  1. Kimbrel has allowed 4 homers and 8 walks in 10.2 innings. Terrific signing.
  2. I feel like we are reaching a point where there 5 teams in each league that are clear above the rest. AL: Astros, Yankees, Red Sox, Twins, Indians NL: Dodgers, Braves, Cubs, Nationals, Cardinals The trade deadline could change things (and this is baseball, weird shit could happen), but I think this is the top 10
  3. Teoscar walks it off. The Jays were down 6-1 after 2 innings...
  4. Unreal choke here by the Rays against one of the worst teams in the AL. Not a playoff team
  5. Adam Eaton just had one of the ABs of the year and singles to tie it in DC. Worked an 11 pitch AB against Ryu
  6. Today is the 4th straight day someone has 3 HRs in a game. 2019 for ya
  7. The Cardinals are red hot all of a sudden. They’re 11-3 since the ASB and tied with the Cubs at the top of the Central
  8. Coburn and Wilbon will rotate to stay fresh. Probably need a 3rd option to step up too (Ojomo?) Is Caleb Johnson an option at Mac? Would love to see Overshown get some PT at LB or S.
  9. He’s been the Twins daddy this series. Yankees acquired him from Minny for JR Murphy. Decent trade
  10. The funny thing is the Mets had a deal lined up first for Gomez (for crying Wilmer Flores and Zack Wheeler) that fell through over a physical (which in hindsight is hilarious that the Mets of all teams nixed a deal over medical issues). Houston probably stands pat at that point if Gomez is gone. The Mets ended up getting Cespedes a few days later for Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa.
  11. Summary of that article: 1) Bowtie got offended by Bill Powers 2) Bowtie thinks LHN isn’t fair 3) Aggy wants SEC but scared of Baylor. 4) Aggy finally gets invited to SEC. 100 year decision. 5) Johnny won a heisman and beat bama once 6) Jimbo
  12. So the Giants have played themselves out of selling right? I don’t think they’re actually good, but they’re only 2 back of a playoff spot
  13. Remember when we had Joe Wickline and not Herb Hand? Night and day.
  14. So we’re gonna fuck around and land the #1 class in 2021 aren’t we?
  15. The Rays need some serious upgrades at the deadline if they’re going to hang in this.
  16. Reading now on the Athletic, that while the LSU OL is experienced, they were bad last year (12th in SEC in rush yards before contact, 6th worst in pressure rate, 2nd worst in sack rate) Maybe that’s not such an advantage for them.
  17. My only worry is that LSU’s experienced OL exerts its will on our vulnerable D-Line and linebackers and gives Burrow enough time for their talented (if unproven) receivers to get open. Or if their OL opens up holes for their RBs, forcing us to bring safeties into the box, leaving our young corners 1 on 1.
  18. It seemed for a while that a Rays/Red Sox WCG would be almost a sure thing (they both had playoff odds of over 75% just a month ago), but the Indians and A’s are threatening to send both of them home before October.
  19. The Athletic article today was great. A good reminder that not only did Texas hold all the cards in 2010, but we essentially control the future of college athletics when the Big 12 grant of rights expire in 2025. Thankfully, Steve Patterson will not be the AD.
  20. The Giants won again in 16. 9 in a row for them
  21. “Head Coach Jimbo Fisher once again proves no doubt that he is the now the best recruiter in the mighty SEC by landing 4-star stud QB Haynes King out of Longview, TX. King, the 13th rated player in TX by 247, and now ranked number 2 in the Looch 44 behind elite Aggie commit WR Demond Demas, is criminally underrated by recruiting services despite drawing comparisons to a young Brett Favre according to TexAgs lead recruiting analyst Olin Buchanan. King soundly outplayed Texas commit Hudson Card in the highly important Elite 11 competition which TexAgs studies have shown are the most effective way of evaluating quarterbacks. Jimbo Fisher and staff left no stone unturned in finding the elite signal caller from East Texas, proving once again that the Texas A&M staff have lapped the Texas staff in recruiting. With his QB in hand, Jimbo Fisher will continue to strike fear in the heart of Nick Saban as he continues his conquest for the top recruiting ranking in the country’s premier conference (which is the SEC and not the laughable Big 12). What’s next? Head Coach Jimbo Fisher now turns his sights to elite RB Zach Evans who will require more than just the usual bag hag.” -Looch
