Does he refer to him as the rock thrower?  Or doe he know the saga of TxTow on the shag?

He didn't mention the Shag but he did refer to him as the rock thrower and that he had like 200 911 calls reporting the "accidents". Jeff said he never opens his mail at work because it probably has ricin it it lol. He said Ed Clements brought it to him so he opened it for once and it was crazy txtow's screed.

I was wondering if txtow had made a comeback or something. Thread does not deliver.

Jeff Ward said on the radio yesterday that TXTow recently wrote him a 3 page insane letter.

  3. I have an actual Kiowa buddy who grew up on a reservation.  He tells me that half of the white dudes he has met claim to be 1/16th (not 1/4 as I said earlier) Cherokee.  He assumes because they were deemed one of the most civilized (alphabet etc).

That is the most Todd Snider thing I’ve heard in a long time.  Maybe ever.

What was even cooler was Brian his manager came over to us right before the show and asks us for weed because "We brought an ounce yesterday and he's smoked it all and he is melting down." I only had one joint on me so I tore it in two, gave him half and Todd got his head right so, you know, I pretty much saved the show.

    The news was good.

  5. Anyone else at the Gruene Halloween show where his costume was Jerry Jeff Walker and he (JJW) told his life story and played JJW songs songs all night. No one knew he was going to that and some people were pissed and called out for TS songs. He would just say "HEY! I'M JERRY JEFF WALKER!"

He did play one Todd sojg because it was one that JJW recorded. Maybe Alright Guy?

  6. This might be my most treasured musical moment ever. Recorded at the Moody where I dragged my group of friends down to see some dude that I had been going on and on about as if he were Eddie Van Halen and the Eddie Van Halen Band.

I've made close lifelong friends by going to Todd's shows and they are all crushed this morning.

To me these lines are some of the best poetry ever written and seem fitting today:

Good lord if you're up there you sure got some nerve

Seems that even the wicked get worse than they deserve

    We're afraid to die

    Every goddamned one of us

I swear to god it's like you're making fun of us

Not worth keepin', or too good to keep

You got a better kinda secret, better wait 'til I'm asleep

And if you're so God almighty well then what's with all this mystery?

Yes, I wanna trust you, buddy, but you're clearly keeping secrets from me

    Too soon to tell.

    Sail on Todd.

  7. I think he has passed. At least the Shithouse Choir thinks so. I'm fucking crushed. Like losing a brother. I'm gonna literally cry myself to sleep in my favorite tshirt that I happened to wear to Stop Making Sense at the Paramount tonight with my only child who grew up singing todd songs with me on road trips.

    I hope it's a dream. Fuck

But then you don't get to open the can of randomly timed explosive death!

My dad tells the story of when he was a kid and his mom wanted to leave the farm and visit her sister in the big city of Winters but his dad demanded biscuits every morning.  Man she made great biscuits.  Well along came canned biscuits and she told him the biscuits are in the can and all you have to do is put them in the oven.

My dad recalls lying in bed the next morning when there was a loud explosion in the kitchen.  He runs in and sees his dad scraping biscuits off of the walls of the oven because he just put the whole unopened can in there.

First guy I ever had to fire literally had a folder on his work laptop titled "(Employee's) Porn." And it was. Called IT, HR, and the managing partner in before it was opened.

We has a maga machinist at work who used to watch porn right as his lathe while anyone walked by.  HR finally put an end to it.  He was also a high school girls volleyball ref which I found even creepier.

  10. I had an extra ticket to see McCartney in San Antonio and a good friend of mine has a nephew that wanted it so cool.  He is a 30 something farmer/rancher from Bosque County.  He was going on about how Trump has fucked the farmers and that he and many he knows are near bankruptcy and if it wasn't for his solar farm subsidies he couldn't make it.  I'm thinking to myself "Aren't cattle prices at an all time high?"  Anyway, he gets asked who he voted for and he sheepishly says "Trump, both times. The first time it seemed like a good idea.  The second time was me being a dumbass.  I regret it all now and talk all the shit I can about Trump."  I don't know why he said he voted both times instead of 3 but I assume he misspoke and voted for the orange turd 3 times.

He says trips to the feed store are fun as the locals talk all kinds of ugly shit about his solar farm.

that was my first time at the alamodome, what a terrible venue. the other 2 times i've seen him were at outdoor venues and i enjoyed those much more. echoey sound and the lack of fireworks was kinda shitty. he stil puts on a hell of a show for an 83 year old but i think he's lost a step since i last saw him 6 years ago. never gonna complain about seeing one of the best ever play for almost 3 hours, but more than likely not gonna dish out the money to see him again.

i asked one of the beer vendors if there was any place in the arena that sold better beers...she laughed and said, "sorry, san antonio is not on that level".

    The margaritas were surprisingly good.
