I love how @Sbbruin can post just about anything and, as long as it has boats in the background, it's badass.  Dude could post a pic of genital warts from his boat and we're all like, dude that's awesome.  Any of the rest of us posts that steak on that plate on that table cloth and the Surly smarmy dog piling ensues.

Cool toys are a powerful thing.

I'll say it.  Overcooked and under seared.

. The homeless in Austin are many things, but they aren't really anything to be afraid of IMO,

I respect the fact that the B/CS cops let my aggy friend and his little brother walk away in the wake of Looch, and three of his buddies on the ground back in 2001. Aggy friend played baseball at aggy, and went pro. His little brother played at Texas, and has an 04 Nat Title baseball ring. Aggy friend got caught up in a scuffle with some of Looch’s buddies giving his little brother shit for his Texas shirt, and saw his brother get to fighting outside the chicken as my friend was closing his tab. When he got outside and intervened, he was hit from behind from the one and only aggy manipulator. His brother (the Longhorn) is the one who finished Looch.

Whatever you're smoking, there's always room for sausages. Take advantage of any extra space during a smoke. That's something I never thought of before reading the thread on the old site. Yet it's so obvious.

So true.  I never have just one thing on the smoker.  Bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers are quick and easy, and nice snack while you're waiting for the meat to finish.

    Shit I'm gonna cook soon:

I recently got my hands on 20lbs of cooked crawfish, left over from a boil on Saturday.  I've pealed them all (and ate a bunch) and what I have left is about 2.5  lbs of meat and 6 lbs of heads for stock.  What should I do with it?  It's fully cooked  (not par cooked like you get when you just buy tails), so I want to be careful not not to turn it in to rubber.  I'll document, but need ideas.

    Pappadeaux’s crawfish bisque.

So not HEB brand, but I bought this queso at HEB over the weekend and it was pretty damn good.  Throw in some seasoned ground beef and diced japs (peppers, not orientals).

agreed.  very solid fridge queso that keeps for a long time, not that it'll last

From observation, HEB is not known for price uniformity across the state.

Or from store to store.  I get the flyer for the store(s) close to my house (there's a code in the top corner, iirc) but shop at a different one on my way home from work.  The meat was on sale in the flyer but not at the store I stopped at.  They did say they would honor the price if I had the flyer but prices vary from store to store.

Yeah, I'm stumped. It's possible that it's the new leaves on live oaks, but I don't think so. Nobody will care if she gets a close up of the pasture ones. Except maybe you if she gets stuck in the ditch.

I don't think ligustrum gets that color even with new growth in spring. Huisache? Western Soapberry? Nah too shrubby.

    Striking out

YES!! Huisache is it!  I knew someone would come through.  +rep

@McFly Photinia fraseri might be it. Aka Red Tip Photinia.

The snarky response is that there's a host of possibilities. New growth on trees/shrubs can be colors other than shades of green. It really doesn't narrow it down. The blurry images might actually be enough. People usually don't care if you take a leaf or two if you do spot one like it elsewhere.

Red Tip came to mind at first when she mentioned them but don't look anything like them.  Here's the pics I got.

She said this is a bunch of them

It is supposed to be in the middle of this pic.

    Good Luck.  TIA
