  1. Key metric is to pipeline new grads into $100k a year jobs within 90 days of graduation.
  2. I'd pay $100 to have a grizzly bear roll me around in a cube like that. It would be awesome.
  3. Upside down guy trapped in a cave story easily tops the freezer guy story. The ISIS and/or Mexican drug cartel videos round out the other 4 of the top 5. Chainsaws, fire, drowning hard to know what would be the worst.
  4. Dallas will need to hit rock bottom before it can get better. Dallas has a rapidly accelerating speed to get itself to that. Mayor Johnson should rapidly destroy things with the help of the his DCC friends and the media. Just wreck it. For instance: As of 7/22/19 the City of Dallas has yet to pickup any storm debris from my neighborhood. That storm was when...June 9th? Pretty ridiculous that basic city services can be dragged out for so long.
  5. That's what ended up getting their opponents elected. No real substance to the allegations. Just that Griggs and Kingston called out the BS. Dallas is going downhill so quickly. In order not to be "rude" or labeled a "troublemaker" there can be no dissent. Just shut up and go along with it.
  6. Won't be long now before The Community petitions City Hall to rename a South Dallas street for Carolyn Davis. He was in the worst stretch of Dallas. I do some volunteer work in that area and I'm the only white guy other than a Catholic priest a little further down the street. Crime largely goes unreported in this area where calling 911 on someone else often brings reprisals down the road.
  7. In NOLA the 9th Ward still has the lowest levees at 20 feet. Many of the other levees in NOLA are 22 feet as a universal standard. It's hard to gauge right now but that 20 foot number elsewhere often translates to about 19 feet in the 9th Ward. Uptown/Carrollton area of NOLA has 23 foot levees because that's where a lot of the money is at. I wonder if the pump stations are working. So much federal money was dumped into new pump stations that should leave most of the city high and dry from big rains. City government can go to hell for letting the streets flood with all the pump station infrastructure paid for by people living outside of Louisiana.
  8. /applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Interesting if the forecast holds.
  9. A utility contractor will likely saw them up long before the concrete fades. Carts before horses are standard practice in Dallas. In Downtown Dallas, intersections are sawed up yearly for infrastructure work. Same will apply in the gayborhood.
  10. Looks like the tellers had no cash in their drawers? Does that money counting machine behind the counter act as some kind of safe like those at 7-Elevens?
  11. MEPS I thought was in the old Annex there on Houston. I see kids lined up there at 6am many mornings with a couple sailors or airmen talking to them likely their recruiters.
  12. 210 rounds is a standard loadout for an infantry soldier which would be (6) 30 round magazines plus 1 in the rifle. For a trained rifleman that would be quite a bit of ammo to run through. The Dallas gunman had what looked like at least one 40 round magazine. I have an identical magazine to that and it's a little fickle sometimes with failure to feed. I would not want to take that into a life threatening situation. The 40 round magazines are for goofing around with. His whole kit was a mess. Literally the cheapest chinese junk loadout possible.
  13. The fatal shot apparently came from inside the building according to the Dallas Morning News photographer on scene. I thought it would have been the gunfire engagement down the street. Had to of been a rifle shot because photos of the gunman show his lungs and heart liquified and oozing out onto the pavement.
  14. Dallas is behind the curve on EMS related needs. I think Dickey's BBQ bought all of the vests and helmets for Dallas Fire Rescue.
  15. His boots were not even tied. It worries me people like this exist. I am thankful he decided to chose a hardened and secure facility with armed staff rather than a soft target with people who can't stand much of a chance of fighting back.
  16. He appears to be a 22 year old cosplay loser from Dallas. Woodrow Wilson High School grad. Dallas Morning News reporting this is him: https://www.facebook.com/brian.clyde.50 Looking at his FB page he has photos of his magazines used in today's attack. Rifle he used looks like a crummy low end AR that can be had for about $400 OTD.
  17. The guy who took the photo was stuck out there with nowhere to go. Pretty sure the guy huddled next to the column is Dallas Morning News photographer Tom Fox.
  18. Brass balls photographer award goes to whoever took this photo
  19. https://twitter.com/BrandonToddFOX4/status/1140651959189430273/video/1 Good video of the gunman being engaged by law enforcement. End of the video he drops like a sack of potatoes.
  20. Hope no one else was injured. Police presence is large in scope. First time I have seen firefighters in their new body armor.
  21. Looks like a Heat remake. Bad guy neutralized quickly. Looks like he had an AR15 and wore a plate carrier, baclava and fatigues. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2019/06/17/shots-fired-federal-courthouse-downtown-dallas
  22. Some reports are saying torpedoes but judging by the damage I would say something else. Something like a Kilo Class submarine would finish off a tanker with just one torpedo.
  23. Serial killer arrested, he might have killed at least 4 people and maybe up to 7 so far: https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/crime/dallas-police-arrest-suspected-serial-killer-in-connection-with-muhlaysia-bookers-death/287-d8b48e8f-522a-4dce-96aa-bb2fc013a5b2 Dallas police arrest suspected serial killer in connection with Muhlaysia Booker's death Kendrell Lyles is charged with three homicides, and Dallas police call him a person of interest in another. Two of the victims are black transgender women. DALLAS — A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of Muhlaysia Booker. Kendrell Lavar Lyles is connected with at least two other homicides and is considered a person of interest in the case of a transgender woman found dead in White Rock Lake, Dallas police said Wednesday. Lyles was linked to Booker's death while police were investigating two other homicides. They learned that Lyles drives a light-colored Lincoln LS that matches the description of a car Booker was seen getting into the morning she was found dead.
