  1. I don’t think anyone, especially a republican, should ever call for impeachment unless they perfectly hold all of my progressive ideas and policies.
  2. I’m still confused. Some here seem to think we do have bagmen and others seem to think we don’t. Being a large academically focused university would seem to support the idea that our bagmen have big bags and are likely smart enough to not get caught.
  3. Is it understood on this board that bagmen for other schools pay recruits but Texas bagmen don’t? Or is it that bagmen for other schools pay more than our bagmen?
  4. It was Steve Bannon. https://www.axios.com/roger-stone-steve-bannon-emails-wikileaks-assange-b50259c5-61db-49aa-9a71-411e087c49e2.html
  5. Below link provides an interview with Jim Baker, former general counsel of the FBI during the initiation of the FBI's investigation into Russia's contacts with the Trump Campaign. He talks about intelligence received from a foreign agency about Popadop, Carter Page PhD's fisa application, how the fbi handles raw intelligence like the Steele reports, whether the fbi was conducting a coup, his impression of the 100+ pages in the mueller report on russia/trump campaign contacts, the impact of Trump's attacks on the fbi and intelligence community, and tons of other stuff. He shares that Rod R. and leadership in Congress were fully briefed and on board with expanding the fbi investigation to Trump himself after Comey's firing. He notes that election system security is his primary concern going forward. https://www.lawfareblog.com/lawfare-podcast-bonus-edition-jim-baker-russia-investigation
  6. You won’t be able to catch that chicken with your pants around your ankles
  7. Someone help me here. Some of the dossier has been confirmed. Some of it hasn’t been confirmed. Only a little has been shown to be untrue. How is it relevant whether parts are true or not at this point? Why are people not able to understand that everyone knew it was unverified intelligence (essentially rumors) meant to point investigative journalists and federal investigators in various directions to confirm or deny its reports? It wasn’t released before the election. The dossier served its function. We have multiple indictments, uncovered Russian meddling, uncovered trump campaign’s lies and outreach to and sharing of data with Russia, and a potus that attempted to cover it all up. Why does it matter whether 60% or 90% of the dossier is true? Why are people unable to grasp what unconfirmed intelligence is? It seems that if you aren’t able to catch the chicken then at some point you will stop trying to fuck it.
  8. If we are talking about the Carter Page PHD FISA warrant, then there will need to be 4 judges put in jail. I’m sure they are already in jail though and the FBI has already been shutdown as a result of the devastating Nunez Memo!!?!? Serious question. Why are people still bringing up FISA abuses and “being spied on?” Didn’t we all live through the Nunez and Gowdy stupid train when the GOP had the house? What am I missing?
  9. The beginning about trump eating souls was referring to Comey's oped breaking down the decline of rosenstein, barr, and others. It was rather funny if you had read the oped. They are with brookings and lawfare. Hennessey and Wittes always provide superior insight and analysis
  10. The most important point is that it is completely irrelevant whether some of the dossier is accurate, most of it is accurate, or none of it is accurate. Its a false analysis that plays to the GOP/trump/Fox narrative. The only point that is relevant is that everyone knew that the dossier was simply unverified intelligence. The FISA courts knew this. The journalists who had the dossier for months prior to the election and didn't publish knew this. Unverified intelligence is simply gossip. The purpose of unverified intelligence is to point investigative journalist and federal investigators in various directions to confirm or substantiate rumors. That is the only purpose of unverified intelligence.
  11. Benjamin Wittes has a great article breaking down Barr's several slight-of-hand mis-characterizations that build upon each other to the point that the DOJ has become the defense attorney of trrump. Wittes was a guy that had previously given Barr the benefit of the doubt but here freely describes the destroyed reputation of both Barr and unfortunately the DOJ. It is crazy how so many of our agencies have devolved under trump - FAA, ICE, Homeland, State, Education. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/05/bill-barrs-performance-was-catastrophic/588574/
  12. Quality podcast. First 10 minutes is a rather scathing take on Barr's current reputation and how he handled Mueller. https://www.lawfareblog.com/rational-security-eating-your-soul-small-bites-edition
  13. Didn’t Devin Nunez and Trey Gowdy super tag team the Carter Page PhD FISA application when the GOP had the House and then compose the dreaded “Nunez Memo,” which almost instantly led to destruction of the FISA process, jailing of a bunch of FISA judges, and then termination of the entire FBI? Or am I misremembering and everyone actually laughed at the Nunez Memo?
  14. There is DOJ policy that they can’t indict a sitting president. Per their policy, they have to wait to indict for obstruction until he leaves office through impeachment or after his term.
  15. Voting third party in a two-party system only makes sense if you are a republican and decide to vote libertarian.
  16. After Donal Trump, the GOP has Jr., Ivanka, and Eric lined up and waiting. It’s going to be dynasty, not dissimilar to duck dynasty
  17. In depth discussion on the many questions surrounding the mueller report. Prosecuting a past president for crimes committed while in office. Appropriateness of choosing not to interview trump. etc. etc. etc.
  18. But look what they did to poor mr Carter Page PhD!!!?!
  19. Everyone knew the Steele reports were raw intelligence, which are just rumors from unverified sources. It was intended to point federal investigators and investigative journalists in various directions to investigate and corroborate. That is what it did. Much of the Steele reports has turned out accurate: - russian regime had been cultivating trump for 5 yrs in effort to divide western alliances. TRUE - one aspect to influence trump was to exploit his sexual perversions. POSSIBLY TRUE. Cohen and Mueller investigated Russian tapes and were unable to deny their existence. Trump and Cohen discussed tapes - russia was using state sponsored cyber operations TRUE - kremlin behind dnc emails released by Wikileaks TRUE - Russian and trump coordination was managed by Manafort POSSIBLY TRUE. Manafort was providing polling data to Russia and has not cooperated with investigators. - Page holds secret meetings in Moscow with Rosneft official MOSTLY TRUE. Steele said it was rosneft president but it was a lower level employee. - trump paid bribes and hookers in St. Petersburg UNKNOWN. Hasn’t been investigated. - Russians had more emails on Clinton waiting to be released TRUE - Cohen’s secret meeting Prague UNLIKELY TRUE. Mueller didn't investigate but dismissed it based on Cohen’s testimony
  20. This is good. I would add ‘tax cuts pay for themselves’ to your bulleted list as a recent example of the GOP’s acceptance of stupidity
  21. Ongoing lines of inquiry in the house off the top of my head. - trump taxes (I’m not really sure what could come out of this but it seems there is a reason to keep secret) - trump org finances (Cummings has issued a subpoena and it’s going to court) - White House security clearances (Cummings has issued a subpoena but White House is fighting) - Family separation policy (I haven’t seen much about this since Feb) - Mueller’s findings (I understand Barr, McGahn, Mueller are all expected to testify) - Emoluments violations (Engel is running with I believe)
  22. And that is all good and fine but unless something changes, Mitch isn’t going to allow trial. Any vote that occurs in the senate will tie the GOP to trump but who doesn’t already know that? The GOP have at +85% favorability towards trump. There isn’t a segment of the population who’s brain explodes from finding out the gop supports trump
