What was face value for a day pass?

Saturday on seat geek is down to $214 plus I have a 5% off coupon.

    I hate high tech scalpers.

That $214 is closer to $300 after fees.

So, for real....it's been a long time since I've attended the game.  I usually hop over to I-45, so I'm approaching the fair from the Southeast, through that neighborhood.  Used to park on the field behind James Madison High school, I understand that's not in play any longer.  So...where to park over there that's reasonably safe/won't get my car windows busted in?

You've gotten some good advice already, but I park at James Madison HS every year for over 15 yrs and they even recognize us when we park.  I usually walk by a few other empty lots that are closer on the way to the fairgrounds, but these are good people and it's always easy and no issue.  We all have a routine on this day, and this is part of mine.

  3. Definitely way toned down yesterday with overall bullshit and volume so they listen to the complaints. But it always see-saws...next night game will probably be over the top obnoxious again and everyone will bitch again.  Just find a nice balance and leave it alone.  But do get rid of first down bit.

From what I’m seeing you just backwash them once a month during the hot months then put more de in the skimmers to recharge. During the cooler months it’s once every 2 or 3 months.
Then once per year you take them apart and inspect/wash the sleeves.

Was that your experience with a DE filter?

I was constantly battling algae with sand and it didn’t help that it couldn’t filter the stuff that well

I think I have a pretty big filter compared to pool size.  I have to give it maintenance 3 times a year.  2 back-washes and one full clean yearly going on three years now.  You do have to add the DE each time.  The full clean isn't too bad, but takes a while. I don't take all the fins apart...just keep spraying in between.

Damn.  That last paragraph is myself to a T.

Must be a small town kid thing.

I'm from a very small town and maybe that's part of it, but I'm with Charlie...I just always loved maps.

Wait, what happened to the East Mall fountain?

I don't think it has worked in years. Hell it was often not functional when I was there in late 90s. No clue why they don't fix it or get rid of it.

  8. Brisket on at 6am. Should be ready by 4pm, so will only get a 2 hr rest which is my minimum.  I'm usually a butcher paper wrapper, but now contemplating this foil boat thing. I have some tallow I made on July 4th so probably do something with that too in the process.

  9. Yeah, pretty sure you could during March madness too.

Nope , pre created combinations always. They create the combo screen at the servers so they don’t have to stream 4 games to you and have your device do the mixing.

Is Chip Brown already off ESPN?

Yes, he does a show with Isaiah Collier on the Texas Sports Unfiltered.  And starting next week, they also have a one hour show with Mike Hardge!  So basically everybody fired from or left the horn in the last couple of years are part of that thing.  Bold strategy...

Edit to add: Chip was replaced by Jason Dick on ESPN (102.7)

My morning drive starts around 183/Mopac, takes me down 183 to 35, then 35 to the campus area.  I can't get a clear signal on 101.9 throughout the entire drive.  I'm sure the owners don't understand how they could have failed having an Austin radio station that can't be heard in Austin.

Well it also doesn't come in at all from campus area, back to Mopac all the way south to SH45 area.  But hey crystal clear on the app!  Which is why this other group is putting together a competing app.  A lot will say fuck it, it wasn't all that great to listen to Austin sports talk anyway, and won't go through the trouble.
