  1. I mean, sure? They are apples and oranges. I love variety, so I don’t think about whiskey in that way. Otherwise I’d just say bourbon X is the best and would only buy that.
  2. I disagree that Little Book 4 and 5 aren’t good or aren’t worth having. I like them all. I loved the spice on 4, and I like all the caramel notes on 5. The variation from year to year is going to mean that the reception varies depending on what people like in a pour. I’ve only had a single pour of Chapter 1, but I’d rate them 3, 4, 1, 5, 2.
  3. I'd say they are "fine". The Pot Still is affordable and easy drinking, yet unremarkable. It's just not what I'm looking for in a bourbon personally. They all have that Balcones "funk", which can be polarizing. If you want to put your money behind a Texas made bourbon, Still remains the best bet IMO. I think Treaty Oak's Ghost Hill Bourbon is also pretty solid, especially some of their store picks.
  4. The Wheated Bourbon they release once a year at the distillery. I could take it or leave it with the rest of their lineup. Just not my jam. The Rum might be the second best thing they make.
  5. Zero reason to believe Sark can right the ship. Let the countdown to the next coaching search begin.
  6. Tried Series 6 when I was at the distillery. It’s a much needed comeback after the letdown that was Series 5.
  7. Maybe some of them will fall for that idea. The smart ones will recognize that Sark is just not a good HC and will look elsewhere.
  8. Did you pick up that last bottle in your DeLorean?
  9. I phrased things poorly. Surely some stores are price gouging Blanton’s and some idiots are still buying it. That said, if you have access to FB secondary groups, Blanton’s is $120 on the regular and Blanton’s store picks are $150-ish.
  10. Nobody is paying 4-5x for it. It’s settled in at 2x, unless it’s a store pick and then it’s going for $150.
  11. We’re pretty fucked. Feel free to use that as the new thread title, btw.
  12. Let’s go LA. That wasn’t a swing. Fuck the Giants. Max wasn’t going to let fucking Flores beat him, and the game should’ve already been over if JT fields that grounder at third. On to the Braves. Hopefully we don’t repeat the whole going down 3-1 thing again.
  13. I don’t like the whiskey at any price, but that’s good value relative to SRP. I know guys that know their whiskey that really like it, so it really comes down to the individual and what works for their palate.
  14. Finally made it to Kentucky. I built Bardstown up to the point that I was sure it would be the highlight of the trip, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Their whiskey library is incredible. The last pic is our flight from the experience, and all three dusty bottles were awesome to sample. I also had a pour of this 6 year HH that was bottled the year I was born (77). These guys are crushing that experience. 10 out of 10.
  15. 7 pound rack of Prime Dino ribs, with a hunk of brisket crashing the party in the background.
  16. 12.7 lb (pre-trim) Snake River Farms Wagyu. I’ve made worse.
  17. Picked up a Bomberger’s ‘21 in a trade today. After one pour I’m ready to declare it as a must try/must buy. Absolutely fantastic bottle.
  18. I’m a big fan based on the first pour I had. A very punchy Rye in all the right ways. Not sure the low frequency Metallica had anything to do with that, but it’s good stuff.
  19. Gonna give this guy a whirl tonight.
  20. OL’s don’t get fixed in a year. And before you go on about the portal, good to great OL don’t end up in the portal very often. You might get a one year bandaid via a grad transfer, but there is no magic wand that turns dog shit OL play around in 12 months. The staff better have rock solid evals, or this cycle will just continue.
  21. It can in the sense that 1 game can pause momentum. And this one likely will.
  22. Jorginho for Saul was a much needed substitution at the half. He’s provided stability and confidence in the midfield and Villa have looked much less threatening. The second goal certainly helped as well, but it’s hard not to notice the difference in how much control we’ve had of the match since the half.
  23. Wow. That was mighty generous of Mings.
