Apparently it’s a German name, and that isn’t supposed to be a “b” but a German letter that doesn’t exist in our alphabet called an eszett.

An eszett kinda looks like an uppercase “B” though, so somewhere along the line someone just said “fuck it, make it a b” even though it’s not pronounced that way at all.

Interesting but that makes sense on the pronunciation: Aßmas

off the top of my head, is jabari no.2 on the all time one-and-done list at Texas, behind only KD? as far as college career/impact goes? i'm having a tough time remembering the last player at Texas shot was so universally loved. sucks that we only had him for one season, but man what a season it was. will always love that guy. 🤘🏼

The last one and done to win a tournament game was Joseph and Thompson I believe and that team surely provided some great moments and got fucked by the committee and the ref.  Mo was well liked all around I think but that team was pretty meh.

  3. I couldn't make today's day game so sold my tickets. Now they say Saturday tickets are valid for both games. What the fuck is the reason for that?  Email says I can exchange Sunday tickets for a GA.  Why don't they use Sunday tickets for the night game??

  4. I’ve been going since 2000. I got one once. I was 22 or so. It was a Tuesday night game against who gives a shit so there were like two dozen or so people in the stands. A foul ball drops a row in front of me. I couldn’t believe it. I’m finally about to get a foul ball at a Texas game. So I snagged it and was all happy I finally got one. Then some little 8 year old shit head walks up while we’re on the Jumbotron or whatever it’s called and goes “can I have it?!?” I wanted to say no but of course I gave the little bastard the ball
Like seriously fuck that kid. Been to about a million more games than that little brat. Finally had my moment while this cocksucker is just getting his Texas baseball feet wet

My wife always talks about getting a ball just so she can tell some kid that thinks they’re entitled to it to fuck off. Will just say it’s for her kid at home. I’d like to see if she cracks but I doubt it.

I keep wondering the same thing. I tried to go that direction from the start and the bastards at Cody shut me down every time I brought it up. “It’ll rust everything, you’ll have to buy a new pool furniture every year, it’ll corrode your pumps and plumbing equipment, etc. way more hassle than it’s worth”  they said.  I wish I had stood my ground on that.

Early on I quit using chlorine tabs and only use liquid chlorine per troublefree pools method.  That has worked out well, and my chemicals stay in check all the time.  All I have ever added is liquid chlorine and some acid from time to time.  I’ve not had any algae flareups, or any chemicals getting so far out of whack that  a little more chlorine or acid didn’t fix it.  But it’s a hassle buying liquid chlorine all the time and pouring it in every couple days while I’m traveling for work.

My pool furniture is plastic and wood and I think if the salt corroded the pumps at a high enough rate more people would be bitching about it, but they’re not.   I’m sure I’ll make the conversion at some point, but I’d like to hear everybody else’s thoughts on your question.

2 years in and no issues for me.  It does raise the pH...I have to add about 2 cups of acid every week.

  6. Sorry for partying…
That is a friend of mine (well, we’ve sat across the aisle from each other for about the last 3-4 yrs.

Hopefully the TxSt dad went to jail. He attack they guy I know and was literally choking him before myself and others went there to break it up. But not before an old Wild Bunch dude clobbered him over the head with his scoring clipboard. As usual, UTPD was fucking worthless.

Haha I knew someone knew something. That’s pretty much what I saw but not what started it all.
  7. Nothing new except the ticket usage:

Due to forecasted inclement weather in the Austin area, the schedule for the Texas vs Kansas State baseball series has been adjusted. The new dates are:
    • Friday, April 7th
    • Saturday, April 8th
    • Sunday, April 9th
GAME TIMES HAVE NOT BEEN FINALIZED AND WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON THE WEATHER FORECAST. PLEASE CHECK TEXASSPORTS.COM AND TEXAS BASEBALL SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.

Tickets for Friday’s and Saturday’s game will still be honored as originally scheduled, including any tickets for Bark in the Park. Tickets for the game originally scheduled for Thursday, April 6th will now be honored on Sunday, April 9th.

  8. OK, last I'll say, is any direction is dependent upon an agreed coordinate system.  In the case of rotation, the + z-axis is coming out of the clock toward the person looking at the clock.  That's the baseline for clockwise/counter-clockwise.  For somebody standing and spinning, we've pretty much all agreed the z-axis is up.  So for @Wiler77 standing to the side of the jumper, he is assuming up for z-axis, but for the BIL looking up from the pool he is assuming facing him is the z-axis.  No agreed coordinate system...no agreed direction.

Let's say one person was on each side of the pool and the kid did a front flip.  I would hope that both would agree it was a clockwise rotation for one and counter for the other if both assumed the z-axis was facing them.

    You sure about that?

No different than left and right which depends on the point of view.  The "clock" part of the word is just using something we are all familiar with, just like we all know which is left or right when facing forward.

  10. This could be good. Team clockwise/counter-clockwise absolutely depends on the point of view.

The terms clockwise and counterclockwise can only be applied to a rotational motion once a side of the rotational plane is specified, from which the rotation is observed. For example, the daily rotation of the Earth is clockwise when viewed from above the South Pole, and counterclockwise when viewed from above the North Pole (considering "above a point" to be defined as "farther away from the center of earth and on the same ray").

I loved everything about Dillon Mitchell this year except his actual on the court game.  It's a weird thing to say I guess, but it was refreshing. 5 star. Played hard. Didn't play big minutes. Cheered his teammates on whenever he wasn't in the game.  Seemed to keep his head down and didn't pout.  None of that shit is common for a top 10 type recruit who doesn't see things going his way and is watching his NBA stock crater.  Seems like a good dude.

Yeah, Greg Brown is the most recent comparison and they were very different dudes in this category.

In the middle of putting a pool in and backyard kitchen.

Need advice on what conversation to have with the insurance company to make sure to get the right coverage, but not to overpay on premiums.

Was told my pool was covered on the 10% other structures. Now that would be about 60-70% the cost of the pool, so figured that would cover a pretty significant repair.
