  2. My money is it drops before 5pm cst
  3. I recommend folks take a look at this link as a good primer on what to expect and how to understand the Mueller report. “In many cases, reporters and publications trumpeted Barr’s top-line descriptions without giving adequate attention to both the more complicated facts of what Barr had actually described—the difference between no evidence of conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt and “no collusion,” for example—and the information that remained hidden from public view.” https://www.lawfareblog.com/memo-press-how-not-screw-mueller-report
  4. That’s the standard he used. Page 2, second paragraph, last sentence. Note footnote. “Conspired” (conspiracy) is criminal act. “Coordinated” was also used to define conspiracy.
  5. All of them. Comey was fired that spring and then the Mueller investigation started
  6. Lots of folks don’t understand or refuse to accept that the “beyond a reasonable doubt” evidentiary standard used in Barr’s letter allows for the existence of a lot of evidence of inappropriate collusion. Below is a quick list stuff I can think of off the top of my head. - Kushner’s efforts to make a backchannel at Russian govt buildings - Secret Trump tower deal in Moscow - GOP platform changes related to Ukraine - Firing fbi Director cause of russia thing - Campaign manager providing polling data to russia - Russian money in inauguration funds - Russian/suadi money in Trump, Kush, and Ivanka real estate projects - Flynn’s secret negotiations with Russian ambassador concerning sanctions - Stone coordination with Assange, Russian cutout.
  7. Appeal to extremes. Logical fallacies are a bad look. They are a sign of a weak position. Why does a Bernie bro feel the need to fallaciously defend Assange? It’s so weird
  8. Of course I wouldn’t act like a whiny pussy if I broke the law. Just like I wouldn’t use fallicious logic to defend a whiny pussy
  9. Jesus. Constant fallacious logic is embarrassing. “Either you turn yourself in for everything you have done or you are whiny pussy!” You don’t always have to bend backwards to defend Assange and Bernie. It looks bad.
  10. Or just own your shit. Don’t break the law if you are scared to do the time. Don’t act as a cutout to hostile foreign meddling in democracy and then cry when your card gets punched. Why so much victimhood these day? Presidential Harassment! Bernie was treated so unfairly! White men are the real victims! Actions have consequences. Being a pussy should have consequences also
  11. Assange is whiny pussy. Hiding in an embassy. Scared to face the music. Acting like a child as police haul him out. We are going to see more whiny pussyness from Assange as he tries to sway UK public opinion that extradition to the US would be mean
  12. Not everyone lost with Trump. Putin won. White nationalism won. An expanding wealth division won. The top 2% won. Steel workers won. Everyone else lost even if they’ve chosen to identify themselves as a trump supporter.
  13. See the Post story above. Russia preferred Trump and Sanders. They both presented anti globalist views for America. Both were against the TPP and both were interested in restricting free trade with the idea it would protect US workers at home. A retracting US economic footprint in the world squarely fits with Putin’s desire to expand Russia’s
  14. Good take on how to look at redactions when the report comes out. “Don’t be quick to jump to the conclusion that redactions suggest that a coverup is happening. The better approach is to examine whether the redactions significantly impede understanding of Mueller’s conclusions or whether the report is still largely comprehensible. Redactions are far more concerning and suspicious if they are extensive and if they blot out conclusions than they are if they are sparse and merely remove evidentiary detail. In his second letter to Congress, Barr laid out four different categories of likely redactions: grand jury material; sensitive material that may compromise intelligence community sources and methods if made public; material that could affect “other ongoing matters,” including investigations referred out from the special counsel’s office; and material that would “unduly infringe on the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties.” Not all these categories are of comparable weight. Redaction of grand jury material is legally required, at least in the absence of a court order to the contrary—and Barr has said that he will not seek such an order as an initial matter. Redaction of material related to intelligence sources and methods is important and a legitimate concern for the intelligence community. Capacious redactions for the privacy of “peripheral third parties,” by contrast, should draw greater suspicion. Redactions to protect pending matters are exactly as defensible as they are proximately related to matters actually still pending.” https://www.lawfareblog.com/memo-press-how-not-screw-mueller-report
  15. He has been seemingly successful thus far in stonewalling. Why not keep it up while still maintaining his and the DOJ’s integrity? Why throw it all away on the eve of the report release?
  16. He was able to pretend that he was going follow the rule of law, but not anymore. There was a lot of value in being able to rely on the DOJ’s credibility when it came to justifying redactions. That is all gone. I feel something is compelling him. My sense is that Barr has given up on being able to hide the damaging information in the Report. Either he’s not able to redact it or he knows it’s just a matter of time.
  17. I agree it was calculated. It can be calculated but still be a misstep. This was obviously intended to pander to trump, his base, Fox News but should remove most doubt that he is able to act impartially. I’m actually baffled by Barr
  18. I guess we should add Barr’s stance on “spying” to the list of actions that squarely fit within political theatre. Kind of shocking he did this days before releasing his redacted version of the report. This was self-inflicted and lowers his credibility even further. I would consider it a political misstep. It will be very difficult for objective observers to trust Barr’s redacted version of the report.
  19. Barr’s son works within the White House I believe. I doubt that is Barr’s motivation though. I suspect his primary motivation is he wants to protect the gop and maintain the redistribution of wealth to the upper class, which he likely believes is best for the US. Getting the country to move on from Mueller increases the odds that wealth redistribution continues.
  20. “But Hillary!” ”Both SiDeS!” ”The system is broken because it gave us Hillary!” lulz The mental gymnastics required to deflect from the current state of the White House is amazing. Hillary’s primary flaw was being the subject of a decades long campaign of bashing by Fox News, talking heads, radio hosts to the point that people just accept that “Hillary = corruption” without any evidence.
  21. Congress is getting all of the report. It’s just a matter of when. Dems aren’t in a hurry. The GOP either rips the bandaid off now or prolonges while showing the public they are hiding information, which only builds it up more and more. The only questions in my mind is how long it takes for Congress to get the full report and then how much of the report will be released to the public. Politics is a game
  22. Democrats aren’t in a hurry. They are taking it nice and slow until the public is in the mood. The end game isn’t until the 2020 election. They are moving forward on multiple fronts but don’t want it to be over too quickly, they want it to last, build up the suspense. And then Boom! We got Joe Biden griden from behind
  23. One statement that worries me from the NYT piece. ”Mr. Barr was also wary of departing from Justice Department practice not to disclose derogatory details in closing an investigation, according to two government officials familiar with Mr. Barr’s thinking.” Imagine taking a black marker and removing everything derogatory to trump, his campaign, or anyone around him.
