Lulz.....I'm not even sure what you are trying to say right here. Are you saying WSU should be ranked higher than Clemson? Almost every strength of schedule rating I can find has Clemson much higher than WSU, but more importantly, have you watched both teams play? Do you think Wazzu could stay within 14 points of Clemson?

Clemson plays two P5 teams out of conference every year, so they do try to make it hard on their own schedule.

I'd love to knock Clemson but their schedule looks pretty good right now.  Yet, they are riding the success of NCST as their #1 win. It will be interesting to see if The Wolfpack can still do for them what Michigan has done for us.

I’d say the bigger question than the SEC having it’s best win be against a flailing Washington Huskies squad, is who the heck has Clemson played so far..?

I would argue that Washington State actually has better wins than that of Clemson at this point...

They didn't become top teams by making it hard on their own schedule.

yeah its probably #2 behind LSU beating Miami.

I should mention I only though a cursory glance at the resumes of SECez UG-UF-UK.

Later I am confident that we'll all conclude that while the non-Bama SEC squad is good, they don't deserve top 10 rankings simply because they lose to each other.

yep.  since we are stuck in ths BS conf hell, we need to add 2 teams(UCF and BYU sound good to me), go to divisions, rig the schedule, play 4 OOC(3 gimmies and one very good P5 game) and be done with this shit until realignment(not going away).  as long as we play OU and have one very good OOC game I'm good.

Funny thing, I'm seeing Middle Tennessee as the best SEC ooc win amongst the teams in question.

  6. Go United States Navy

This series features the #1 School for Naval Officers vs 1 of the other leading Schools

    Quote

July 1943: The War Department elects to maximize Notre Dame's facilities by building a major branch of the Naval V-12 Program there. Instead of being taught by naval officers (as the officer candidates were), the V-12 students took college courses directly from the Notre Dame faculty. These students were housed in Dillon, Alumni, Walsh, Cavanaugh, and Zahm Halls. Their presence ballooned the University's student population from a paltry 750 to the 3,500-4,000 range and above.

The ACC championship game and the Big 12 championship game had about the same rating last year, even though the ACC went head to head with the Big 10.

I'll assume the Big was on FOX and a blowout.  There was a reason to think 11-1 Miami could upset Clemson although the ACCCG is nearly as upset-starved as the SEC.

Texas has a 7% chance of winning out and a 15% chance of the CFP,

11-2 Texas is in the playoff 8% of the time?  Or is it even more because some of the times Texas wins out, you get shafted?  But tpi, I don't see how 11-2 UT is given a berth over 12-0 UCF, 11-1 ND, and a bunch of SEC also-rans.

GT with 500+ yards rushing and 12 yards passing.  Didn’t Van Gorder get fired when GT did the same thing to Norte Dame?

Nah, GT and Navy were the only teams we stopped that year.  In a related story, BK assigned one of the assistants to design the option defense during the off-season.

Herbie's PR Firm  ESPN is going to have to work overtime to keep tOSU in the playoff picture.

We'll see if deep sighs when asked if tOSU is a playoff contender on Gameday next week. I have never seen anybody so dismissive of Texas' chances.

Get ready for Purdue on the road is a better loss than Maryland on the road spin BS.

I THINK that a Purdue win tonight precludes another 11-1 Buckeye Backdoor

    into the playoffs.

Big 10 officials will not let this aggression against Urban stand.  Calls will be made---soon.

Great, I'd love another media day-temporary suspension come 2022.

Is this a case of Ohio State playing down to the level of Purdue, or the Boilermakers playing up to the level of the Buckeyes..? I think option A, as I recall Northwestern winning in this stadium earlier this year...

It's generally the former.  I recall Danny Hope beat anOSU and still got fired.

This would be good if only for the reason that the SEC CG loser is guaranteed to be out of the playoff

×I don't think the PC is letting CCG losers into the playoff.  Probably the one thing I really agree with them on.

SoYes, this is a huge factor. I haven't crunched their numbers enough but it's something I might disagree with if and when I do it. Drive efficiency is the point of football, it's essentially efficiency with each possession. For example if you have an offense that gains 4 yards every play, so a mean of 4 and a standard deviation of 0, you will score a touchdown on every single drive where you don't commit a turnover. That is a perfect offense.

But I have a feeling it would score lower in S&P+ than an offense that averages 8 yards per play with a standard deviation of 16. But that "twice as explosive offense" has a probability of gaining a first down on three plays of about 70% compared to the 100% probability of the less explosive offense.

So it's one of those systems that rewards the big play spread offenses that Oregon or WSU runs at the expense of a power running team?
