  1. Which Bama loss was worse than FSU? Here is the fine point of it, look at the entire season instead of cherry picking a couple of data points that support your position. Notre Dame started with two disappointments and ended with 10 straight dominant wins. Bama started okay and ended with five disappointments and 1 crushing win over Eastern Illinois.
  2. Apparently you did. BYU is either better than Miami or they are not. See below.
  3. The PC said that teams would not be punished for playing in a CCG. They meant teams would not be punished for playing in an SECCG. This is more scandalous than the Miami switch because it's a clean cut lie. They cleared out the teams inbetween nd and Miami to justify their other trope about teams next to each other.
  4. I believe the PC wrote their rules incorrectly with what they wanted. They assumed that the P4 conf champs would always be in the top 5 of other conf champs. But they didn't put that into the rules so they were stuck with Tulane and James Madison ranked higher than Duke. Likewise the ACC probably assumed their top two programs would play for the ACCCG but they didn't make that the official tiebreaker. I am glad you asked. The PC always followed the computer rankings, specifically the BCS proxy. Even the year that everyone thinks they screwed TCU for anOSU, the Buckeyes actually got to #4 in the final BCS proxy. Exceptions. 2023 FSU the PC knew that FSU's qb was out, the computers did not. 2025 ND. The PC knew that it had to include Bama and an ACC team, the computers did not.
  5. The ACC didn't really have a good OOC win, other than week 1 ND@Miami squeaker and FSU thrashing Alabama; the latter I noted was banned from media discussion even in late September. Otherwise there were a lot of close games, like GTech having the ball and a chance to win on the last drive @UGA. But nothing (after week 1) to point to that would tell us ACC was just as good as the other three.
  6. The same reason that ESPN devoted almost no air time to ND vs SEC #5. Bad for business. The computer composite, and average of all the metrics say that ND is 6th. https://masseyratings.com/ranks?s=cf and To put it another way, whom did Texas A&M beat other than ND? I promise that I have not looked that up.
  7. Teaching, feeding the poor, and other things better than propping up ESPN's left behind 'bowl games.'
  8. It's lame if you remember that the ACC is a dead man walking conference. Preseason everyone knew it when the conference leadership caved to FSU/Clemson and said they could leave early in exchange for absolutely nothing, Just try to say an SEC team does that and gets excluded from the playoff. Try typing it and see how that argument looks. So four P4 teams and your old regular SWC opponent? I can say the same thing about East Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas, SCe.
  9. Do you see Eastern Illinois here? CSC. Cash, strictly cash. The NCST game was played in a hurricane. Brain Kelly lined up in the shot gun like he always does and tried to throw the ball 40 times. The ACC is a 'partner' who signed a long term contract with ND. If you take a dump in public on your contractual partner you should expect the deal is going to fail.
  10. This guy gets it. No. Not even from the outside priests are not part of the Brothers of the Holy Cross and were just hired to work at the University. For a Catholic institution that large to escape largely unscathed is head scratching. Our scandal was Ty Willingham. I'm aware of that. The SEC designed that inane tiebreaker rule instead of just 'highest in the PC rankings.' So you have your fifth best team playing in the CCG between the top two. So even if you say that 'they shouldn't be punished for the CCG' Right, you are punished for finishing fifth in conference.
  11. It's a joke but it's politically correct. Everyone except me is pretending that the ACC kept us out of the college football playoff, because they lobbied for a total of one team in the playoff. Isn't that their job? We were actually kept out of the playoffs by SEC #5. The SEC has so much power in the media that, l no one is questioning whether the $EC deserved its 5th best team in the top 12. You have a good conference but it is not so good that number five is head and shoulders above anyone else. And the helmet cancels any question about whether Alabama really was the 5th best team. Could Texas beat Auburn by more than one touchdown? Well, just because they did not call this targeting does not mean there were no concussive effects.
  12. ND gets a token amount from the ACC but not a full payout or even close. Apparently we don't need whatever the poptars were offering but the bowls seem to need eyeballs badly.
  13. And the gift bag, kids at that age just love Pop-Tarts. Not unprecedented, in 1996 Notre Dame was 9-2 having just bungled a big lead in the USC game. Notre Dame felt too big to 'send St Lou out with a win' and declined a bowl. And in that era bowl games mattered a lot more.
  14. #7 the the composite of all the computer rankings. https://masseyratings.com/ranks?s=cf&top=-9 And, the computers don't know that; Miami had hacked the snap count, Texas A&M had a tell on run vs pass from quarterback Carr's stance. Neither was likely to be true in the future.
