  1. Are you arranging these, Immamac? If you ever decide to have something in Fort Worth, happy to contribute and host at the Flatiron building downtown. The Fort Worth Club / Petroleum Club would probably be the obvious, but the Flatiron has some unique charm - plenty of alumni in the area looking to contribute too.
  2. This is a pretty dumb response. Sure, let’s just change the paradigm to meet your agenda . . . The original post is $350k under the table or $350k legitimately through NIL. One is in brown bag hidden from Uncle Sam, one is not. So your “benefactor” is now giving $500k instead of $350k to cover taxes for the beneficiary? That’s quite the change. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be . . . From a donor perspective, a charitable donation is a great tax write-off and a win-win - donate money to a cause, get a write off, influence a recruit. From a recruit perspective - some of who do not come from great backgrounds - giving them a true $350k (and not paying any taxes) is quite different than a taxed $350k. It’s the simple reason you see players on pro teams in California complain about salary caps versus teams in Texas - state income tax is a bitch (on top of federal). You’ll understand some day when you make enough to pay a significant amount in taxes (and then you’ll try and find every way to reduce that amount with your friendly JD, CPA buddy).
  3. Whut Edited 23 minutes ago by lilMAC25 Sounds like someone doesn't fully understand income tax. $350k under the table all day.
  4. 50 /50 chance on Greene per Gerry - will announce later in January https://247sports.com/player/earnest-greene-46080544/
  5. It hurts that Dylan Wright already portal'd from A&M as well. Seems like a highly-rated WR would see the writing on the wall in a Jimbo offense, yet they keep going there. There are some rumblings that Ewers is working on some recruits "behind the scenes," but I haven't seen any names in particular.
  6. I hate to even write this, but their defense (int, solid against the run) / special teams (1 td return) were pretty damn good that game. Our defense is swiss cheese.
  7. I mean when you have to explain your "execute the entire team" joke, things are not looking good.
  8. There will always be smoke with the Brocks because of their dad, their brother at UT, coach Flood, and fat pancake stacks. They weren't even on the depth chart this year - there's always a chance because of the multiple connections that exist.
  9. Depends on the terms of the agreement - are you paying / pressuring for a commitment on the spot? Does that commitment include staying on campus until NFL / graduation? Staggered bag delivery based on time on campus? If you don't have a binding contract with specific terms, you play the game that your brown bag may end up over your own eyes as you're bent over a suede maroon couch.
  10. Seems like it would be impossible though given different teams have different positional needs. Sometimes you need 7 DL and 5 OL because your trenches are pure ass.
  11. What the hell do I do with my life now?!? Need more f5 purposes
  12. Isn’t there someone here that has Spanish class with Urban?!? I need something credible dammit!
  13. Do we have any sources that are in Spanish class with Bijan?
  14. Damn, I can't believe that about Brown. My dad just had a stroke on the 3rd of January. Something I never thought twice about previously seems to be everywhere. For what it's worth, the number one priority post-stroke is preventing stoke number 2. There is an extremely high rate of recurrence and a high mortality rate as the brain is weakened in the affected area. Most people go on blood thinner/anticoagulant (warfarin, eliquis etc.) for at least 6 months, and possibly for life depending on the situation. My dad had an underlying heart condition that caused the stroke (atrial fibrillation). That root cause was determinative for his long term treatment plan. He was also a surgeon and had the stroke while operating, so he was treated in record time and only has symptoms of expressive aphasia (think of that feeling where the word is on the tip of your tongue, but with everything). He also has issues with complex tasks like high level math and chess (thinking ahead, planning moves). I can't imagine playing D1 RB in the near future if Brown did have a stroke. The risk of a second stroke and death coupled with anticoagulant treatment makes a physical contact sport seem like a distant future. Factor in the cognitive issues and possible motor function issues/rehab, and it's a long - yet doable - road to recovery. That sucks for the kid with his entire future ahead of him, but hopefully he pulls through without any long-lasting side effects. Football should be a distant secondary thought for now.
  15. Bj Foster Caden Stern Tyler Ownes Not sure on the rest? Maybe Anthony Cook, Jalen Green, Overshown, and Brandon Jones? (not composite 5 stars form the 247 roster page).
  16. Hell no, Kliff bamboozled him into signing with USC. If Kliff hadn't done that, we would likely not been through his drama.
  17. No kidding, does he have a wrestling background? He has some serious take-down technique.
  18. I mean even if he is technically a transfer and doesn't count toward the 2019 class, who cares? We would still have a five star #10 rated recruit in our class, and with a waiver, he could be eligible and wouldn't have to sit. Aggy can tell themselves whatever they want, but logic would say include the guy would be in the 2019 class taking up a scholarship. He would still be playing for us, so it seems like more of a "technicality." From a fan-board prospective, the man would go in the calculator.
  19. Something tells me Swanson was in Walker Little's Spanish class too...
  20. Jordan Elliot in the sense of a headcase until the end, but Jordan transferred because of the coaching change (Haley/Vaughn) and his clash with Herman. If Shepard commits to Herman & Co., the transfer aspect would be a little bit more surprising. A .94 NT would be a godsend at the moment with our DL depth.
