone cheap on coaches... probably did so with Jimmy Johnson too. It occurs to me, or wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't a deeper story behind Johnson's sudden departure. What if a big talking Jerry Jones told his pal Jimmy that if he came to work for him in Dallas, and if he was successful, Jones would give him a piece of the pie, or some amazing incentive, and that after three Superbowls, Jimmy decided to call his bluff... Jones of course would have said no. I dont need you to win. It would be the kind of "disagreement" neither could really talk about afterward, but it would also be the kind of broken verbal contract that someone like Johnson wouldnt stick around to bitch about - that he would bolt immediately.
  19. Follow up: decided against using the Roundup Broadleaf on the St. Augustine except in a spot or two (as a test). The Roundup seems to be working pretty good on the broadleaf everywhere I sprayed. It's only been a week or so. In the test areas, can't see any damage to the St. Augustine. It's starting to green up a little. Re the beauty of St. Aug in Texas: As a kid in San Antonio we planted a front and back yard with st. aug runners by punching a hole in the ground with screwdrivers. The yard had some shade and always looked great when it got enough water. Good shade helps, OTOH pounding a baseball (wiffle ball) diamond between the front door and the street, the pyracanthas and the driveway on the sides, took its toll. Now I'm dreading going after the broadlear I didn't poison. Hoping that mowing with a grass catcher will do the trick - just let the grass choke out the weeds. That's suit my pallet just fine.
  20. Dateline: Central Texas So late last year laid down a palate of St. Augustine over existing weeds (getting nasty) and Bermuda (weakening). Watered twice a day for two weeks and seems to have taken hold. Looked great for five or six weeks then winter hit and it went dormant. Seen more broadleaf weeds then in previous years. I've been warned that pre-emergent on this new lawn was unwise, so I didn't do any. Same for spraying for broadleaf. But I'm wondering, since most of the grass blades are dead, is a broadleaf spray gonna hurt anything? The one someone gave me is made by roundup, actually - not the traditional kill-everything Roundup. I suppose there's a case to be made for the broadleaf killer to affect the St. Augustine roots. (I'm seeing some green blades, already). So what's the verdict from Surly's Lawncare Gurus on the broadleaf treatment? And while we're at it, I did put down pre-emergent on my existing Bermuda sections a couple of weeks ago. I think I got that in under the wire, but what say you on using it now (on a friend's yard) which will soon be sodded. Is it too late? And by the way, I'm catching a lot of flack for not watering enough during the winter. Seems to me it was a fairly wet winter. And if the ground is so fucking dry, why the hell is all this broadleaf coming up. Thanks in advance.
  21. Red Right Hand - Orlando Bloom. He's changed since he was an elf in LOTR. I like some of the stuff he's done in the last few years, but this one was about a 5 outta 10. Lot of plot holes. Some characters you like, but just a shoot'em up at the end.
  22. Cowboys McCarthy and Zimmer's absence at combine raises eyebrows in NFL circles (msn.com) 10h ago
