the idea that a stock would rocket from $.05 cents to almost $9 because they bought two shit drone companies that nobody had ever heard of is a testament to the idiocy of a lot of OTC pump and dumps. I would argue that this one has held up surprisingly well compared to HMBL, FPVD and a few others that a lot of us were fucking with, but they do have some actual revenue generating ability (money losing, but they actually are conducting business). Not that I have stopped my occasional gamble in stocks that I know are P&D's, I usually jus try to get out after a quick double up.

Pennies require a lot of baby sitting and to you point being able to take profits. I rode HMBL all the way up where I was 20x my investment and then all the way back down. I had several others that were 2x but I was waiting for that home run just o see if now drop to 50% of what I put in. If you are not watching it each day and being smart about at least taking your original investment off the table it's not worth playing.

Does look like RXMD might have some life left. Just need another 80% rise and I'll get out at break even

I saw that too and was also surprised. My exact thought was "how tf do they have 2,800 employees to layoff in the first place??". Anyway, like you said, seems like what's going to happen is someone with deep pockets will buy them. I read Amazon or Nike, doesn't seem like Apple is too interested. Not hard to see why their growth has slowed so much, but every corporation on Earth jacks off to subscription business models these days and there's also all the sweet, sweet user data they collect that's very valuable.

Here's my honest opinion after owning one for a year and a half: the cost isn't worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's a good device and a good service. My wife loves it and it's gone a long way toward keeping her sane during the pandemic. We did have some minor mechanical issues with our bike early on (noisy bearing), but the service experience was good. My problem is I just think $40/mo is too much for what you get. That's a gym membership. That's 3X what I pay Netflix. If the bike itself was pretty inexpensive, I could see $40/mo. Or if the service was, say, $15/mo I wouldn't complain. If we had it to do over again, I'd push my wife to look at some of the copycats that have popped up.

$40 a month is a low tier gym. Not near what you would pay for Equinox or even Gold's / 24Hour with decent options.

But I think it's a different market altogether... the trend of working out at home is not going away. It's just as effective yet way less time consuming as you don't have to drive to the gym. They people that are still going to gyms want to be at a gym.

I think there are a lot of copycats that will eat in to profits but they have built a pretty amazing cult following.

OU seat selection is GREAT news. Will be interesting to see how many prime seats are blocked off for university use - been very disappointed with my OU seats recently.

Also classic Texas - increasing prices, 100% of which is to the season ticket cost a year after making a big deal about locking in seat gift amounts. Knew that was going to happen!

CDC hinted at raising donation levels last year was my interpretation. It doesn't look that that actually happened which was their who point in locking in now. Didn't they say new ticket holders from '22 on would be subject to rising donation levels? Did they actually move forward with that?

Frontier and Spirit are merging to create an even bigger shitty airline.  Look forward the airport fights.

Peloton seems to be in play for multiple buyers.  Personally, I'm hoping for Apple.  I like the product and hope it sticks around.  Amazon would be good as well being that they don't seem to care about profit.

Hopefully Amazon or Apple pays $50 a share for them so I can get out at break even :(

  5. only way to learn is to drink from the firehose, lol.

Is that from owning a parcel in Decentraland? I see people selling parcels for all amounts but have not looked into what options there are once you own it and how easy that would be.

  6. Has anyone bought anything dealing with the Metaverse?

I bought a Suite but some of the other SOL projects like Portals look interesting. Portals are now a floor of 70 SOL but some other one (LUX Real Estate) just minted and is sitting around 7 SOL. The portals look like a place you can decorate and perhaps show off your NFT collection but will have gaming elements to it.

I was thinking the school districts would go virtual (at least Austin, since the kids all have devices), but if they aren't even doing that, it probably means they are guessing there will be plenty of power outages due to the ice.

My K teacher just sent a note that she is sending iPads home with the kids in case but to what you said mentioned very likely that school is cancelled entirely.

And hating it if you’re a parent….with a job…in which you work from home

Wait, is President's Day a school holiday?

Or even if you dont work from home you will be when the roads are icy. And if you had childcare that's no longer going to happen since those will be closed or they can't make it to your house. Fucking Feb.

True dat, and the long term reduction in health care expenses for US economy from the elderly and those with multiple health conditions dying from Covid will be an interesting economics paper one day.

So maybe I can count on Social Security and Medicare to be around when I need it...

I had the NBA Top Shot points, so I was able to buy a Holo legendary pack today. $999.  I know that's crazy to spend that much. But I like the gambling aspect. Got 7 nobodies for the common moments.

    But then I got

    • LaMelo Ball rare. relatively low serial #. Probably worth at least $1K.
    • And the big item...  a low serial #, Luka Doncic Legendary moment. boom.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do, but I think I'm going to sell the Luka and keep the LaMelo. I'm not in the Legendary league and prefer buying/selling the common and occasional Rare moments.  Other Luka legendary moments sell in the $8-12K range.

Wow. Amazing pulls. The Luka is already selling for $8K.

In other NFT worlds have you heard of "The Suites"? 5000 unique sports viewing suites that the idea is some sort of gathering of individuals can gather in your suite. Still reading up but post minting the floor price was 13 SOL yesterday.

My amateur prediction is the next 6 months will be rough followed by 18 months of unprecedented prosperity.  Fed/errbody underestimating what % of price increases is due to supply issues rather than money supply.  This will unwind over the course of the spring/summer.  By fall we will see prices on consumer goods start to come down or at least stabilize.  Mid term elections will likely ensure gridlock which is always good for markets.  There are still major risks (Ukraine/Russia, US political instability, to a lesser degree COVID) but I think 2023 is going to be an all-timer.

I sure hope so. My portfolio is so beaten down over the last few months. I need "unprecedented prosperity" just to get back to where I was earlier last year.
