Me too. Poor Mo and her family/friends. Sentencing begins today at 3:55 pm and there will be no cameras. Too bad. I wanted to watch that cunt squirm while Mo’s family and friends give powerful impact statements and any impact statements the prosecutors want to present. Fuck her. I’ve spent time around victims of true crime and they can’t even process Mo’s death because of the trial/arrest etc…it’s horrific for the victims loved ones. Horrible.

Well you can't drown a bunch of people in Town Lake without being around victims of true crime.

  2. I punted this stranger dude in the face at an all out beer joint brawl that he started.  Left him out cold in a puddle of blood only to find out 20 years later he had nearly died and had had a lengthy hospital stay.  Turns out he was notorious in and around Coleman as a bully that had beat the living shit out of many people including his tiny wife.  Some 20 years later his wife told an friend of mine that she was sure he was someday going to kill her or someone else until that fateful night and in fact he had gone around town on an apology tour afterwards and was a change man and husband.

I guess I came pretty close to a murder charge.

Last week, was already dealing with the hassle of getting a replacement vehicle after the daughter had a wreck (her fault -- not anything terrible, but the car was old, so not much damage totaled it).  Get a text from wife and daughter -- garage fridge and freezer died.  I ask them to make sure it wasn't a breaker flip.  Nope.  I ask them to use an extension cord to plug it in to an outlet that's working.  Nope, still no juice.  Fine, shuffle everything around to get some inside, and some over to my dad's house, I'll deal with it when I get home (the next day).  I get home late, too tired to mess with it.  Finally, on Saturday, I look it over (having already searched for replacement garage fridge on Craigslist).

Just to check, I run an extension cord inside to an outlet I know is working.  Boom, fridge fires up.  Confused, I go outside.....and see the other outlet they had tested it on.  It's a GFCI protected outlet, and it had been tripped for some reason.  That outlet is connected to the fridge outlet, so both had been offline.  I press the button, plug the fridge in where it usually goes, and all is well.

Yeah, it's on me because I shouldn't have trusted their work.  But still. I asked them to check by plugging it into an outlet they knew was working.  That didn't happen.

At least I didn't have to spend a couple hundred on a replacement fridge.  So, yay.  Freed up my Saturday to shop for and buy a replacement car.

Having a freezer or fridge on a GFCI circuit is a bad idea.  I had half a steer in my garage freezer of a rental house once that was on a GFCI circuit from the bathroom. I never used the outlet to know that it had tripped but noticed it had one day and reset it.  I found out a week later when I went to get some steaks that the meat had thawed and ruined and refrozen when I reset the switch.  200 lbs of the nastiest frozen meat popsicle you have ever seen. Or smelt.

  4. I dig those kind of shows.  I wonder if it is affiliated with the British one "The Repair Shop" on BBC or Netflix?

At the end of the Brit one the customers and I are nearly always crying because they restored something that connects them with their (usually) recently departed loved ones.  I just wish they would go into more technical detail of how they restore the items.

FWIW, I played college football on the defensive side at a major D1 program (walk-on with some PT, not a real guy, though!).

There seems to be a thread here where the media, who has an obvious interest in keeping a story going, and internet people are making a big deal of this.

And with rare exception, most former players, former coaches, and current coaches without a vested interest are like "sign stealing, yeah, we've done it, they've done it. It's part of the game." For my part, I can say that against pretty much every team we played in the early 2000s, we had their signs and we also practiced until we got their favorite base 5-10 plays down cold.

So I don't see the big deal. Good on Meatchicken for being good at what everyone does. The only way I think Michigan meaningfully gets hurt on this is if the NCAA trumps up some sort of technicality.

What years did you play for Michigan?
